I just bought this car XLE model and it’s amazing with so many features and the nice stylish looks, it doesn’t look so common like other suv cars that u see in every street lol. And to those that think this car isn’t good looking they need to grow outta their shell and adapt to the future, people always complaining when something that looks diff but that’s the innovation.
Not worth the value overall! Lacks much standard features that should be available to inhance the experience of a more comfortable driving experience ovetall and just failed inside out hands down"!!!!! Recently...test drived it to confirm my overall judgement that truly dissatisfied my taste to purchase two of these limited editions recently that left me disappointed!
Very detailed review. I saw this a while back and it helped because I just bought a 2019 C-HR XLE in a beautiful 2 tone paint color last week! We love the look of this car and the 2 things that really sold us on the it were (1) the legendary Toyota quality and (2) all the amazing safety features. Simply put, we wanted a car that would outlast its warranty and Toyotas are famous for that and the C-HR has safety features that are only available on cars costing thousands of dollars more. The 144 HP engine is a pretty good engine that gets great gas mileage and "Sport" mode does a great job of making the most of this engine and really does make it feel sporty. A sports car it is not but that is not why we bought it. I No one ever mentioned this but with Toyota you have the option of Toyota TRD parts to enhance the engine and the performance of the car. I will definitely be adding those options to our car to maximize its sporty nature while at the same time not voiding my warranty. Again we love this car and when I look at it in my driveway it is like I brought the car show home with me :)
@@moeanthony9308 Yep! It has been my daily driver for the last 5 years and I have had zero problems with it. Everything including the OEM TRD performance parts have given me no problem. I am at a little over 43,000 miles from 17 miles when I picked it up new. I am actually taking it in for an oil change this week. The car still looks and drives like new. One of the best choices I made when I got it was to get the Toyota brand PPF (paint protection film) to protect the front and hood from paint chips and that film has done a wonderful job protecting the car. This car is a keeper and being a Toyota I should continue to have no issues in the years to come.
In Australia, we have only 1.2 Turbocharged petrol engine across the range. The models are FWD and AWD (Koba is top of the line). The standard features LEDs (foglamps and daytime running lights and taillights and turning signals) and Toyota safety features are all standards. The AWD Koba includes power folding mirrors, GPS with School zone alerts, red lights and speed camera alerts prompt you to slow down according to speed limits and town centers alerts with speed restrictions and real times traffic alerts e.g. accidents, traffic congestion, road blocks and constructions. This you have to setup. The best features of AWD is Active Yaw Control (torque vectoring) and active torque transfer system (transmission) and trailer sway control. All helps to aids to control better in rains and wet roads and curvy roads. Rivals don't offer any of this features.
I bought a XLE last month and really like this car. It has some fun features and I really like the duo tone colors. Getting 30 MPG. No quality issues. Don’t forget to ask for your $500 Toyota loyalty when trading in. Very nice car and Fun to drive for under $25K, with optional extended warranty.
Highly considered the Toyota CHR. Very impressed with the cool design. Very stylish and futuristic, but the more I look at it, it's just a shell. Features lack in comparison to the Hyundai Kona. The Kona has heads up display, Infinity Speaker system, sunroof, LED lighting, etc. Also, not happy that the CHR left out all the Android users. It only supports Apple Carplay. They are missing a whole market out there with all the Android users. I want to purchase the Toyota CHR, but I cant this year. Maybe 2020 or 2021 they will revamp the features.
One reason is that Toyota has super high standards for things not failing, which is the reason they have been so late to the game with smartphone integrations. Smartphones tend to be iffy with lots of things, and constantly changing with periodic updates. That's just how they are in the marketplace pushing the envelope for features on a phone/internet communication device. Toyota just didn't want to deal with it till now, and are still testing and testing and finding faults with smartphones that are not comfortable to them. Unbelievable who much testing they do with their designs and machines... Perhaps Android OS programmers can learn from them, and in a few years have this integrated to the Toyota Entune systems too. Not saying Apple is better, but I guess Apple has agreed to Toyota's requirements, and vice versa.
That's one nice looking car, but no Android Auto?? Come on Toyota. That alone would make me not consider this. If you have an Android phone, why buy a new car like this if it's missing a nice and useful tech feature that other competitors will have?
Some of their vehicles are getting Android Auto in 2020. But that's mostly the SUV's, and trucks. The next car I'm getting will be a Honda Fit EX or Civic EX. Toyota is stupid for not including Android Auto.
The major limitation of the C-HR is an anemic powertrain (144hp) that comes only with a CVT transmission. The 0-60mph was not mentioned either. I think the Corolla Hatchback is a much better driver's vehicle. A manual transmission is offered and it has a hp rating of 168.
Yes, I really dont care much about the trims and others, what I like about this car is the Aero designs suspension and it's standard safety features, Too bad It lacks a big time Engine Power, so I am still waiting for the 168HP power and a Geared CVT Transmission like what the corolla Hatchback has right now, unless they are not putting this..., This car is only as good as my WallPaper in my Computer... XD...
There maybe a hybrid model coming with powertrain and all wheel drive system they use in Lexus UX. It will make this vehicle more competitive. Hope Toyota brings it... Price range of 27000 - 30000 would be nice.
Ummm... European and Japanese version is a 1.2L Turbo (116hp) or a 1.4L Hybrid (122hp) ...neither of them make more power than the USA edition 2.0L NA... Though AWD is a nice touch for those who have icy winters...
I just bought a Toyota CHR few month ago but the GPS function and the blutooth music on the screen are not avalaible but its a 2019 car ? I don't know why ?

