- Okay, so many have been asking to see my sketchbooks so hear we go! Might as well start off with my oldest sketchbooks first. These are from my teen years and I can see a lot of growth from the first one to the last.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can do things like this at young ages. I started learning how to draw earlier this year, haha. I would like to see more :).

Is it just me? I HATE coloring in my drawings. I only use pencil to color in my drawings and people don't like that I do that but idc!! Like if u do it too

i only like colored pencils for things i have to color like school work but i hate coloring my own drawings because they will be my favorites and then they just look like a mess

I want to be a professional artist. I am 15 and I started to take my drawings seriously 3 years ago. I go to a school where the art teacher doesn't really help or doesn't exactly challenge me the way I want to. I try to practice everyday by watching your art videos to be inspired because you really inspire me❤️ I gave up on the idea of trying to rely on someone else to help me get my style and what I want to do, but when I clicked on your "draw my life" it really opened my eyes because you were also struggling with teachers, but you eventually found one that really helped. I'm attempting to try self teaching to open my options:) I also struggle SO much in math because I can't focus because I always am caught doodling! Is that normal for aspiring artists? I really like your videos! Thanks❤️

Emii64 I doodle in math too! Math is not my forte, (I totally suck) and doodling actually helps me pay attention.

Emii64 if you want to be a professional artist, try different styles with different tools like charcoal, or color pencil. Try at least 5 or 6 different styles and see which style you feel comfortable doing, or which you like best.
The Match Girl is really beautiful. But, it brought tears to my eyes at certain parts.

This made me feel a lot better about my art. you normally see so many talented artists on UA-cam and instantly want to draw like them but seeing stuff like this reminds me that everyone starts somewhere.
That's great, thank you... I just took up drawing last week.. and have like 13 pages of drawings.. it is a new journey for me.. thank you for sharing yours.. :) .... I am teaching myself to draw because I have the best magical dreams... walking through a cave when a child unicorn runs past me and laughs.. kind of dreams.. that I want to capture... .... then yesterday 2 symbols upon the ground lay... a coiled snake... and a curved M.. I am going to add them to my sketch book, since you showed the value of saving them....

Five years later, which was last weekend I was looking through my sketches, at a dream in whoever I was talking to had a very interesting mermaid necklace that I had drawn upon awakening.. last weekend I got out my paints and painted the picture over the line, and it came out completely magical.. It looks like she is in a doorway that leads out into the universe.. your comment is so well timed.. Thank You!

I love seeing artists old sketshbooks, like the really old ones from early teen years. Im only 14 and sometimes get a bit disapointed when my art doesn't turn out the way I want. Aaaanyway, seeing that artists I admire werent always so good. Really makes me feel good of myself and gives Ideas of what to draw.
It is always nice to see the progression of an artist. Especially as a newbie...to see that you are not the only one with the struggles you are currently having. To see that someone else had the same struggles and overcame them. Thank you! These are AMAZING!!

Art ala Carte hi how would you suggest to learn how to draw anime / manga body's for beginners.
adeja roriguez I'd recommend screenshotting some poses, copy them, and add clothes and hair. This way, you're drawing, and learning anatomy at the same time! :D
I LOOOVVEEE seeing your sketchbooks!! I especially loved the drawing of the girl with braided hair pulling back the curtains.

It's cool to see the beginnings.. I have almost if not all of my old sketchbooks starting from my early 20s (I'm 68 now) and I go thru them occasionally. It's amazing how the results go up and down and all around, but usually a bit more up each revolution. I'm looking at your stuff and thinking I can surely see the sprouts of your beautiful work now. I definitely saw your up and down and all around too! What fun!!!

You are too hard on yourself. Even your very old stuff is better than my current stuff and I am 48 yrs. old today (Happy Birthday to me!). You obviously had a natural talent from the beginning and have continued to grow as an artist. You do beautiful work now, and you did beautiful work back then! Thanks so much for sharing, it was really fun to see what you liked to draw. I LOVED the fairies!

This was so much fun to watch! It's so refreshing to know every great artist was once an amateur, it is hard not to compare my own art to the greatness if others but that is what keeps me motivated to do better :)
Oh thank you so much for sharing! I now have hope as my current horses look similar to your earlier horses so if I keep at it - I will get better. I try to draw at least one thing every day, if not more. I will definitely be keeping my sketchbooks and when I feel as though I am being defeated by a particular subject I will go through and review my progress. Again, thank you, you are a great teacher - even if you are an entire ocean away! (I might draw that?)

This video is actually what made me put effort into keeping a traditional sketch book and not just my digital collection.
I filled up my first one last year even if it meant pasting in doodles i had on loose leaf paper and I am fairly close to filling another.
I actually love how your anime girls look very Ah! My Goddess like I think if you had married the two styles of that and Disney it would've been beautiful!
I have started drawing, and after a year I decided to get a sketchbook, but I haven't been keeping up with it. I love drawing animals! As a reference for a drawing of a kitten, I took pictures of my cat, and felt his shoulders as he walked, since that was going to be a main part. I didn't do the drawing, but I am planning to! I'm not really good at keeping up with these types of things, but I really enjoy drawing. Although I can't draw humans. That's a no-no, friends see my animal drawings and ask me to draw them, and I just reply with, "So, do you want an eggplant of an arm and the muscles of a cat?" I am picking up manga though, and it's really fun!

You sound exactly like me cx I feel as if I'm experienced at cats, wolves and animals in general but humans... euuughghghh!

I always doodled on everything! I ended up ripping the good sketches I liked (at the time) out of my sketchbook and threw them into a binder haha! I plan to pick up sketching again!
