Thank you for this. Was going nuts because I couldn't get my 307 to refill/prime and I couldn't figure out what was wrong - I had a wad of moss in the ball valve in the intake and hadn't realized it was a thing. I had been about to go nuts trying to figure out what I had done wrong. Great customer service :D
Thank you - saved me buying a new canister filter - didn't have quite enough water in my river stream tank. 2cm more water and all is good - thank you 4.45
I have 2x206 and 2x306 for 7 years and counting. Changed only two o-rings and one impeller. I say that’s pretty awesome. No need to buy any new canisters or different brand since these guys I have rock.
My Fluval 306 has been working well for nearly a decade and in that time consumed no parts at all. Had one minor water leak when the o-ring got displaced from the groove. One thing that may help people is that rocking the filter can help "burp" the last of any trapped air from it. Not often do I give products a vote of confidence, good to see the 7 series are a slight evolution. The design was very good from the start.
I have also had fluval 07 canisters running for years on both saltwater and freshwater tanks and I have also noticed that tipping the canister back an forth in all 4 directions burps a lot of air out of the canister, I do it with every canister every time I start them back up after maintenance
Great video! Set up Fluval 207 yesterday evening as per the manual and another instructional UA-cam video. The 207 is my first ever use of an external canister filter as I embark on my journey into freshwater tropical aquariums. Since setup yesterday evening I've noticed the canister is emitting a constant low pitched humming which is audible from other rooms, enough to be slightly annoying. I understand this external cannister filters are supposed to be virtually silent filters. I looked up possible causes online and thought may it had some air in there as there was a lot of new bubbles made and present throughout the glass walls and all over gravel, decor and internal equipment, from when initially setting up the aquarium putting in some gravel and decor and when pouring in water. I thought maybe a lot of air in the canister after that. I've tried tilting it many times at an angle which does bring out some bubbles from the output after a slight fizzing of bubbles heard. Also tried to manually pump with the self priming pump a bit. However, there is still the ongoing hum. I am sure all the medial and baskets were assembled correctly, etc. Any suggestions would be great please as was looking for an almost silent filter! Thanks.

@@mkeating8 It is just that loud. I would be surprised if that can be solved. The only option in my opinion is that you should put it in sound isolated box. But that cost quite a lot and it is better to just get rid of this filter.

A really good idea that I accidentally found out is to tap each piece of the intake and output and the flex hoses against something hard. I dropped the small spout by accident in the sink, and some really nasty, rotten smelling, hardened green gunk came out. So, I kept tapping each piece, and you wouldn't believe what came out! The hoses were the worst because of the lines that trap stuff. I could easily run hott water through each one. After a hit it against the sink, I started the hot water, and a huge blob of the gunk came shooting out. I wish I had a video because it was unbelievable!

Thanks a lot, I thought my filter broke. I have it for two years at least and it’s the first time I couldn’t prime. As soon as I put the nozzle out of the water it started working. Thanks for the info!
His comment about checking the return line at the bottom at the intake cage. No kidding !! I could not figure out why I had no return flow at all at the output hose. That cage is removable and mine was stopped up completely with plant and other detritus.
funny thing. the last thing covered in this the leaking o-ring issues and alignment. what happens when you get a powerhead that WILL NOT align and seal? i spend possibly 80% of my time on maintenance day trying to stop the fluval 407 from leaking due to the fact it will not push down as easily as you show in this vid, you put is down it looks like its all in place, turn on filter and bapmh leaking out of those little side bits. it's frustrating and annoying. you used to make your stuff user friendly, lately I am very sad to say it's been getting flimsy and user unfriendly. :(

