- Immediate Threat CQB - ITCQB is a hybrid system, developed through time by Eli Feildboy, the founder of Project Gecko. Tight and confined spaces or L-shaped rooms can be difficult to clear with a teammate without flagging each other. In the second instalment of the "Pro's guide to CQB" series, Eli talks about what we can do to prevent friendly fire by diving into the details of footwork, body contact and positioning in any situation. The scariest thing about this video is that you might have to work with someone that's never seen it.
I'll be keeping this video saved and ready as required watching for any potential future team members for that very reason.
If you're working with anyone in this environment then I would expect you and that person to already have training, unless you and the other person are just being stupid and running around with guns you don't know how to use.
@@matthewduran5096 Unfortunately American Police for example receive little to no CQB training before being thrown into dangerous situations like this.

@@khakipeach2128 battlefield is not a game where you can do that because the gameplay is too fast: people run around and move/jump around too much for you to try such realistic movements. It might works with campers or with more static games like R6 but definitely not battlefield or cod
@@Nick-rg8oz i learned that the hard way. Although some of this still works
Note to self:
1:25 Easy corners
2:58 Why does flagging and friendly fire still happen with highly trained personell?
A: A CQB environment is forcing us to work with too many guns in a very short proximity.
B: Even though we tend to think we will be reactive, we will actually be reactive in a realistic scenario.
4:15 Hard corners
6:23 2-Step rule
7:34 L-Shaped rooms
8:21 Principle 1 (P1): Earn the shot. (Either use P2 or P3 to achieve this)
9:25 Example of how teams usually using dynamic entry stops using it when meeting resistance
10:27 Principle 2 (P2): On-line rule / 2-Step rule
13:15 L-Shape room issue: No complete domination from outside
14:12 P2 Three-man drill
16:23 L-Shape room issue: Space / momentum / segmentation
18:26 Reason for training friendly fire prevention
20:29 L-Shape room issue: Friendly fire
22:30 Principle 3 (P3): Muzzle before flesh (MBF). (Elbow/shoulder touch with chicked elbow)
26:53 P3 Two-man drill
30:20 Triggering a Last Point of Cover and Concealment. (Flinching at observational contact).
In Project Gecko's (PG) system there are 3 methods to attack past this point. This is not covered in the video, but I will just guess 3 methods based on other PG videos and personal experience:
A: Re-engage apex from a different height. (Fast but risky. If it doesn't work I'd go over to B or C. Example: ua-cam.com/video/1PMHdE1ZZeE/v-deo.html ).
B: Back-off and throw in a flash / shock. (Enemy likely has tunnel vision on your apex and will stay in-sight of it, or retreat to another room).
C: Back-off and find another entry. (Try finding other doors or hatches. Alternatively make your own entry (destroy wall / floor / ceiling).
34:37 P3 Two-man drill continued...
36:25 Example of failing P1: Shooting from the depth
38:55 P2+P3 Three-man drill with obstacles. (Remember to prefer P2 over P3)
42:26 Why do we train these drills? (P1, P2, P3).
42:57 If you really don't have space for P3, stay behind your mate.

That's why work with team is hell important, specially when you are 3+
Small team of 2 peoples is perfectly manageable all you need to do is stay together and be informed. Once you start adding peoples it's disaster since you need to keep coms clear, no talk if it's pointless, have plan of raid, keep roles on point, gear checkout if somebody have better hear he is going to be point man if not then move part to part and keep clearing map until you get where you need to be.
I mean you really can write a book about team and tactic but without proper training it's not going to work specially you need to know peoples that you are working with and how they respond to dangerous situations and then drill and drill and drill :D

What he is teaching is advanced CQB, not every grunt will be taught this in the regular military or police force.