Elton Elzee well the Highlander redesigned and updated before the CH-R came out. So I'm guessing the 2020 Highlander will get the powered-folding mirrors
I find this to be the case with Toyota. They will have great features on some cars like when the corolla was originally refreshed several years ago and they had standard LED headlights. Yet, some of the higher end limited models of different vehicles in their line didn’t offer it at all. I always found it odd that some of their cheaper cars have some great features they aren’t available in their other vehicles, even if it’s a higher trim and more expensive model.
Chris Mansker yes!! And the Corolla also had available turning indicators on the side mirrors but the Camry didn’t . I know the Camry was out 2 years before that Corolla but they could have included that on that big refresh for 2015

I did, I ended up buying the Civic 2018 Hatch, the trunk is a plus, very useful, and excellent mpg. I was about to get the Insight, I was very close, but I did not, I have no much experience with Hybrids, and felt it was a little laggy and the dealer had the touring and the most basic model. I am planning to get the 2019 RAV 4, completely redesigned, so will get two cars, one for me and for my wife, yet to see the price. Cheers
There is a Hybrid version of the CHR, I'm currently driving it. its not available in america? I'm able to achieve 25km/L for fuel consumption easily. Without traffic, I am able to achieve 28km/L

All around Changes,, however not impressed with the Black, anything causes it to scratch. Not a Good Move. Also Am not a Fan of Moon Roofs. My last vehicle went up 47.00 every 6 mos. just due to having a Moon Roof. Due to the issues with many of them. Not saying this car is all bad,, just a couple negatives. This is only my opinion,, I am sure others will not agree. However you do present a vehicle in Great Detail.
Beautiful vehicle I like your review. Your background music almost reminds me of the Electra woman and Dyna girl theme music from the 70s. LOL but it's cool
Never get a first year production model! I regret it! Got the 2018 model and at the time there was no leather seats option, the key fob sucks/ no range! Old ass scion screen! And a rear view mirror back up camera! Not worth it :/
Because in the USA we don't need it for lack of space reasons or Ferris wheel parking structures, but more for moving the neat little Batman puddle lights at night :D
Looks like a good car although the excessive amounts of gloss black in the interior and with the only transmission available being a CVT in most of the vehicles in this class is very disappointing. I know the vehicles are called crossovers by their manufacturers but I find them to be more like slightly lifted hatchbacks.
@@keveb4724 and quite a lot more expensive too. But I guess the thing about this car is being much lower priced than a RAV4 with similar list of features.
I dont understand why this CHR didnt use the same 2.0 engine like corolla/UX.. 168hp is always better than 144hp.. People complaining about the design. Well the design is either you love it or hate it
C-HR looks amazing but as a New England driver we deal with a lot of snow in the Winter. Being only front wheel drive would you say it's not good with snow?
FWD vehicles often still preform well in snow, but if you're planning on driving it through really deep stuff, then having AWD would probably be useful to you
Not really. It seems like the combined the 4Runner and the Highlander, downsized the mixture, and here's the offspring (the 2019 RAV4). Although more specifically, they inspired the new RAV4's design from the Future Toyota Adventure Concept that was shown by the end of last year... ...and the execution overall was done right in my opinion.
why is the fuel economy so awful i'd like to know, plus the engine literally screams climbing hills here in the village i live in south wales uk. any tips would be grateful
Love my 2018 XLE premium C-HR. wish I had that radio console in mine though but I don't hate they took the camera out of the mirror. I love that in my car.
Now you have in US the same finish as European one, but still no full LED front and rear lamps, no full leather and no JBL audio, no Safety sense... strange ! is the hybrid model sold in US BTW ?
The look of this vehicle is polarizing. I would definitely choose a Honda HRV over this one if I'm in the market for one of these small crossover. Even though I am not a big fan of the HRV myself but at least it offer all-wheel drive as an option and a less polarizing looks.
I traded my 2019 hr-v in for a 2019 ch-r limited. Hr-v climate controls are awkward and distracting. Infotainment was blah. The noisy wipers and annoying rear hatch mechanism finally pushed me over the edge. The Ch-r is just lovely to drive in comparison. Never missed awd on the Honda or the ch-r.
The 2019 Toyota CH-R is a very unique S.U.V. and through this briefing interview it really seem to have fallen short on back space, sun-viser extention over the side panels of each front and passenger side seatings! Really thought this S.U.V. in XTE or Limited came in a 6 cylinder version for better powered handling in all terrain weather. What a total disappointment altogether in available features for a small S.U.V. that suppose to be fully equipped to satisfy all small truck enthusiasts into an amazing feeling of true expertise matched in the truest availability in expectations of features that would lead all competition in performance, "but failed totally, overall Toyota"! Recently...I truly was inclined to purchased two of these S.U.V. recently and now have changed my mind to go with a different brand where features, performance, and fuel efficiency are better overall for the value market of the truest satisfaction of customer quality altogether! *(Sorry Toyota It Failed)* *(Going With A Better Brand)* *(Not worth The Value Period)* *(Time To Change Brands)*