I was a fan of Fluval filters for 30 years. I downsized to an apartment and now want to have an aquarium again. I bought the 306 on Amazon and it leaked badly and discovered a hairline crack beneath the O ring. Fluval was gracious enough to replace the motor unit. I got the new unit and today I hooked everything up and pouring water where the 306 insignia is located. Put some lubricant again to make sure that wasnt the problem. The plastic housing, on the outside this time, has a split on it. After losing all of my fish to the aquarium going dry and mopping water from a 50 gallon aquarium twice, I am not a happy camper with my Fluval filter. I will be making an attempt to resolve this tomorrow with Fluval so we will see what happens!
Every time my power goes out my filter drains the tank at the o ring. I replace it often but maybe the square shape is stretching it in a bad way. If I didn’t have all the leaking issues I’d love this filter
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this. We suspect the O ring is not installed correctly as 07 Series filters do not leak in the event of a power outage. Please contact our customer support team so they may assist you: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us
Thanks for this video! I was setting up my Fluval 307, and the lid was leaking when I started to prime it, and I couldn't figure out why. You showed me that I had put the O Ring on wrong, and stuffed it into the small channel too far. I adjusted it as you showed on the video, and the leak was gone - no more water flowing out of my filter!! It's up and running smoothly now. I really appreciate your showing that on video. I may never have figured it out!
Hi fluval I cleaned out my 207 recently all the pipework, impeller etc all cleaned... My outlet power has decreased a large amount even with the power adjuster on full power ... Any advice? I have only had the filter for around 2 months and I really love it so hoping its an easy fix... Thanks fluval! 👍

I have a 407 on my 30 gallon tank and I love it. Bit overkill for my tank but the 407 was on sale and not much more expensive than smaller filters. Canister filters are so much better than HOB.
Aquastop valve started leaking after 1 year of use on my 307 it's very flimsy definitely the acciles heel of this filter. A friend of mine had same problem with his 407. I changed back to an old ehiem classic 2215 not very stylish but what a filter.
Good video. After cleaning my 307 pump today I put it together. I should explain that I keep it in a plastic garbage can (a small one, like you'd keep under an office desk - the lid of the garbage can is only about 4 inches above the top of the pump). That way if it ever develops a small leak, it won't ruin the bamboo floor I put in last year.My next purchase will be a water sensor for the garbage can. After turning it on, I checked after a minute like I aways do and the garbage can was half full of water. If I hadn't had the can the floor would have been a huge mess. Long story short, after pulling the pump and fiddling with it for some time, I replace the head gasket with a new one (I bought the yearly recommend replacement parts when I bought the machine so I knew I'd have them on hand when it was time - COVID put a dent in a lot of manufacturing time). Putting the new gasket on did the trick. It's been running for 30 minutes without a drop leaking. Best pump I've ever had. Quit and efficient.
Obviously just going to assume you don't mind that I am sure you have no lubricant in your essential replacement package ( surprised and shocking that you bought just the one ) , you have no need for a bucket to be that guy and how is your new sensor working for you ????¿¿¿¿¿ Just a bit more when I think about your claim to be able to fail after 1 year of use screams for a few reasons why I feel so bad for Fluval customer service having to deal with this non-stop nonsense that they are morning noon & good God it's about time to go Home 🏡
I own the Fluval 107 for now about 10 month. Filtration, circulation, maintenance, cleaning, everything really high value. In the past the hum was not a problem, stand in the living-room. We change now in another room. So the noise is a problem. It is not a problem of the air, clean everything, using silicon lubrification. I look to all inside parts. The hum was a problem of this pump from the beginning. Any ideas? Thank you.
How should I go about troubleshooting air getting in, outside what's mentioned here? I have a new 407 but air is getting trapped, leading to a high pitched whine because the filter can't purge it. Tilting the filter will clear it and stop the sound but I'm doing it every 12 hours and it's not normal

