    Great recipe and I have tried it. Best one yet. Two/three tips though. Cook the chicken a little longer breast side down to ensure that it is fully cooked. Secondly put the butter on first then season. That way seasoning sticks. Thirdly add additional chicken or chilly seasoning as well for a bit of a bite if you like.

    Everything I've cooked in this unit has come out great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB ! Everything tastes so good. Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!

    Thank you for sharing. I've just bought the Cosori Dual Blaze and was thinking about cooking a whole chicken. So glad I stumbled upon your channel. Clear explanation of the method, ingredients and beautifully presented.

    I think it should be added that you should always check your food with an instant read digital thermometer. The chicken looked great but you don't want to under or over cook it. I do agree letting the chicken rest for a bit does increase the cooking temp 5 or 10 degrees.

    • @CookingwithCosori
      @CookingwithCosori  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Lucille! Since the 5.8 quart is slightly smaller than the dual blaze a 5lb chicken will still fit but may be a bit snug, so you may want to consider using a 4.5lb chicken. You can follow the same instructions, but will keep the inner basket in the 5.8 quart when cooking. If using a smaller chicken you can cut the total cooking time by 5-10 minutes!
      Best,
      Cosori Chef Margaret

  • @DaveGme
    @DaveGme 2 роки тому

    What do you think about cutting the backbone out of the bird? Sorta like a spatchcock, but not flattened out. Seems like you could get more oil and air in the cavity area and it would cook faster.

      There's always a mush who knows a better way to do it.. Here in Albion, after we'd stopped eating each other, late 17c allegedly, ( 19th in Eire) nothing, i repeat nothing remained of any edible commodity. ( before ya kick off mi boys, Trevalyan's crack was "small beer" compared to the "ssshh" in the Munster, south Leinster region.) .Sorry for "dragging it down", it's just for the "blueshirts, "like.

    • @CookingwithCosori
      @CookingwithCosori  2 роки тому +1

      Hi David! Yes you can definitely do that and it will cook faster. I might recommend getting a slightly smaller chicken so that it's not too crammed in the air fryer basket. Let me know how that turns out if you try it out!

    4 teaspoons of salt , is she crazy that will suck all the juices and moisture out of any meat ,
    a light sprinkle on top maybe but not 4 teaspoons (high blood pressure alert) and as for the butter its not needed ,
    a chicken has enough fats and juices to keep it moist while cooking nice with the lemon and garlic but no dont add 4 teaspoons of salt

      Hi Joanne! You can definitely adjust the salt and fat level to your preference:) Seasoning the chicken all over and inside the cavity with salt really allows the chicken to taste well seasoned and butter also gives it a delicious flavor and golden crust, which is why I opted for it!
      Best,

      @@CookingwithCosori You should actually salt the bird a few hours before cooking, or even overnight or longer. Any less than a few hours and the salt will do nothing more than season the outer skin of the bird. 24 to 48 hours is best.

      Salting a chicken, or a nice steak, is necessary for it to attain the best flavour.

    I do not know why you would contaminate the large bowls of salt and pepper with raw chicken from your fingers. Otherwise, an informative and useful video.

    If afraid this “Chef” is teaching us an awful lot of really bad habits. This is how I would have prepared the bird. Take big bowl and fill it with all the spices you want for seasoning, rub the chicken lightly with the butter and place in the bowl and completely cover it with the spices, then replace it on the cutting board, hog tie it if you’re into that sort of stuff I’m sure you could do a better job 😂. Now Thoroughly wash your hands with a hand cleanser (that kills 99% of household germs) and any surface you might have touched. Preheat the fryer for 5 minutes, and place the chicken in the fryer drawer with 2 old forks bent at 90 degrees, set the time as suggested and pour yourself a glass of wine or 2 whilst you wait. 🫠. Don’t touch any of the internal draw surfaces with anything Metal, Ever, coz this will take the surface coating off and you don’t want to be ingesting any of that dangerous stuff 😮
