In depth video. I run two fluval filters 207 and 307 on my tank I alternate maintenance between the two every six weeks and they are always dirty wouldn’t leave it a year !!! Maybe I am ocd but especially when u have well stocked tank
You need to clean everything in the tank water - running it under tap water is washing away all the beneficial bacteria your filter has built up. Not to mention that you are washing it with tap water that has chloramine and chlorine. Sure way of creating negative water parameters in your tank which will be detrimental to your fish!
First I use water from the tap to clean the inside of my cannister filters. I make sure the temperature is close, but never have had a crash. Rinse bio rings, and sponges and insides. So much easier to clean than a bucket. Also I use a good pre-filter sponge that I clean weekly.
Thank you for this. So many videos don't show certain things on the filter and it's good to see a real world use of the product and what to expect.
Good idea to put some silicone grease on the rubber sealing/O-ring.
Man! Clean in more often!

Do you use pre-filter sponges to trap food from going into your filter?
Great videos, but jeewiz!! Your filter is rank!! Why did you leave it so long before cleaning it?? I'm surprised your fish are still alive! 😲
I would bin that tooth brush after finishing; no brushing your teeth with that lol.
Maybe do it more often, every 2 months for that many fish. That is completely clogged and won't be doing your motor any good, or the fish to be honest
Actually, the fish should be perfectly happy, the moem won't hurt them, it's the filter to be concerned about.
I primed both 107 and 307. They aren’t working and they are clicking 😪
how noisy is your filter? i have a 407 but i can still hear a good humming noise :(
why do you leave it for so long to clean it you are luckey it was working
The mechanic parts is important to clean good , a dirty mechanic shortens the lifespan of the pump
i clean mine under running water , makes it less messy and quicker , i am done in 10 min

you should have cleaned and lube the motor head gasket.
How do you put it back?
Hi there! I have a 190L marine tank will this fit perfectly or should I get the 407?
Holy crap, that place you live in is in dire need of basic maintenance!
How many fish you have in aquarium???? And how many litter It is???
At the time, maybe 50 fish, but I've moved some to another tank since making this video, there's probably about 30 in there now. It is a 160L tank.

Never rinse bio media in tap what’s the point of bio media then test the water after a day you will see for your self
Way to kill all your bacteria. Use tank water
Never rinse in tap water. Kills the beneficial bacteria. Clean all media in the water from the filter
Ridiculous cleaning pre filter every week! totally unessesary
Man you haven't a clue, you left it six months. I can only imagine the state of your underpants 👀
I'm never had mine this nasty and I have been lazy with it but I have only got a 200l tank
😮
Omg, very dirty,,but i clean canister filter once a year😇
you will be fine if you are keeping only 2 guppies in there, lol
@@MrMavhen I'm really a friend, I keep 5 discus in an 80 gallon aquarium
I clean mine once a month
Wow, that’s bad !! I clean mine all over when I do a water change every three weeks.
You know, if the tank is balanced, you shouldn't need water changes, especially if you have a good filter and only feed two or three times a month 👍
Sorry, I meant to say two or three times a week!
Lazy!!