My 407 canister leaks anytime I have a power outage. I’ve clean the O-ring cleaned all the surfaces and o-ring groove, lubricated it, even bought a new O-ring only to have it do the same thing. apparently they’re just junk. Shouldn’t have to worry about putting the canister in a 5 gallon bucket to keep it from leaking all over my floor when the power goes out. For this reason I put anti-siphon holes in the inlet hose close to the top of my water level so when power goes out, it doesn’t back siphon. The water level hits those holes and they suck air stopping the water siphon.
Full nightmare with my 207, from day 1 it's had a hum that's loud enough that it becomes hard to sleep around, there has always been a tiny gap where the 207 logo is from head to body. I have tried all the tricks in the book, checked my impeller, my seals, o ring, lubricant, hosing, strainer, changed my impeller to a new one, nothing has fixed it. [5/5/20 update] - Replaced the entire unit for another, and the problem persists, with the sound identified as originating from the canister head itself. If you're looking for a Canister filter, by design, this baby is Loud. [30/8/21 update] replaced hosing and connectors, impeller again, o-rings and even tried out adding extra lubrication to soften the sound. Still no good, avoid fluval for life.
I had some left over foam and placed it under the filter, it stopped the vibrating noise a little bit. But don’t turn the filter off at night. I used to do that but it blocks your hoses after a couple of weeks
Hello and thanks for the quick answer .just I won’t to make sure leet me ask again .I have the top cover of my pump the oring, is in place ,when I clump it down the to clumps under feel like playing around like loose in my opinion the clumps does not pushing the head maximum to seal pro-ply,maybe is normal maybe not that’s I won’t to know ,thanks
Have a small leak coming from the flow adjuster leaver (the circular grey ring to the right of it), it's fixed when I bring the leaver up halfway but small leak when down(full flow). How do I fix this issue?
Impeller life is dependant on substrate used. Fine sand when ingested will cause early wear. Make sure the pick up tube is not sitting too low near the sand.
@@kingofthewhites4505 it depends on your tank size (height) and 07 model. For example the listed flow rate would tell you to expect a concern for example if you used a 407 in a ten gallon tank. I’m converting over to a new 407 from a hang on back on a 60 gallon tank. But haven’t opened the box yet. I believe you can cut the pick up tube to have it at least 5 to 6 inches off the bottom. Sand is tuff on all filter impellers and seals.
Any ideas on how to adapt your ribbed tubing to in-line equipment? I currently run a 407 on my 40 breeder, but I had to use standard smooth vinyl tubing in order to plumb in my co2 reactor and in-line heater. Would be awesome to be able to use your ribbed tubing with aftermarket intaks and in-line equipment.
The issue is that you would need both ends with bonded rubber connectors, therefore using a complete replacement hose set for a Fluval canister is one option.
The ribbed hose from the UVC in line clarifier? If you have any extra laying around? Otherwise 5/8 ID 7/8 OD tubing , heat a pot of water and let it warm up and little goes a long way so don't walk around solving the problems of the world and you can use the new Big Box hoses with your CO2 ART inline diffuser 🛴
407 is the best👍🏼 I bought one for myself. It would be cool if 507 appeared instead of fx4, for example, or as an alternative to it. In my opinion, episode 7 is better than fx🤷🏻♂️ Have a nice day everyone.
Two months ago I purchased a Fluval 407 for my Fluval F90 aquarium, but flow has slowed down immensely and I haven't changed the setup in the slightest. The original 204 would even flow better. I have changed and cleaned all media, foam and bio (unwillingly because I'm still trying to cycle the new tank setup). I have no blockages and I have no kinks in hoses, extra long hoses or anything else for that matter. Please help, what could the problem be.
IMPORTANT UPDATE Even though I thought I had checked all hoses for blockages, especially the intake hose, as this is where I found the fatal error. I have the Fluval F90 aquarium which has the intake and outlet pipes both drilled directly through the bottom glass, it's a great way to keep things neat and tidy. Anyway I had a long cleaning brush down the inlet and outlet tubes a few times trying to figure this out, this morning I decided to shine a torch down both tubes and was amazed to see, right at the bottom of the inlet tube the shell of a long lost Nerite snail. Problem found and solved. These snails are nearly as large as the inlet hole itself so no wonder the flow had drastically reduced to a trickle. It must've slthered in there when I was doing maintenance on the inlet strainer. So, I learnt a valuable lesson, I hope I've helped someone else in the future with my own personal experience.
Just an update on your O-ring leaking take some Teflon tape and run it a couple of times around the powerhead before you lubricate and install your O-ring and that should tighten up the fit so it seals it
Thanks for the amazing vid. Is there a way of reducing the water flow on the 307 series? I have two 307 filters running with Lily pipes, so the current is quite strong. Tank is heavily planted so I feel the filters are needed to create good water flow. However Iam planning on buying some angelfish... if there a way of controlling the water flow at all?
Bought a new fluval 407 about a month ago. Unplugged it today and it started leaking. Took it all apart, lubricated the seal, put it back together, and as soon as I plug it back in it leaks again. Can’t get it to work. I’ve repeated the process a couple times with no luck

