    *I'm an amateur rider, and **Latest.Bike** performed as expected. It was easy to assemble and adjust, and I like the grip-shift. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.*

    Fantastic review, man. I looked everywhere for a review such as yours when Timbuk2 announced these bags! I love this bag but I can’t seem to convince my wife to let me have 4 backpacks, haha. I love the buckles on their bottom. Also the little water bottle pouch looks very sturdy, unlike their old material they used to use for those pockets.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  7 років тому

      Thank you for watching! I agree, the buckles are definitely one of my favorite features I wish more bags had something like that! And you can never have too many backpacks! haha Maybe you and your wife could get a matching set of bags! =)

    This bike is easily the best MTB I've ridden so far ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Assembly was pretty self explanatory. To be fair though, I immediately swapped the derailleurs for some smoother Shimanos and thumb shifters instead of the stock twist shifters. The sheer size of this bike dwarfs most 26" bikes of the same class. I'm only 5'8" but I can sit comfortably with the saddle and suspension adjusted properly, even though my feet can just barely touch the ground. A small price to pay for such a beast. I love that Mongoose included TOOLLESS WHEELS, it makes transporting and techwork so much easier. The aluminum frame makes it so much lighter than I expected. In comparison, mine weighs only 2lbs more than the 24" my friend rides. I'm not the most in shape rider but even I can climb inclines like a breeze with this bike and it's massive wheels and 21 speeds.

    I have the deluxe version and I figured I asked since the regular version has similar features: how does the shoulder strap adjustment works? I dunno if I'm doing something wrong but I have to adjust the bag every couple days since the straps don't stay in place when I make it tight.

    I own this backpack, as of today. My Targus Commuter, one of the zippers is broken. I am not sure if I can repair. I happened to be outside HMV, Central Hong Kong. I took me a few minutes to pick out Timbuk2 Authority of the lines. I was looking for my tablet and I couldn't find it. I started to look around the room and came back to bag so discovered another zipper where my tablet is located. I think I will try to use it a lot and hopefully it help me with baggage fees and air tickets as I am planning to travel a lot more in the up coming year.

    Is this bag larger than the command bag? I’m looking for a bag that I can take as a personal item on flights. Thanks!

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 років тому

      Thank you for watching! I would say the command is still a little bit bigger and can handle bulkier items better, but if you’re looking for something slimmer this may be the better option. I think both would be fine to carry on but if you fill up the command a lot it might be a tight fit under some airplane seats. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags:)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for watching and yes i think this can work as a personal item on a variety of airlines (there may be some smaller stricter airlines where it might be a little iffy, but so far I haven’t run into any issues)

    Do you prefer the Authority or the Division? I don't need all the compartments of the Authority, but the small external pockets are useful- which the Division doesn't have.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 років тому +1

      Thank you for watching! I think both are great, but personally I prefer the look and smaller silhouette of the Division pack and I don't mind the lack of the smaller pockets because I use a lot of pouches to hold my smaller accessories. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

    Great review as always. In the video you referred a bit to the Command (since they indeed have similar designs), but how would you stack this pack against the Uptown? I'm deciding between the two for college, they have similar capacities and weigh almost the same so I'm interested to see which one you prefer.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  6 років тому +1

      thank you for watching and good question! Both are really great bags and I think it will depend how many thick textbooks or bulkier items you think youll normally carry on a daily basis. So I think the Uptown holds a little more stuff and is better for bulkier items whereas the Authority Pack has a sleeker and more modern look. So if space is the bigger concern I would lean towards the Uptown. Not sure if you have already seen it, but If you want to have a better idea of how much the uptown can hold i actually did an in depth video comparing the command and uptown a little while back =) Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!

    • @karnaghan
      @karnaghan 6 років тому

      Hmmm interesting insight! In that case, given the same load placed in both backpacks, would you envision the Authority or the Uptown as being more comfortable to carry (or equally as good)? And which pack do you personally think would 'appear' more bulky despite carrying the same load?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  6 років тому +1

      I think the Uptown might be a little more comfortable for carrying a heavier load, but both are pretty comfortable to wear. As for the appearance I think the Uptown might also appear a bit bulkier when loaded out whereas the authority pack is really designed to maintain a slimmer profile =)

    Do you think a 17" Dell laptop would fit in the back padded laptop compartment? I'm having trouble determining what fits and I can't exactly go to the store and look at it.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  6 років тому

      Thank you for watching! I think it will depend alot on what type of dell it is, so if its a thicker laptop it might be a little bit of a tight fit, but height wise it should be ok. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag =)

    Hey! great review, I was wondering how you would compare this back pack to your most recent review of the Topo designs core pack. I've been stuck between these two because they fairly similar capacity, but I like the look and aesthetic of topo more, while I like the organization of the timbuk2 more, but Im not sure if ill even utilize the organization to the fullest.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 років тому +1

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I'm glad the video was helpful! Both are definitely great bags, but the Core Pack will be able to hold more in my opinion and it is much better if you have bulkier items you need to carry. The authority pack has a fair amount of space but it is really slim. So for the organizational style and capacity i would lean towards the core pack. With that in mind, the laptop compartment and the back panel on the authority pack are much better so if those are important to you it may be worth sticking with the Authority. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer abou tthe bags =)

    i've been looking for a new backpack and i'm really sold on this except for the water bottle pocket which is potentially a deal breaker for me. i use a 3.5 inch diameter water bottle and i was wondering if it would fit in the pocket?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  5 років тому

      Thank you for watching! And I can’t say for sure if that diameter would fit, my guess is you could maybe squeeze it in but it would be pretty tight. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag:)

    Hello
    What are the dimensions for the water bottle?
    The compartment for the laptop is bottom padded or just elevated?
    I read some reviews and said that the back feels weird (like solid/hard but in a bad way), and the bottom straps have a jingling sound when you walk, what are your comments about that?
    If the command backpack is much cheaper than the authority, which one would you prefer or recommend?
    Thanks

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  7 років тому +2

      Thank you for watching! The laptop compartment is more elevated than padded, but the bottom of the bag is still pretty thick as well. As far as the back of the bag, I thought it was pretty comfortable and I didn't notice that it felt hard. If anything it felt a little softer than many of the other timbuk2 bags I have tried in the past. I don't know if that means that they used less padding or if it is just a different material, but overall I thought be bag was pretty comfortable to wear. Thats a good question about the jingling on the bottom straps, if you're walking somewhere quiet like a library or a quiet work area it may be a little noticeable (it's not too much more noisy than many backpacks I have seen that have metal zipper pulls), but I would think that walking around outside in the city it would be hard to really notice it. As for the command vs the authority, if you don't care too much about the more modern look on the authority or having the Authority's bottom straps, I think the command is a better deal. It's a really similar bag, but cheaper and still great quality, organization and capacity. I would also recommend taking a look at the Uptown which is another bag with a similar capacity, organization and price to the command. Hope that helps a little and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags =)

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  6 років тому

      Thank you for watching! and yes I definitely understand the high price tags on some of these bags can be tough, at least with a Timbuk2 bag you are getting something that will be really good quality and its great they also have some lower priced options that are pretty nice as well such as the Command and Uptown backpacks if you are interested in something similar to this. Hope that helps and please let me now if there are any additional questions I can help answer =)
