    Hi, I'm Mira Byler, and I love creating art videos for your enjoyment. If you're looking for inspiration, ways to fill your sketchbook, sketch with me sessions, and more... you're in the right place! I will show you how to draw in fun and goofy ways. Sometimes I even test weird art supplies and roll with whatever happens! I hope you feel welcome here in my little art family! :)

    I watched this on my phone in bed and my cat came and watched it with me, he really loved all of the punky people and would take over my phone and scratch me if I tried to take it away, true story, he also loved the abstract stuff, so, compliments from Oliver the cat 🐱

    This was actually really hard for me to watch XD I've been drawing a lot since the 4th grade and grew up being told I was good. But looking at what I can do know (in the 9th grade) its no where near what you were doing. I can't draw realistic in the slightest, and my characters are out of proportion and weird, basically equal to my 7th grade drawings. Its really stressful when you watch everyone around you improve while your stuck in the gutter.
    I don't practice much because i'm bad and i'm bad because I don't practice. :/

      OMG it happened to me too! it's really annoying and when they say it's amazing, great, etc. I point out the mistakes and they say it's still amazing like ummm..... -.-

      +corgicute That happpend to me too.I was the best artist in my class until 6th grade when this new girl came along and was really good and made fun of my art which made me quit but I decided to start again later on and not show anyone because I didn't want the same thing to happen again :/

      StudioA. Productions you shouldn't have let that girl make a effect on your drawing be proud don't let anyone else's thoughts get in your way if you see her again one time tell her that it doesn't matter how good you are creativity is what counts after that start showing your drawings to people again

      +popcorn Warrior yeah I know that now but everyone told me that I was an amazing artist until she came and it made me freak out because she was beyond my level. I just started art again recently and I have improved since then. I just don't let many people see my art.

      There will probably always be someone better than you. You can look up at them for inspiration, but your goal is not to be better than them. Your goal is to be better than yourself, and improve your own skills. Eventually, you might even become the best

      ***** same thing with me. In my grade there are 5-6 other artists including me. We all have our own sketchbooks given by our art teacher. Ive noticed that even tho i was the first one to get the sketchbook out of everyone else, i have the least amount of drawing. But ive also noticed that every time i draw something new it is much better. I guess you can say that for me, i dont draw a new art work until ive fully understood what i want to change about my art work and how i can improve. Its been i would say 2 months since i last drawn on my sketch book until today when i decided to take my time and draw. I think that it is totally okay for you to do that and don't worry about not feeling motivated at times. It doesnt matter how often you draw, all that matters is that you are passionate about what you do and you enjoy it

    I always find these videos both uplifting and worrying. It's nice to know that even the best artists started somewhere, but also knowing that if I wasn't as good as you in eighth grade, where I am now, do I even have a chance of being as good as you when I get older? I don't know. I'm just going to keep practicing and see where I end up.

    • @MiraByler
      @MiraByler  8 років тому +5

      You do have a chance! Aww. I'm so sorry this worried you. My intent was to be encouraging, but I can understand why you would feel that way. Everyone starts in different places, but from there we all branch out with our own styles. No style is better than the other, in my opinion. Don't measure your abilities based on someone else. Your talent and skills never end. You always have potential. It's up to you to pursue it and practice. :) and from the sounds of it, you are an amazing artist because you already have to desire to keep working at it. That makes me so proud of you. It really does. Sending love your way! ^_^

    I don't find going through old art work to be embarrassing. It's actually a reminder of how far I have come with nurturing my talent with art. Some of the people who I post videos showing off their art work never do what you did here. By showing your old stuff it can be an inspiration to people just getting into art and can boost their confidence that they may get better by keep practicing. When I first started drawing and painting my work was "okay". Then I stopped drawing for years. Got back into art about 6 years ago after an old roommate, who was an amazing artist, inspired me to get back into my creative zone. I got back into it and I was still just "okay" but I kept at it and went from "okay" to decent to good to great to awesome and now I am working my way to breath taking.
    Also, to any other new artists out there. Never feel discouraged if someone does not like your art based on it's style/theme/genre. I draw weird stuff, stuff of science fiction and fantasy and horror as well as realistic stuff, but I had someone judge my work as not being "as good as it could be" because it was not their style. This person only did paintings and drawings or stuff like animals or boats or civil war concepts, he was good, but if I were to judge him it would be for the lack of imagination and diversity, but I did not judge because everyone has their own style.

    Not gonna lie, begining sketches were kind of rough. BUT- you're art got so much better! It is absolutely beautiful now. I loved seeing how you grew in art. I hope people don't just give up on art because, let's face it, we all suck when we first start out. But practice, practice, practice and you're art will be breath taking! So don't make fun of people who aren't good. They're just begining their journey :3

    • @MiraByler
      @MiraByler  9 років тому +5

      Sarah L Exactly! I love watching progress. I think it's okay to joke about your own art, as long as you acknowledge that practicing makes things better, and not to be too seriously harsh to the point in which it becomes a hindrance. But there is no bad artist out there. :) Thank you for stopping by my channel and watching!

    a lot of people tell me I'm like really good at drawing
    well
    I'm not
    I like drawing when I'm bored
    it's something I do on the fly
    but I never took a art class or anything like that
    and you can definitely see that in the stuff I create
    right now a have A6 book that I carry around
    and every time I draw in it I upload on deviantart.com
    a few people like what I do
    but I just like the feeling of having my stuff out there instead of in a drawer catching dust
