I so remember this. I was there. One of the few times I bothered to go to a live implosion. My family has history with the Dust though so I had to do it. I just couldn't stay home. I lived a couple of blocks away anyway so I had to go. This was a hell of a night, let me tell you.

It seems that the more we advance, we lose the history that made the Strip legendary. Neon bone yards are the only remnants of the past. I understand that the upkeep of the hotels and casinos are seriously expensive (one can wish that it were not so). Since the Covid Pandemic shut down, the Strip will never be the same. We can't change it - I just wish that we could meld the past with the future for the next generations to come.
No more 8-10 nightly rooms - my family of four was able to have a full week vacation back in the 70's Days are gone - no respect for history...? Does LV have a sign strip museum at least? I'm so glad I took pictures when I did as a kid

This was the last one where they made a true spectacle of a Vegas demolition. People were beginning to get sick of this disregard for history and old Vegas…as well as the corporate takeover. …which is why in 2015, the Riviera demolition was done on the quiet

It's just a damn shame that this icon of Vegas's past was torn down.
Yeah, wish it could've stayed longer, then I might have been able to go there, instead it was imploded before I was even born 😅