First, I’m so glad I found your UA-cam channel!!! The manual can only tell you so much. I’ve had my Fluval 307 for about 8 months. It has started making this gravely/static sound. This by the way started after our electricity was turned off for 24 hours because of a fire in our area. Does the impeller need replacing already?😬
It is possible air accumulated with the filter and the noise you hear is the impeller running dry, we suggest removing the filter for maintenance and when re-installing it, priming it the way we discuss in this video.
Hi, I bought this filter and I can’t find anywhere an answer to my question so I’m hoping someone can see this and answer me. I did not expect the outtake hose to have to be OUT of the water , so there’s a waterfall sound …and I was wondering if I could put it into the water ? (The hose) I really cannot stand the sound coming out of it , it gives me anxiety thinking it could be heard through the wall of the apartment… I woke up in the night to turn it off because it was too much , I’m thinking of returning the item but if it’s safe to put the hose into the water to stop the waterfall sound it would be just perfect 😮💨
The filter output can absolutely be positioned under the water! It only needs to be out of the water while priming - as soon as that's done, you can position the output below the water surface, where it will operate soundlessly. 👍
I bought the 207 today and returned after three hours struggling to get it to work. Well made however killed off my Saturday and watching fish get sick due to no filtration and frequent water changes. When primed water seaped out and flooded my floors. Made sure hose connected correctly I tried trouble shooting steps and water would not pump through. I'm not sure I had top on right. There should be big easy to read instructions but hard to see instructions. I did watch install video. Highly frustrating. I feel very deterred now and frustrated now with the hobby.

Bought a new fluval shaker aquarium set yesterday, which comes with a fluval 407 but mine 407 is so loud , I measure noise at 54db to 60db. And it has been running for 30 hours now, no air bubble inside. I took the impeller out and checked it out can’t tell if anything wrong since it is new. Is it normal for running 407 at 60db? Checked some review says 407 should be at 20db.

So my 407 filter was working fine until about a month ago. I have minimal length tubing. I have replaced all of the foam media as well as the impeller and shaft. The filter is primed and I have cleaned the ball valve at the end of the inlet tube. There is no water leaking from the canister. The only thing I have noticed is the priming rod seems a little stiff but is working. My filter isn’t moving any water at all. Any suggestions?

