Semi-Hollow Guitar Set Up and Nut work - a real pretty 2007 Epiphone Sheraton II

- This nice ebony Epiphone Sheraton II came into my shop this week and needed a string change, set-up and some minor nut work. I did find that the bridge saddle should be replaced - damaged - so maybe that will be in another video. The output jack and switch were loose so they were tightened up and out the door she went!

Fab video! Have just bought exact same guitar 2007 ebony! Is tight but can get a .025 guage under at the 8th fret and the low e is 2.5mm and the high e 2.00mm at the 12th. So am thinking has been setup this way. Plays super clean though action a bit high for my liking but am hesitating on adjusting as no buzzing at all and super sweet tone…🤔
If you are happy with it, don't do anything
@@ManotickGuitarTech would prefer it down to 0.12 relief, 1.75mm and 1.5mm but only because that’s my usual go to 🤣 yes thanks will leave it and see how get on - then maybes at next string change…..
Whats the pencil lead for?
You can use it to "lube" up the nut slots so the strings slide easier
Hi! So I actually bought a used 2001 Sheraton II Pro this past weekend and tried doing my 3rd ever setup on it. The first two were on solid bodies (Strat, Les Paul) and the set up tutorials I watched said to have .006 relief at the 6th fret. I tried doing that again for the Sheraton and I ended up turning the truss rod way too much because I couldn't quite get a .006 gap. It seemed to stop at .012 like in your video. I took it to a repair shop and I'm waiting to hear back if I royally screwed the guitar up or not. I couldn't find much info before the setup on what the factory specs should be on a Sheraton. Where did you find the .012 measurement spec? I really wish I had found your video before I started my setup!
Hi, Alex. I am sure you have not ruined your guitar. .010-.012" is standard formal electric guitars. Only really high end acoustics will have a neck relief of about. 008-.009". Just set it to .010" and it will be fine. I hope you have subscribed to my channel?
What about action ? That’s the only reason I stopped in this vid lol
Haven't looked at this video in a long time... bass E should be at 4/64th at the 12th fret; treble E should be at 3/64ths. Thanks for watching!
Nooo, that music ruined the video for me 🙈🙉
LOL... trying something different
@@ManotickGuitarTech no offense but i liked the chilly vibes without it. ;))
@@Gaslight.Guitar I had a lot of background noise in that video so i thought the music might mask it a bit
@@ManotickGuitarTech actually that was what i thought :)
