I (American male) went to a barber in China that was very local - they didn’t even speak English and not near any tourist or major expat community. I asked for a haircut and provided some info but they gave me something very different and completely Chinese! So yeah, the advise in the video to go to place that is knowledgeable on foreign hair is GREAT advise
Lmao I also went to a barber in China that does not speak English. I also have a almost balding top. So I asked him on Google translate to take it all off. 5 minutes after I started walking home, I noticed he left the top part uncut. I looked ridiculous for the next few days 🤣
@@herewego9939 for me they cut the sides way to short despite me asking for a 2 blade and they didn’t fade it…it was was just one thickness all the way to the top and then bam, long hair. No fade. Think N Korea Kim’s haircut (though top was different)
I am soo glad this will never apply to me, that one proper haircut i had was 22 years ago when I got married @31. Balding top - it's easier to just use the trimmer myself, no fading, no length. First I had to make up for my wife's hair, she spends about 6 hours a month at the salon, plus the washing at home...so on average we still have proper done hair I guess above average spending.
@herewego9939 google translate is usually quite bad at translating English to chinese😂. Like my Chinese teacher from high school always said that she can tell if we use Google translate because the structure.
When I was in Japan a few years back my parents encouraged me to get a haircut in Kyoto. I did, in a little family hair saloon somewhere on a side street coming back from Kinkaku-ji shrine. It was this very friendly, sweet old lady that cut my hair, and I kid you not, one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. I cut it just below my chin, and have very fine, wavy hair, that becomes curlier with humidity. It was a rainy October day and a frizzy mess, and yet, she was amazing. Between my broken Japanese from my japanese friends in Germany, drawings and images, it turned amazing. I still remember her to this day and look back very fondly to the whole experience. Her husband even took pictures, wanted to put them in their little album with hairstyles customers have gotten. I hope they are doing great and had that trip to Okinawa 😊 My only regret is that I don't have the name of the place to post it here!
At least he noticed. Once I didn’t when my then GF had hers cut. That didn’t go down well. I tried to explain its because she sometimes ties it up, wears hairbands, plaits it, so I’m used to it always looking different. Apparently not good enough 😅
I'm a woman and I don't notice haircuts or beard trims/shaves on almost anyone! I fully sympathize, because some people get MAD about it. If I want someone to notice, I'll specifically say something. Like, who has the time to fight about hair?
Awww I was wondering where Shun went! He got a girlfriend 🥰🥰🥰 and a beautiful & sweet one too! You both made his grandma so happy! That is a priceless gift to give!
Lol this reminded me of my husband when we were a few months together and i was at the hairsalon and even get a slightly redish colour on and a very short cut... he didn't recognised me at first because we met also outside and as i was walking in his direction i had to stand directly in front of him and say hello to be seen and than after a few milliseconds recognised 😂
Beautiful ❤Love the new look on you! 🥰 I wish I could rock a new hair! Well…obviously nothing says that I can’t…it’s just the matter of me knowing how to do hair and I’m just not talented…nor do I have a lot of time either…it’s fine, maybe one day!
What I would like to see is you learning as many Japanese cuisines for your Boyfriend, cook for his family, and cook for your family. Wouldn’t mind seeing you perform Japanese Tea ceremony too with your BF
Funnily enough when i needed a haircut whilst in Tokyo earlier this year, i was able to go Shinka in Roppongi - a chain of Japanese hair salons that started in Sydney Australia and opened a satellite salon back in the home country. They have stylists who have worked in Australia and most speak some level of English. Great salon, highly recommended.
The best haircuts I've gotten in my life were back when I lived in Korea. The hairstylists always asked western or korean style before doing anything. My hair is fragile and always gets damaged in western salons, however I never experienced any breakage or issues going to Korean salons
Also helps to speak Japanese. Got scammed by a salon. They seemed really good on a local review website. The place checked out real good. But they assigned a junior stylist who while he seemed to know what was asked for... In the end the results were disappointing. The lengths were uneven, not as easy to manage. Japanese are really good at doing cuts where you can wash and go without spending an hour blowing it out. I do want to know where they got those ultra thin hair dryers. He can stack and use two in one hand. Looked really cool. Anyway. Was a fun experience.
I lived in Okinawa for 2 years in the military and went to the beauty salon on the base to get the end of my hair trimmed. I had a blunt cut. I will never forget when 4 to 6 Japanese stylists surrounded my hair after it was washed, speaking in Japanese, and most of them had thinning shears! I have thick hair (and a lot of it). I finally got my hair trimmed. Whew! When we went to the hair salon on base, we always looked for an American hair stylist. If they were busy, they could explain to the Japanese stylists what we want.
She made the hair cut they make to all the foreign women because they don't know anything else. A bob cut and two moves of flat iron as an option. 😒 My friends were already complaining about that 20 years ago.
my hair is about as long as yours before you had it cut, but only the crown. everything else is shaved. i usually wear it up bc it's easier to manage or tuck into a hat. it's so thick and course that if/when i do wear it down it's not really obvious that it's mostly shaved underneath. people who normally see me in a hat prob wouldn't know i have long hair
Bf is lucky that your'e pretty. He looks like a scrawny little kid with a goddess beside him. If you decide to have kids, pray that they have your looks and his heart. 😊
I cut my hair myself with a trimmer sometimes asking my mum for a little help when she is around. It has been a week now I am supper happy with the results of my last self haircut.
I am northern European with very thin hair, a lot of it but thin. Even I have difficulties finding a good hairstylist where I live. I finally found the best one! Because she has the exact same hair type as me :)
He's a lucky guy to have such a wonderful girlfriend
You don’t know what it’s like when the camera is off. Stop dreaming.
@chezchezchezchez That's a Virgin for you
@@chezchezchezchez that's some real shit right there lol
There must be a reason. He's talented maybe, he spoils her perhaps, or he's super rich 😂
@@maikure He has a giant chopstick. Or she was tired of jerks and wanted to date a nice guy, I've seen it many times before.

Nice! To be real, though, you'd look fantastic in any hairstyle.
You are so gorgeous with either hair style. 👍😍

Not getting what you want at the barber is standard fare anywhere you go in the world!😂

I normally dont like shorter hair,
But you look beautiful with new cut👍

Awesome advice ... Same girlfriend different hair 🎉
Why are you so perfect?

Seeing his reaction making me laughing out loud. For real! 🤣
I think he got a new bf 🙈 jk it looks amazing! 😊
Happens in the USA also. They tend to cut your hair based on their own style, even if you tell them.
I have the same hair color as you had😂🥳

Yep. It looks pretty good on her fortunately, but it’s just the same old thing.
I fell for the clickbait. I’d say I’m better than this, but clearly, I am not.

I knew it wasn't true because no man would ever break up with her.
Let's be real, she'd even look good with a shaved head.
Well I wouldn’t go that far, haha.
可愛すぎだろ
Hehe cutee! 🤭❤️
Looking very pretty
You are rly pretty girl 🤩🤗😍
gross
Looks great 👍
Love your hair!!☺️💐
Where’s this salon at?!💕
Stunned that the new girlfriend was actually the same person as the old girlfriend, felt cheated!
Pretty! You are Super Kawaii! Life in Japan is good for you!
Both are wonderful ambassadors representing Japan at you tube in residence
Wow, you look different, Patricia. Is Shun will have his new girlfriend? If not, it is a joke?
I loved sozo in harajuku/omotesando! I went there like 7 times and it's great
Wait, you have a boyfriend?! 😂