How do I disassemble the flow control valve, to clean and lubricate (the assumed) o-rings that are inside it? From time to time mine begins weeping tank water and although it's small, it does become a nuisance when it builds up hard water deposits on the outside of the valve and the top of the powerhead.
Hi there! It's not possible to dismantle the AquaStop valve. To help prevent leaks, we recommend lubricating the O-rings at the bottom of the valve with Fluval Silicone Lubricant: fluvalaquatics.com/us/shop/product/silicone-lubricant
I just started my filter 207 brand new and it’s been running for like 30 and every once in a while it’ll make a noise then stop the flow for a split second the spits water back out. Any tips??
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this. It sounds like the filter isn't primed properly: 1. Check that the hosing follows a straight path from the aquarium edge to the filter with no kinks, loops or bends. 2. Try pumping the priming handle a few times, or gently rocking the canister back and forth a little. 3. Read through the installation procedure in the instruction manual to ensure all steps have been followed correctly. 4. Hi, my 407 intake has lost suction, it’s all very clean and new hose added. Still seems to have a loss of suction and the hose in seems to be working as normal however there is an infrequent noise of water gushing as it it had just been primed. Please help
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this! Our customer support team will be happy to help you troubleshoot your filter and get it working correctly again: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us
Kristen, if you hear the impeller working yet the canister is not full what likely happened is an air lock after priming because the ouput nozzle was submersed allowing water into the canister via both the input and output sides, this can result in significant air being trapped in the filter. Always make sure to position the output nozzle above the water surface when priming and until the canister is full, then submerse it to just below the surface and plug in the filter. We would advise emptying any water from the canister and then priming again, this time with the output nozzle above the water surface.
Another question....to clean out the goses with a 207 filter that goes through the bottom of the tank, would you have to drain the tank or just try to change it very fast ?
Great question! The output hose can be emptied and cleaned by simply lowering the water level below the output nozzles. The intake hosing is a bit tricker - you can block off the intake with the red caps that came with the aquarium, or simply not clean it, as it's a very short length of hosing and won't accumulate much debris at all.
I have 107 and it stopped filetring. I'm trying to figure it out what went wrong. It was ok for 3 years. Now replacing impeller. Let see if that fixes it.
the in let and out let on top is sucking air,the one thing they dont talk about. cleaned the impeller and shaft, siliconed the o ring and siliconed around in and out top attachment,it still sucks air, ordered a new o ring and should get o rings for top attachment also??

My 306 leaks on both sides of the Lift-lock clamps through the small holes on either side of the Lift-lock clamps. I replaced the motor head O-ring and it still leaks. The leak is not constant but seem to start whenever the AquaStop valve is disturbed, so I just purchased a new AquaStop and when I removed the old valve and went to install the new one I noticed that water was leaking out the little holes on either side of the Lift-lock clamps. When in operation the pump has full suction. The only thing i can think at this point is the motor head O-ring is the is not the correct size. Please advise, thank you, Barry
What does the siphon ball do exactly? I originally took it out when setting it up and have it in a bag at the moment, should I take my part off and put it back in?
I've got the Fluval 107 external canister filter. Each time I do a water change, it will run for a while and then the water from the spray bar gradually slows and eventually stops. The 06 series did not have a history of leaking and neither does the 07 series, in the few cases we are aware of in the 06 series the O ring positioning was incorrect.
@@fluval yes they do. sorry but as someone who has used both and experienced both they love to leak out of the corners by the clips, the power heads love to just not fit after about 2 uses. to say it's frustrating and annoying is still an understatement. what should be a quick likely 1 hour job of filter and tank maintenance turns into 3 to 4 hours fighting the filters to stop them leaking.

