    The #1 is a very valuable feature of this car. You don't even know. People pay BIG BUCKS to have something like that APPLIED to their cars by detailers and it's not cheap. I just had it done on my Hummer and it cost me almost $700. The worst part about paying that is that it's only gonna last 6 months! GREAT TO KNOW THIS MANNY!!!

    The Toyota looks more sporty than the competition. It also drives better than all but the Mazda. When I compared the C-HR with the Honda HR-V, I found over 20 sq. ft. more cargo room in the Honda. I also couldn't find a Toyota C-HR with all-wheel-drive. I now own a 2021 Honda HR-V EX AWD and am very happy with my decision.

    It is the first time ever the "self healing paint" future of the new 2022 C-HR 1.2 T Luxury CVT is mentioned in a C-HR review! Last week I parked my brand new C-HR in the parking lot of a hospital. When I return to my car I made a horror discovery of a door that was slammed into the passenger side of my car! Fortunately, no dent, but a 20cm long scratch, NOT a hairline scratch, deep enough to see the metal underneath at some areas.... I was devastated, the first installment just went off my bank account, with only 400km on the clock.... I could kill at that moment, but there was no way to know who was the culprit, because the parking on the passenger side was empty.... I was so disappointed, I did not want to look at the scratch for days... and this morning I wanted to show it to my friend, and to my shock there was NO sign of the scratch! NOTHING, not even the slightest hint of a mark! Yes, the 2022 C-HR repaired itself! Apparently the self healing future of the paint is triggered by sun, and it will repair small scratches for about six to eight years, before loosing the ability. I just LOVE my wonder car!

    Enjoyed this top 10, I've just purchased the top spec Dynamic here in the UK and love it so far - it has so many great features and I love how it looks. I had a 3 door RAV4 for 10 years, loved it but the 3 door is no longer an option - had an Auris for 3 years but this feels more like going back to the RAV with that higher driving position and just more fun to drive! 🙂

    NUMBER 1a) NO MOON ROOF! What kind of beauty like this doesn't come w/ a moon roof?

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  7 років тому +4

      A beauty that just entered the market. I'm sure in the future we will see more features become available as sales grow. In Canada (for 2014) the 2 most popular selling Corolla models were the LE standard package (25%) and S standard package (19%). The S sales were up due to lack of LE standard availability and neither one has a moon roof, navigation, alloys or leather (S model has half leather). The Corolla LE standard package sold 6,844 more units than the LE upgrade package with moon roof during that year. The C-HR's current sales in Canada are not even close to the well established Corolla. Toyota looks at various market demands. The European market for example tend to buy smaller cars that are well equipped. So, the European models offer the moon roof, leather, awd and navigation. North America's market are stronger in the mid-size and up. This is why the Rav4 has 4 gas models and 3 hybrid models.

    Very nice car, but as (supposed to be) an SUV I'm very disappointed that this "sedan" did not come with AWD. If it did, it could have been better than Mazda's CX-3.

    My parents bought me a 2019 CH-R and I love it, mine is white with all black interior, I changed the plastic rims(I’m not a fan of plastic rims cuz they break) to black rims. I’ve had so much people tell me that they love my car. I didn’t know that the car had a self restoring paint, that was a shock.

    How’s the fuel consumption on this car? Love it but I’m having a second thought whether to get this or HRV. I do a lot of city drive and need a good fuel efficient car. Does CHR have eco mode?

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      HI Houkt. Yes, the CHR does have ECO mode as well as "normal" and Sport modes. Front wheel drive will be a bit better and peppier than an AWD. C/H/Comb is rated 8.7/7.5/8.2 for the CHR and the HRV FWD is 8.3/6.8/7.7. We are looking at 0.4L/100 km difference in the city or about 60 cents per 100 km.

    own a 2019 c-hr gle. it is the most utterly piece of crap. after 2 years of ownership and 40k miles it makes me wish i had bought a yugo!
    spacious: somewhat
    good mileage?? not in the least. my 1990 suzuki samurai gave 45/50 miles to the gallon.
    battery is out in less than 2 years, so were the tires which lasted about 38k miles.
    noises from low workmanship. it has them all. currently, in slow turns, the steering system cracks, rattles and moans constantly. and then there is the ever bubbling sound after it gets warmed up. what did the dealership service department say all and every time i took the car for inspection? they said that there was nothing wrong with the car. a yugo's the way to go.
    suspension. it bottoms up every time with the slighest depression on the road. the front absorbers (struts or rubber bands or whatever they use to deal with this) is so horrendous and the japanese mechanic at the dealership says there is nothing wrong with the suspension. a yugo is the way to go!
    i am telling you guys and gals, save yourselves the aggravation of a great looking piece of crap and buy yourselves a yugo!! the 80's and 90's yugo that is!

    the satnav asks for confirmation message and also the bluetooth tells you about mobile charges and there is no way to switch this off.
    so every day for the rest of your life with this car, you will need to click confirm twice before starting to drive.
    And if you dont, and want to look at the map, you will need to punch confirm while driving taking your attention away from the road for a few seconds.
    So annoying that my next car will not be a toyota until they have a switch somewhere that can disable this cos you I have read their disclaimers 700 times.

    I bought the C-HR with the premium trim about 2 weeks ago. I LOVE this car. The rear view camera is displayed in the rear view mirror- which is much more natural of a place to look when backing up. Blind Spot Monitoring and the Rear Cross Traffic Alert are a must.
    Quirks: no CD player. no Moon/Sunroof. It would have been nice to have the option for auto open/close on the rear hatchback.

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      So glad someone pointed out the mirror. I feel the exact same way. It's more natural and faster than looking down at the radio. The CD is the new tape deck. All my music is on a thumb drive now.

      I've had my C-HR premium for about a month now and I love it. I've also gotten nothing but compliments about it. I can fit an entire drum kit in the back when the seats are folded down. Quirk: The sun visor doesn't extend to cover the entire side window and the interior handles on the top of the door impedes the visor a little bit.

    Hi Manny. Great too 10 tips. Can you tell us if Toyota are going to add a sun roof or pan roof in the future?.

    • @mannydrives
      @mannydrives  6 років тому

      Great question. In the European market I do believe that a moonroof is available. Not sure if that extends to the UK. The original concepts had a panny roof in mind but the lead designer thought it was too heavy.
