What do YOU guys think of Strays?!
For someone who was nervous about this being dissapointing. I honestly loved it. Even the poop and dick biting wasnt as graphic or vulgar as i was expecting. (thankfully because my stomach has limits) Hunter and Reggie are such good boys. I just felt a slight cringe but even if its lazy execution thats how dogs are. Gross, but you can't be to mad at them for it. Screw you Doug.
I wanted Doug to win at the end.
That shit was gay
I hate it. It's beyond raunchy, it's gross and cringey.
It's a hilarious movie, especially the parts after and when they eat the mushrooms that "taste like colors."
This was the first genuinely funny and enjoyable film I’ve seen in a long time. I usually find all raunch fest comedy movies funny but especially enjoy the ones with good character work and heart. Problem is you just don’t see many if any raunch fest movies anymore, let alone ones with good character work. There are so many I could name Ted (as mentioned), American Pie, Superbad, The Hangover, Euro Trip, Step Brothers, Anchorman etc etc. So Strays was a real rarity these days.
Totally! Good old fashioned stupid humour!
Nice to hear your take on this film, we worked really hard last year on this film and we’re all thrilled it’s finally out!
Thank you!
F-bomb dogs with endearing personalities and a lot of heart was an enjoyable mix for me. I really enjoyed Strays.
Awesome!!
@@BrandoCritic Heeey, Brandon! I'm currently editing a fun little video on the subject of cultural osmosis. In the movie reactions you've done, has there ever been a moment where you finally discover where a certain pop culture reference originated? Like a famous quote that you didn't know was from a movie. Your reactions are unlisted so I can't view them for my own research. The video features reactions from 22 other channels (so far) and I'd like to feature yours as well. I'm gonna send the vid to the various reactors as well cuz it's decently edited and fun to watch. So, if it got retweeted by some popular reactors (assuming they like it enough, big assumption😄), it'd be good exposure for all the channels featured.
Oh! The Glass Elevator in Willy Wonka ua-cam.com/video/-LNA7KYZyjU/v-deo.html
@@BrandoCritic Okay, why didn't YT notify me of your reply? But anyway, awesome. I'll send ya the vid before it's live. If you can think of any other instances, send 'em my way.
Just saw the movie tonight. Great story and I laughed til I cried. Best movie I've seen in awhile.
Awesome!
Good review.
I’m seeing this next week and I’m excited to see it, it looks hilarious from the trailers.
Also you heard of the unsolved mystery of the J’ba Fofi?
The first sighting of the creature happened in 1890, but the most famous account was by RK Lloyd who was with his wife in the Congo jungle in 1938 and reported a sighting of a huge spider with a 3 foot leg span.
The spider is typically described as being brown in color with a purple mark on the abdomen, but with a legspan of 3-5 feet. There were even some described sightings where the spiders layed thousands of white peanut sized eggs.
Although like Mothman, Bigfoot, and many other Cryptids it’s existence remains unknown.
Some scientist think the sightings might be mistaken for coconut crabs, which do inhabit the area and can have a 3-4 foot legspan and they look like big spiders
I haven’t heard of that
I saw this movie last Thursday with my dad and really liked it.
Also, my friend Gavin is going to college soon, so me and my friend Roman decided to hang out with him one last time, and we all went to go see Strays and we laughed our asses off.
I’m definitely buying this on DVD when it comes out or getting it as a Christmas present.
Awesome!
Hey Brandon, I used to watch Ted (2012), because I think it's superior to Strays (2023) and the fact that Ted (2012) is from Seth McFarlane the creator of Family Guy (1999), American Dad! (2005) and The Cleveland Show (2009).
That's right
I now want them to do a sequel to Strays where Reggie Bug Hunter and Maggie team up with 4 more strays an Australian Cattle dog (Blue Heeler) named Wilfred voiced by Hugh Jackman Toby the Black Labrador voiced by Jay Baruchel Wilfred's girlfriend Missy the Rough collie voiced by Maya Rudolph and Spitz the Pitbull voiced by Pitbull in order to take down Doug who is out for revenge after the events of the first film but gets motivated to exact revenge after seeing the phenomenon of the Australian animated series Bluey as a personal Attack on him
Let’s see how successful this film is
This movie had me crying laughing, and along with the whole theater, from the first 10 minutes when introducing him and his owner. Fucking hilarious.
The part when he got home with the boxes, and seeing flashbacks with the sad music is so god damn funny.
Totally agree with No Hard Feelings and Joyride. Joyride fucking sucked. They tried so hard to do their own style of Hangover. Especially with the weirdo.
No Hard Feelings was fucking hilarious.
Totally man!
I haven't seen Strays yet Brandon but it sounds cool a dog movie for adults. I haven't seen many dog movies but I'd like to see strays. I have 6 dogs 🐕 3 in the house I live in and 3 more at my parents house a 20 minute walk away
Very nice!
