Just like I'd expect from Leon, one of my lifetime heroes, converting a church into a recording studio where beautiful music will be made and created. You rock, Leon! You are truly a legend and I love you.
Leon Russell's baby girl is gorgeously beautiful she seems to be multi talented just lie her dad Leon I am certain he was IMMENSELY proud of his baby girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This made me cry with both sorrow at his loss and with joy that the gobsmacking studio he built is his visible, palpable legacy for generations of musicians to come. Such a brilliant man; truly mind blowing.
For a look at the genius of Leon, check out the DVD of Concert for Bangladesh. George Harrison had the celebrity cred and backing to stage the first mega-concert ever....but he was no band-leader. Dylan strayed oddly from rehearsed material and Clapton was a ghost of himself; didn't even bring a decent guitar. As the crowd of rock stars threatened to lose focus, Leon stepped up and quietly pulled the event into shape. Check out Leon leading an electrifying version of "Jumpin' Jack Flash"......
Check out Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Leon was a bandleader. A lot of craziness, but he led that band. Haven't seen Concert for Bangladesh in years, but it doesn't surprise me that Leon whipped it into shape.
@@neilcovey I recently watched footage from Mad Dogs and Englishmen and was surprised at the awkward onstage rivalry between Leon and Cocker. But there's no doubt Leon was the main reason that huge, disorganized stage show is remembered for electrifying performances that cemented Cocker's career. If you haven't, check out the 1964 TAMI concert in Santa Monica for a look at a young, clean shaved Wrecking-Crew era Leon, already a master band leader and rocking an Elvis-style pompadour.
@@neilcovey @Parker Arts The general story is that Joe was dissipated and exhausted even before the tour began (remember, he was mostly forced into doing in because promoters had booked shows...he'd fired/disbanded the Grease Band and really just wanted to rest). The excesses of the road life further wore away at Cocker's health even as he managed to pour his entire soul into each performance regardless of his level of inebriation. Leon, ever the field commander, pushed to keep the shows rolling and the audience entertained, even when Joe would have just as soon passed out and quit. Some saw it as Leon "grabbing the spotlight" from Joe. And to be truthful, there may have been some of that. But he was also a professional and a showman and if Joe wasn't going to "run the show", than Leon would.
@@FlyJohnny100 I have read that Joe JC called Leon LR for help as JC label had set up a tour that started in 3 weeks !!!! Imagine, 3 weeks !!! LR said he would but ONLY IF he had COMPLETE musical freedom to be the leader. Smart Leon.....
+Parker Arts Well said, your comments about Leon's performance and presence at the Bangladesh show. Of course, kudos to George Harrison for deciding to do this. With his star power he was able to bring in the other performers. But, I have always enjoyed hearing "a couple of numbers from Leon" as my favorite performance of that event...
I hung out with Tina (among friends) back in the day 90's (as I recall lol), hadn't saw her since this vid, though been watching some home town yt Leon lately
It happens ever so often that the parent/parents are brilliant musicians and expect their offsprings to follow them into music. Sure, the children may possess the talent, but may be happier going to university and to go into academia! It has nothing to do with talent or lack of it, but some children may be simply happier in another profession ! I am just pointing this out as I think happiness with one's profession is extremely important I this life!
Yes, his daughter is bi-racial and her mother is a beautiful woman. Google her Mary McCreary Russell, she was with Sly Stone's band. They are pictured together on one of his album covers.
I saw them at the Universal Amphitheater in '77.They sat facing each other at the keyboards. Very memorable concert. Leon Russell was 🌟 and his music, his style, were so beautiful.
Her father Leon is a well to do legend. Shows what you know! He collaborated with some of the best names out there in addition to his own musical talent. He didn't keep himself in a genre box, either!
Um.....don't YOU quit yours either. Not to be the one who goes round spreading hateful comments, I really think you oughta sit back, clean the shite out of your ears and reeeeeeally give this girl a listen. She may not have technical brilliance but she has something that someone of your ilk wouldn't knew what to do with....STYLE. So go ahead and crawl back to your Brit-nee Spears clones and leave the artists to those of us who can appreciate them.
it sounds good... she's really the daughters of two well known musicians... no doubt about it... it 's all in her sound... the same inflluences and tradition...
Leon sure does have some beautiful children! Looks, talent & kindness.

Leon lives on.
My parents met in that church, and got married in that church.
What was the name of the church back then?
I can hear some Leon in her growl. Fantastic!
I remember Blue as a child, Leon was a friend of my mothers and I remember her mother Carla as well.
She is beautiful.😊
I love Leon Russell so much, his Granddaughter Halen can sing like nobody's business

wow, I like her song. I'll have to see if I can find some of her recordings. She may have inherited some real talent!

By the way he has pretty daughters and they got voice skills like their dad
His children have his eyes!
