    I bought the XLE premium in blizzard pearl 4 months ago and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed, it is a super fun car to drive and I get a lot of compliments on the style, functions and ride. I was sad they did not have the option of a sun/moon roof but despite that fact there is a lot I love about it that outweighs that con

      That's amazing! White is a great colour. The contrast with the black accents really makes it look sharp. I'm still impressed. The CHR has features that are still not found in other Toyota vehicles and the electronic parking brake is just classy. Congratulations on your CHR!

    Break hold function seems really handy when coming to traffic lights or to steep climb / hill. This car is something I've had my eye on since last year and is something I plan on buying end of this year and everything I read about it just makes it even better. Can't wait to get my hands on one now.

    I bought the C-HR with the premium trim about 2 weeks ago. I LOVE this car. The rear view camera is displayed in the rear view mirror- which is much more natural of a place to look when backing up. Blind Spot Monitoring and the Rear Cross Traffic Alert are a must.
    Quirks: no CD player. no Moon/Sunroof. It would have been nice to have the option for auto open/close on the rear hatchback.

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      I've had my C-HR premium for about a month now and I love it. I've also gotten nothing but compliments about it. I can fit an entire drum kit in the back when the seats are folded down. Quirk: The sun visor doesn't extend to cover the entire side window and the interior handles on the top of the door impedes the visor a little bit.

    The #1 is a very valuable feature of this car. You don't even know. People pay BIG BUCKS to have something like that APPLIED to their cars by detailers and it's not cheap. I just had it done on my Hummer and it cost me almost $700. The worst part about paying that is that it's only gonna last 6 months! GREAT TO KNOW THIS MANNY!!!

    Enjoyed this top 10, I've just purchased the top spec Dynamic here in the UK and love it so far - it has so many great features and I love how it looks. I had a 3 door RAV4 for 10 years, loved it but the 3 door is no longer an option - had an Auris for 3 years but this feels more like going back to the RAV with that higher driving position and just more fun to drive! 🙂

      HI Houkt. Yes, the CHR does have ECO mode as well as "normal" and Sport modes. Front wheel drive will be a bit better and peppier than an AWD. C/H/Comb is rated 8.7/7.5/8.2 for the CHR and the HRV FWD is 8.3/6.8/7.7. We are looking at 0.4L/100 km difference in the city or about 60 cents per 100 km.

    It is the first time ever the "self healing paint" future of the new 2022 C-HR 1.2 T Luxury CVT is mentioned in a C-HR review! Last week I parked my brand new C-HR in the parking lot of a hospital. When I return to my car I made a horror discovery of a door that was slammed into the passenger side of my car! Fortunately, no dent, but a 20cm long scratch, NOT a hairline scratch, deep enough to see the metal underneath at some areas.... I was devastated, the first installment just went off my bank account, with only 400km on the clock.... I could kill at that moment, but there was no way to know who was the culprit, because the parking on the passenger side was empty.... I was so disappointed, I did not want to look at the scratch for days... and this morning I wanted to show it to my friend, and to my shock there was NO sign of the scratch! NOTHING, not even the slightest hint of a mark! Yes, the 2022 C-HR repaired itself! Apparently the self healing future of the paint is triggered by sun, and it will repair small scratches for about six to eight years, before loosing the ability. I just LOVE my wonder car!

    NUMBER 1a) NO MOON ROOF! What kind of beauty like this doesn't come w/ a moon roof?

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  7 років тому +4

      A beauty that just entered the market. I'm sure in the future we will see more features become available as sales grow. In Canada (for 2014) the 2 most popular selling Corolla models were the LE standard package (25%) and S standard package (19%). The S sales were up due to lack of LE standard availability and neither one has a moon roof, navigation, alloys or leather (S model has half leather). The Corolla LE standard package sold 6,844 more units than the LE upgrade package with moon roof during that year. The C-HR's current sales in Canada are not even close to the well established Corolla. Toyota looks at various market demands. The European market for example tend to buy smaller cars that are well equipped. So, the European models offer the moon roof, leather, awd and navigation. North America's market are stronger in the mid-size and up. This is why the Rav4 has 4 gas models and 3 hybrid models.

    • @mannydrives

      Great question. However, those coatings work well against bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental fall out (say living close to railway tracks). The paint is not designed for that. It's up to you if you want to add ceramic coating.

      On your MID use the arrow keys on your steering to toggle over to the icon that looks like a gear. In that page there should be "Meter Setting". Highlight Meter Settings and press the centre button (middle of arrows). From there you should see your options. Highlight what you want and press the centre button. When you are done just tap the return button (looks like a sideways u-turn arrow) to go back to your main page.

    I'm trying to find out more about the self healing paint. My dealership knows nothing about this. Is it standard on all C-HR 's, I'm in the 🇺🇸. I want to ceramic coat my car but will it be ok if the paint is self healing?

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      Toyota Dealerships are not too familiar with it and outside of sales training it's not really talked about. If you check the comments below I have linked to the breakdown of the self healing paint. Ask a Lexus dealership if they use ceramic coating for their vehicles and if so, what is the brand. Some of their models like the LS use this paint technology.

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      Great question. In the European market I do believe that a moonroof is available. Not sure if that extends to the UK. The original concepts had a panny roof in mind but the lead designer thought it was too heavy.

      They are on the 2018 XLE and XLE Premium. I believe they are also available on all 2019 CHR models built for North America(NA) from the Turkey plant before January 2019. After January 2019 they are brought from Japan for the NA market. I'm not sure if things like self healing clear coat will be included.

    The Toyota looks more sporty than the competition. It also drives better than all but the Mazda. When I compared the C-HR with the Honda HR-V, I found over 20 sq. ft. more cargo room in the Honda. I also couldn't find a Toyota C-HR with all-wheel-drive. I now own a 2021 Honda HR-V EX AWD and am very happy with my decision.

    Do I buy a chr, family of 4, im in the UK. No apple car play. Or Android auto. Which is disappointing.

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому +1

      Apple Carplay is not available in 2019 over there? If it's modeled off the 2018 we have here then don't worry. The radio is way easier to change than the 19. I would suggest researching Pioneer double DIN unit. Toyota has used Pioneer as stock radios in some of their vehicles.
      Over here we like our big vehicles and I would prefer a Rav4 over a CHR to accommodate a family 4. Also, the high door handle might make it an annoyance for your kids depending on their age.