Almost felt like I was watching an extended 'training montage' from a movie. Top quality photography to go with a top quality education.
At 28:48 I'm very pleased to see this instructor make this a teachable moment. He quickly corrects the student sweeping the front guy's head, and immediately switches gears to teaching the moment rather than shaming the student. Very professional instructor.
So many good solid points during the video of training and I'll admit that I'd listen to him without hesitation
His knowledge and instruction is far better than any that I ever had while in the military

so many good points. i wish i had this guy during my training.
Earning the shot should be standard for every department. That should just be the gold standard. One of the best training bits I've seen in years and have spread to so many officers.
His ability to use the props/people around him to improv a real-life scenario is quick, clear, understandable and amazing. I've been in training before where the instructor wasn't able to paint the picture well to execute a quick scenario. This guy is world-class trainer.
Absolutely outstanding information. I wish I had this info back when I was in the Army in the 90's. I would have drilled my men like crazy on these techniques. We did basic reaction to contact drills getting online from various formations, by the dynamic entry training was not as advanced as this and left much to be desired. I'm too old for this stuff now as I've long been out of the military, but it's awesome watching true professional operators honing their skills with the most advanced techniques. It's like watching professional athletes training. I think it gives civilians a bigger appreciation and a small glimpse of how much professionalism and training it takes to become a top-level soldier.
sorry, clicked the down button, didin't mean to. Call it friendly fire.
Thank you for your service. I'm currently in and I agree with you. We still do the same old tactical training. I'm 11b and I want to constantly learn more so I can teach my guys everything. Thing is. Man, these videos look like legit movies! I'm not even in the military but I watch all of these all the way through because they're so well done.
@Dominic Easton Watching a video doesn't give you a good understanding of tactics. It gives the illusion of good understanding. Physical practice is absolutely necessary. You need to do something and you need to do it very often until you can actually use it in the kind of situation you're describing.
If you didn't practice these things often, the stress of the situation will fuck up your "good understanding" of something you merely saw in a video.
@@Insertnamehere188 yep. Develop consistency in what you do.
Muscle memory and repetitions will always be the go-to for just about anything in life.
@@GaldoranGailthros so true. I can only speak from a martial arts perspective, but anything not "automated"/muscle memory flies out the window once stress sets in. Many people can learn a simple throw in the matter of minutes, but shove them around and even bring them into the situation where the throw would work right out of the box - nothing, blank. They're dumbfounded.
People often don't realize how fast any conscious thought is gone once adrenaline kicks in.
Only through automation it will work in a stressful situation.

Fact: friendly fire is not friendly
"friendly fire" its not about who is shotting , its just about the direction they are coming , and if you should shot back .
what you mean is:

@@Florence00pi Murphy law's would be the contrary. #1 : Friendly fire is gonna happen is you move "tactically" like a one man squad when you got a whole unit around you.

I used these tactics in airsoft in a cqb and it was extremely useful teaching my team these tactics and it was highly successful
A few years ago I was at a field training exercise in the military where we had a fatal fratricide incident caused by someone in the high ready with the safety off. This class covered that valuable bit of information.

amazing and great teacher
The instructors footwork is incredible. Very balanced. You being the platform. His stance makes his firing, accurate. Shoulders are straight. You learn so much l, just by watching. And participating.
This is one of the best CQB videos I've seen. I was trained way back in the 90's and communication is the #1 problem you face due to noise discipline, design of building, confusion, separation, excessive noise (flash bangs, explosions, gunfire), miscommunication due to tribal knowledge, etc. Improper technique is the #2 reason for failures to occur in the strategy of taking over a structure. Radios are or can be as much an enemy as a friend. So many times we had hot mics, damage to our comms, improper frequency changes, bad crypto, etc and that was part of the training by the cadre. They'd do things on purpose to get us to leverage more than a single comm method. Accuracy really isn't even close to an issue. I've seen firsthand how quickly a team will stop moving due to an unknown unknown. You quickly learn that negotiation and CQB are very tied at the hip. That's why the sniper/mar can be crucial in successful takeover operation. Murphy can totally butt fuck an operation faster than you can pull the trigger.
You got my respect bro..

It’s amazing how well R6 Siege lays some groundwork for CQB, I’ve never done this stuff personally but I’ve done the classwork in my head while playing a game - easy and hard corners, strong side weak side, box, corners, and tubulars.
