Month before TBC release we made the most progress, suddenly downing several bosses in AQ40 and started Naxx. Unfortunately TBC got released and never got the chance to try radiing Naxx for real. Looking forward to re-do this!
those gm whispers have pushed me to restore an old HDD i have sitting around, that i KNOW has vanilla/tbc screenshots it felt like such a magical experience back then, now it's a social hellscape (i'll always attribute that to LFR.)
I think pretty much every player on every server looked up to him, I remember seeing him IRL in the subway as a kid once and I came back and told everybody in school hahaha, I was the boss that day.
When i started in early BC i didn't know what pve was... I just qued bgs after elementary school every day....for 6 hours. ( I was 10) as an arms warrior.
I used to play on Magtheridon back in Vanilla (actually I still play on Magtheridon EU, only now it's a PvE realm). I remember the intense crowds in Orgrimmar (and the intense server queues to get in) when Nihilum got world first on Kel'Thuzad. Fun to see screenshots with names I recognise roaming around my old home.
Love the AQ music in the background (some of my favorite music in WoW). Tubers, Nightdragons, Oils, all of the pots that you could use multiple times. I remember one of our warriors making sure he always had free action potions. I really miss that kind of stuff from Vanilla.
i miss it too there were good times, but nowdays with work with 3 shifts shedule it wont be pissible to rexperience it for me, i dont have 40hours per weak spare time to commint, makes mi kinda sad

On thaddius 1 person cant realisticslly cause a wipe, if 1 person is on the wrong side they will do about 2.3k dmg to each person, and all those ppl will do 2.2k dmg to them. Causing that person to die. For you guys to wipe at 1% multiple ppl messed up, it wasnt the rouge alone 100% unless ur all somehow sitting below 2k hp lol.
Affliction merged with Malediction on Genjuros to form Original Sin and then merged with Nihilum to get world first, if i recall correctly from my Genjuros days
With the desert (AQ) music in the background and kungens narration, it gives the feeling of a real life experience of knights telling tales about the good ol days in war/combat (sort of like robert baratheon from game of thrones constantly bringing it up.) Title should be "Viking king reminiscing about glorious battles from ages past"

he was the best Raidplayer in Vanilla and BC. He was the Faker or Olofmeister what you would say today. So its ok he is talking like he is the best in the world
So who were you mystery people and why did you decide to join Nihilum only to to leave it before TBC? why did you leave it when the future looked so good for you guys in TBC?
I played lots of end game early in EQ1 and to me that had the most hard core and unforgiving PVE of any game. Raid bosses were difficult, and there were no maps to dungeons. One guy farts the wrong direction and you've got a huge train that wipes your entire raid along with hours of progress. While I did enjoy vanilla WoW, I don't feel it was all that you make it out to be. I was fortunate enough to raid deep into Nax, so I agree on its difficulty compared to what kids these days are used to. However the grind and repetitiveness of farming towards the end of Vanilla made the game very boring. Plus the class skills were much less refined. Once you hit level 60 there wasn't much to do and WoW PvP has never been as much fun as games like Shadowbane and UO. Generally speaking, we lack a good sandbox MMORPG with a skill based leveling system, great PvP , crafting, and end game PVE content. Lots have tried to accomplish this, but none have yet gotten it right.
Information moved so much more slowly back then. Everyone knows about Wars in late vanilla now, but back then the info wasn't as widely known. Notice also how he says they had only one lock because locks were bad? We now know that Warlocks in vanilla actually scale well in DS/Ruin; but you have to take lots of them for ISB uptime and then they scale to the moon... We have the benefit of hindsight in 2017/2018 that they didn't have then.
See even 6 years ago these ppl didn't realize you take warriors and everything else is basically a bonus to buff the warriors. How'd people know durning original 😂
They usually were, it's just lack of knowledge of the general player base in vanilla. Back then barely anyone used the Bloodvine set as a caster, whereas we all now know that that's a must have if you wanna raid as a caster dps. Same goes for having a single shadow priest in the raid just for the 10% shadow damage they add which is a major increase to the dps of warlocks.
@hamsterwheel These guys were one of the best guilds around at the time, doubt they had a lack of knowledge. There was a reason people didnt bring hunters and locks to naxx
That's odd because I'm raiding naxx on a vanilla server right now, and the dps that always is on top is either warlocks, rogues, warriors or mages. It's not like locks are at the bottom of the dps, and we usually have around 6 to 8 locks in there. Giving them all a 10% dmg bonus with shadow weaving is huge, go ask any guild that is now raiding naxx on private servers and ask them if they bring a shadowpriest to the raid just for that buff. Chances are, they will all answer yes.
@@baroque. The math is 99% correct on serious private servers and I can confirm that Warlocks do very well if you go close to the hitcap + stack spellpower and worldbuffs and do your theorycraft homework. With all the (100% orgininal) juicy class mechanics, shadowbolts crit very high and if it wasn't for the ignite on Mages, Warlocks would much likely out dps them. Hunters on the other hand are not that good in late raiding phases. So the reason Nihilum raided with so many hunters, was probably because they simply lacked WL players.