We encourage you to contact our customer support team for assistance: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
Got the 207 but the version that goes wjth the fluval aquarium so the pipes go through the bottom of the tank. I cant prime with the output above water as it will not go that high, will i have problems priming ?
Hi there! 07 Series filters self-prime when installed using the through-tank connection system. Simply ensure the AquaStop valve is closed (grey lever moved to vertical position) before unplugging the filter. Once you're done cleaning it, reinstall it and open the AquaStop valve (grey lever to horizontal position) before plugging the filter back in. The water trapped in the hosing will create a vacuum that fully primes the filter! 👍
Hello, I have a question for my 407, it’s making a very low humming sound. Originally it was making a very loud noisy sound but after we left it to watch this video it suddenly stopped. I still can’t seem to get it to prime. Any thoughts?
Hi Emily, we're sorry to hear about this! Noise originating from the motor suggests that the impeller assembly needs to be replaced. As the only moving part in your filter that operates 24 hours/day, the impeller does eventually wear and is therefore not covered under warranty. Also, verify that the filter has been properly primed (always ensure the filter output is above the water surface when priming), as this will help ensure trapped air is not the cause of the noise. For more assistance, please contact our customer support team: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
I'm testing my used 206 on an empty tank to see if it's worth buying an intake stem and strainer for. I've opened the Aquastop valve, primed it and followed all instructions but nothing is happening.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this! Try cleaning out the impeller assembly, as any debris from manufacturing could be causing the noise. Also verify that the hoses are as short as possible, with no kinks or loops, as excess hosing can increase noise levels. If this doesn't help, our customer support team will be happy to further assist you: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
My motor assembly when sealed with the locking mechanisms does not close all the way. I can push it down to make the seal but then the clamps hang loosely. None of these will solve that issues. Advice please?
I have a 306 and have only had it setup for about 6 months now. I purchased in an emergency situation, used it for a little while and upon my first cleaning I had a really hard time getting the filter to prime and also it was leaking at the power head. I packed the filter up and put it in a closet and setup my sunsun filter and used that over the next few months. I returned to the fluval to give it another shot, I shortened the hoses to the tank and it immediately fixed the priming issue but the leaking at the power head is still a major issue. I literally have to put all my weight on the power head after latching the clamps and even then sometimes I have to take the unit apart and put it back together and again put all my weight on the filter and it will eventually stop.
Hi Joseph, we're sorry to hear about this. Something doesn't sound quite right - our customer support team will be happy to help you! fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
I just set up a brand new 207 and it's making a loud humming noise. I thought these were supposed to be quiet filters. It was for the first 24 hours and then it started making the humming noise. What could be causing it?
We'd recommend checking the impeller, which is the only moving part in the filter and thus likely the source of the noise. Make sure it's entirely clean and free of debris! You can bring the unit to your local aquatics retailer and have them look at it, they may be able to help you resolve the issue!
Yesterday I bought a fluval 207. I can hear the noise from the impeller and it is loud. It gets louder when I slow down the water current. What should I do now?
Noise originating from the motor suggests that the impeller assembly needs to be cleaned. Carefully disassemble and clean the impeller, the impeller shaft and the impeller well, as there may be some debris present from manufacturing. Also verify that the filter has been properly primed (always ensure the filter output is above the water surface when priming), as this will help ensure trapped air is not the cause of the noise. For more assistance please contact our customer support team: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
@@fluval but it is bright new. What to clean it from? Yesterday 207 was started for first time and it makes noise that a bright new canister filter shouldn't do. :) The store (in Bulgaria) says that it is normal for that filter to make noise. I don't think that it is normal.

Hi there! The smallest 07 Series filter - the 107 - could be used for a 30 L tank, but for small aquariums like yours a clip-on filter is usually preferred! I have a fluval 407 that I think is not working well, the cover for my top tray is bent in and I feel that I am not getting proper flow through my canister because of this bent cover.

Right now I am having trouble as my output part of the filter made a funny noise and now it’s not blowing bubbles into the tank at all everything seems to be plugged in and where it supposed to be can you please help
It is 49 cm from the surface the filter is sitting on to the top of the locking hose nut on the aqua stop inserted into the filter. If you are estimating fit on the inside of a cabinet add approximately 8 cm to accommodate for the rubber hose connectors and the hosing bend.
@fluval my 107, the output is outside the water, as I have turtles - the flow is super low. Seems like a tiny little stream. It’s brand new, what am I doing wrong
Hi Stefanie, normally when this occurs it is due to the water level in the aquarium being too low. We recommend reading the products instruction manual, specifically page #4, which outlines the maximum distance from the filter to the inlet and output nozzles. Should you have trouble after this, please contact our customer service team for further assistance.
We're happy to hear the video helped, Susan! 🙂
Thank you - saved me buying a new canister filter - didn't have quite enough water in my river stream tank. 2cm more water and all is good - thank you 4.45
We're so glad to hear the video was helpful! 😁
Thank you for your comment - we're happy to hear you've had a positive experience with our filters! 🙏
I have also had fluval 07 canisters running for years on both saltwater and freshwater tanks and I have also noticed that tipping the canister back an forth in all 4 directions burps a lot of air out of the canister, I do it with every canister every time I start them back up after maintenance
@@eltonmckinley4398 I think mine will be needing more maintenance, tank has had a population explosion.
Thanks! Silly me didn't realize there was a little ball in the intake. It was VERY clogged. Saved my day!
Glad it helped!
How to you clean it out? I can’t find the video mine has lots of leaves I’m struggling to get them all out 😢
You are the best teacher ever 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I love you!!! My problem was the too much hose. Shortened up and priming worked.
Thanks.