To compare this CHR with the HRV, compare the limited trim to the touring trim in order to be a fair comparison
I would like to see one with a bigger horsepower option. Maybe next year.

C-HR looks amazing but as a New England driver we deal with a lot of snow in the Winter. Being only front wheel drive would you say it's not good with snow?
FWD vehicles often still preform well in snow, but if you're planning on driving it through really deep stuff, then having AWD would probably be useful to you
Good review needs an awd option and a turbo option
Turbocharged engine in Japan is a 1.2L with less power than this 20L NA for USA.
Nice car my parents driving one same color nice high seat. Good job Toyota
What Toyota was thinking for the 2019 RAV4 : Lets make an Avalon mixed in with a Corolla iM.
I'm very upset my 2019 don't have the bottom high beam lights. I have to get them installed1💔🤦🏾♂️
buzzy buzzy same here how much you paid for???
@@mauriciohernandez3721 I had 0 down with good credit
Nice review, but once you get past the radio/speakers turn off the music. Very distracting!
I enjoy watching your videos,very well explained,got a new fan.two thumbs up 👍👍

That depends on your finances lol
Lol well it’s $343 to lease an LE with only first month payment due at signing or $ 279 for 84mos to buy it
Love my 2018 XLE premium C-HR. wish I had that radio console in mine though but I don't hate they took the camera out of the mirror. I love that in my car.
Can I connect my phone and play downloaded music without mobile data?
Yeah
Ok thx
Has to be the smallest backup cam of all time. Weird sincenthere is a big touchscreen in the car. C'mon toyota all this tech and no surround view cam?
Can u get sirris radio
Great review as always 👍 can't wait for the 2019 nissan altima nissan made it better
Why no sun roof
When you said Sunroof N/a on all trims that was the end of this Show. I rather walk agai nto the dealer and see in person again.
Anybody know how much it costs to lease one of these?
Jose Rodriguez yes. I just leased today for $343 with all fees rolled in except first month payment. 36 months & 12k miles per year
I still wish this vehicle had AWD cuz I need that where I live.
Now you have in US the same finish as European one, but still no full LED front and rear lamps, no full leather and no JBL audio, no Safety sense... strange ! is the hybrid model sold in US BTW ?
No we do not have the hybrid here
It’s still a case of smaller equals cheaper. I want a small vehicle with all the bells and whistles.
Can you review a Kia Soul Turbo? :)
We don't review Kias right now but we might start soon
No AWD is discouraging 🤔. The design is awesome though. 144 hp not good.
Disappointed that it is not AWD. Will have to look elsewhere.
Nice hobby! Your fathers company? :-))
UK spec has AWD
The 2019 Toyota CH-R is a very unique S.U.V. and through this briefing interview it really seem to have fallen short on back space, sun-viser extention over the side panels of each front and passenger side seatings!
Really thought this S.U.V. in XTE or Limited came in a 6 cylinder version for better powered handling in all terrain weather.
What a total disappointment altogether in available features
for a small S.U.V. that suppose to be fully equipped to satisfy all small truck enthusiasts into an amazing feeling of true expertise matched in the truest availability in expectations of features that would lead all competition in performance, "but failed totally, overall Toyota"!
Recently...I truly was inclined to purchased two of these S.U.V. recently and now have changed my mind to go with a different brand where features, performance, and fuel efficiency are better overall for the value market of the truest satisfaction
of customer quality altogether!
*(Sorry Toyota It Failed)*
*(Going With A Better Brand)*
*(Not worth The Value Period)*
*(Time To Change Brands)*
LED fog lights, but no LED Headlights?? Seriously Toyota...
No AWD????? 🙄 this is crazy. Will have to go with Honda
Nice Nissan Juke
Esse carro é um espetáculo.
Can I have one for free? LOL Very nice car, it would be like if the Toyota Matrix evolved in to something majestic.
26 grand? you gotta be kidding me
Dope