@@BrandoCritic Thanks 👍
I just saw it! It’s really raunchy lol definitely not for kids :) adults only
nice to hear about this movie, great review
when seeing the trailers for this movie
surprisingly, it seems like it has a good story, But it does have the same schtick usually in other comedies
whats strange, is that will ferrell comedies, if they are done correctly, will be more on the civilized side
when we think about famous R comedies that have only one r scene but have a Mostly PG tone
that is Planes ,trains and automobiles with steve martin and john candy
the pg-13 comedies that will ferrell does like holmes and watson and the other guys for example
these are well liked
i especially like his performance in the lego movie
these are all examples of terrific pg and pg-13 will ferrell comedies that appeal to everyone
even land of the lost and Elf are in that Pg and PG-13 Bunch for ferrell as well
as well as the film kicking and screaming
which is perfect : )
but this movie, falls in line with a whole list of raunchy movies
but it tends to balance things with a meaningful story
it seems kinda dumb that someone would Not like this film
its the dogs that are cute
if the movie had been a PG comedy instead of a R
people would be a lot more excitable from a positive tone to the humor
point being: the film is watchable
Hah yep! Definitely watchable
Glad you enjoyed it. This one just didn’t interest me although I can agree about your thoughts on joyride and no hard feelings.
Thanks Ryan! You are a great supporter! Hope you enjoyed Bad Boys For Life!
@@BrandoCritic Haven’t gotten a chance to watch it but I will definitely get to it. I saw it when it came out in the theaters and enjoyed.
Well I’m glad it part of your collection now!
I found it surprisingly funny
Me too Zach!
I gave this film a 6/10. Some of the jokes seemed just too desperate, some jokes were spot on.
I can understand that
Strays is really funny!
For sure!
I liked it but made the mistake watching it with my teen kid, I felt very uncomfortable!
Haha well, they’re gonna learn about all this stuff eventually
@@BrandoCritic I had the bird and bee talk but not the ding dong ringing and hard nipple 1🤣Too much for me at the time!
Hahaha 🤣
It’s a cool movie. It’s also hilarious. I really want a sequel because how funny it is.
Haha what else can you do with the story though?
I actually don’t know that’s a little bit confusing for a comedy. Usually the story was about bad owner equals bite. The dick off I don’t really know.
I originally thought Reggie and the gang would get adopted but since he likes the stray life what if he actually ends up reuniting with Doug's ex Girlfriend and enjoys being with her, but it also makes him teaching other lost dogs tricky because she wants to domesticate Reggie and doesn't want to lose the one creature that actively loved her/she cares about thus causing a dilemma.@@BrandoCritic It be kinda a nice callback involving the opening.
Good idea!
@@BrandoCritic Thanks. Just a little something I threw together ❤️ 😌
It was a funny movie
Glad you found it funny
This movie has been receiving a lot of hate, I dont know why. Ive seen a lot of deviantart pictures of just random characters angry at the movie, whats worse is that some of them were made before the movie even came out! The people who make these arts are either kids who dont know what theyre doing or people with either Hemophobia (The fear of blood) or Kakologophobia (The fear if swearing) or both. Someone else said she hated the movie because it was a rip off to the Air buddies franchise, those 2 movies have nothing in common, the only similarity they have is that they feature live action talking dogs. Someone else on deviantart wished that Reggie (the main character) was the villain of Secret life of pets 3, he cant! If Reggie was the villain, the movie wouldnt be great and would be hated because secret life of pets is a kids movie and reggie is a character from an adults movie, or even worse. So, thats my response to the Strays hatebase. Please leave a reply is you would like to.
Here’s my stance. You are allowed to like any movie you want for any reason. Every other persons opinion is just noise… it doesn’t matter. If you like the movie, then you like the movie. Nothing else to it!
@@BrandoCritic I do respect their opinions, but the thing is that some are hating on it for stupid reasons
My point is that nobody’s opinion matters… except yours. So let people love it or hate it for whatever reason… no matter how justified or unjustified… it doesn’t have any impact on your enjoyment or dissatisfaction of any movie
I quite liked this movie plus the films Villain Doug Is probably one of the more realistic villains for a talking dog movie as he is a selfish deadbeat loser who hates dogs and just blames everyone but himself for his life getting screwed over like he refuses to admit he ruined his life with his Decisions to cheat on his ex and refusing to let her take her dog with her not just to hurt her but also because he wanted to abuse Reggie for practicaly nothing but merely existing plus Doug is also a coward as he immaturly insulting dogs with offensive name calling as if he was a schoolyard bully Which wouldn't surprise me if he was one as a child though i do wish the film explained why Doug hates dogs But I do get it. The film is meant to show that not all villains are motivated by Anything traumatic as Doug is just evil because he's a dick and some people are just Rotten
I liked it too
I had so much fun with this movie and i think this is better comedy movie than Barbie.
Yeah i said it.
Great review Brandon and take care and stay safe 👍.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BrandoCritic Really enjoyed this movie.
They turn Jaime Fox to the dark side
What do you mean?
It was pretty funny movie 🎥🍿🍿🍿🍿
For sure!
Good boys (2019) have better jokes than strays
I definitely laughed here more, but I’m glad you liked Good Boys