Did you get this sorted? I have the same exact issue with mine. Thanks.
Have the exact same problem. Anybody have a fix?

Thank you I just got a 307 and I'll keep this in mind when the time comes :)

The motor head installs very easily when the O ring is lubricated and positioned within the receiving groove clearly shown in this video.
I’ve had the same issue several times and I follow the instructions in the video
I'm having the same issues as you. Sadly, I'm giving up on fluval and looking into a new filter. I'm never going with any fluval products ever again.
Double check alignment and lubrication. I had this issue today, leaking out the sides. I lubricated the O ring and it’s sealed and working great
Im having this issue, but I cant get the fluval libricant where I live, what other product can be used?
My fluval 306 sucks in and shoot water out as it should but it's not filtering at all. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about that! Our customer support team will be happy to help you troubleshoot your filter. You can contact them here: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us
I was a fan of Fluval filters for 30 years.
Any updates?
We're so glad to hear the video was helpful, Deborah! We hope you enjoy your new filter! 😄
Hi fluval
I cleaned out my 207 recently all the pipework, impeller etc all cleaned... My outlet power has decreased a large amount even with the power adjuster on full power

我都是這樣?😮😮
I have a 407 on my 30 gallon tank and I love it.
Bit overkill for my tank but the 407 was on sale and not much more expensive than smaller filters.
Canister filters are so much better than HOB.
I wish I got 407 on my 30 gallon
I've only had my new filter running for 6 7 weeks and it looks like I'm going to have to change my impeller
Did you break it because it was hard to pump? I'm having a hard time priming
I own the Fluval 107 for now about 10 month. Filtration, circulation, maintenance, cleaning,
everything really high value.

Hi Joe, please ensure the O-ring is correctly seated in the appropriate groove. If you're still having issues, our customer support team will be happy to help you: fluvalaquatics.com/us/contact-us/
My 407 canister leaks anytime I have a power outage.
Mateus Santos fr never will i recommend a filter like this for anyone

Impeller life is dependant on substrate used. Fine sand when ingested will cause early wear. Make sure the pick up tube is not sitting too low near the sand.
how do I make sure of that? it seems the impeller tube is too long in my tank? Are all 07 Series tubes the same size?
@@kingofthewhites4505 it depends on your tank size (height) and 07 model. For example the listed flow rate would tell you to expect a concern for example if you used a 407 in a ten gallon tank. I’m converting over to a new 407 from a hang on back on a 60 gallon tank. But haven’t opened the box yet. I believe you can cut the pick up tube to have it at least 5 to 6 inches off the bottom. Sand is tuff on all filter impellers and seals.
As Joe mentioned, you can cut the intake stem with a small saw to make it the right length for your aquarium!
Thank you for o ring information. 🌹
Any time!
The issue is that you would need both ends with bonded rubber connectors, therefore using a complete replacement hose set for a Fluval canister is one option.
for me, the standard 16/22 hose worked very well
The ribbed hose from the UVC in line clarifier? If you have any extra laying around? Otherwise 5/8 ID 7/8 OD tubing , heat a pot of water and let it warm up and little goes a long way so don't walk around solving the problems of the world and you can use the new Big Box hoses with your CO2 ART inline diffuser 🛴
407 is the best👍🏼
I bought one for myself.
It would be cool if 507 appeared instead of fx4, for example, or as an alternative to it.
In my opinion, episode 7 is better than fx🤷🏻♂️
Have a nice day everyone.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
Even though I thought I had checked all hoses for blockages, especially the intake hose, as this is where I found the fatal error.
So, I learnt a valuable lesson, I hope I've helped someone else in the future with my own personal experience.
very useful about for the noise! :-)
Absolutely! You can safely reduce the flow by up to 50% by adjusting the grey lever on the Aquastop valve. 👍
Thanks so much.

@@fluval omg thank you so much!!!!!

It sounds like the filter isn't primed properly:

If the impeller isn’t working right would that cause no water going in/out?

My filter pushes my turtles when they swim by the output. How do I lower the pressure?
See above please.
As per the video you can arrange some structure in the path of the flow if you want to diffuse it.
@@fluval but there is not a direct way on the fluval to minimize water flow, correct?
Stick a sponge filter over the top of the outflow, I had a spare sponge that I used for the inflow that I just cut and put over and it pretty much stopped all outflow so now I have a very slight surface agitation
I have a 407 that I bought about 6 weeks ago and it was working great. Today we had a power outage and now I can't get it running again. Any help?

Hi i just purchased the 306 an i cant seem to get the in/out hoses that connects to the box to stay tightly under the red plastic screw dils. I pushed down hard then tighten but they leak after a few minutes. Would gluing them in place be a good idea? I would hate to wake up to a wet floor an empty tank. Lol. Thank you

@@fluval I have a similar problem with my 307. Had a 206 for years and it was a pretty sturdy setup, but now if I basically sneeze in the direction of the 307 filter it seems one of the hoses will pop off and I have a water geyser on my hands! I will plan on contacting support as well.
I have a new Fluval 207 120vac 60Hz for my 30 gallon tank and keeps spraying micro bubbles preventing my tank from being clear. How could I get rid of this? I installed just yesterday 8/7.

It is normal that you will see some air bursts after installing new filter media as it does hold quite a bit of air, this will resolve itself. Checking all hosing connections for secure installation is also recommended.
I have a 407 and overall I like it. My main issues is that I'm struggling to keep the outlet on the pipe, it just falls off into the tank. It just won't go on firmly enough! I don't feel like buying parts... any suggestions?

The siphon ball is a crucial component of the priming system - without it, you won't be able to prime your filter! We recommend putting it back in. 👍

The FX 6 has very large baskets.
I've got the Fluval 107 external canister filter. Each time I do a water change, it will run for a while and then the water from the spray bar gradually slows and eventually stops. Does the 07 Series leak like the previous models do in the four corners by the clips, also why is there small holes there
The 06 series did not have a history of leaking and neither does the 07 series, in the few cases we are aware of in the 06 series the O ring positioning was incorrect.
Yes, I have same experience with 407, warranty works "only if you have proof of purchase in authorised shops". I been sticked to Fluval product for long but now I will try Eheim they got better opinions and similar price.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this! Try cleaning out the impeller assembly, as any debris from manufacturing could be causing the noise. Will closing the aquastop valve but not turning it off damage the motor or impeller?
Reducing the output valve by up to 50% can be done without risk.

How tall is the 407 with the aquastop pipes installed. Amazon quote 49cms but is that the canister or with the aquastop inserted ? 🙂
It is 49 cm from the surface the filter is sitting on to the top of the locking hose nut on the aqua stop inserted into the filter. If you are estimating fit on the inside of a cabinet add approximately 8 cm to accommodate for the rubber hose connectors and the hosing bend.
@@fluval could I get some of those 8cms back by pointing the aquastop at 45 degrees towards the back of the cabinet
Its an approximate measure. The Aqua stop remains perpendicular to the filter, it is not a flexible assembly.
Out of curiosity would a 307 power head fit on a 407 canister?
Hi Benjamin, we don't recommend combining parts of different models of 07 canister filters.
@fluval my 107, the output is outside the water, as I have turtles - the flow is super low. Seems like a tiny little stream. It’s brand new, what am I doing wrong
