Some tips for Gná:
-Avoid using runic attacks that lock you in an animation. After 3 runic attacks, she’ll apply runic armour & can’t be staggered.
-When she flings feathers at you, block the purple ones & dodge the pink ones.
-If she moves right, Gná’s about to do a wing stab (dodge). If she moves left, she’s about to slash with her wings (block).
-Always let her make the first move (unless it’s the attack you’ve gotta interrupt).
-Use Valour rage for extra health.
- “Rise! Rise!” = sonic arrows. “Bathe in fire!” = runic arrows
-Maybe snoop about the realms for some more enchantments. I think there’s one in Vanaheim called emblem of evasion, that makes dodges even better. Plus the set bonuses are really good, like having three Asgard enchantments to make triangle attacks stronger.

These are all brilliant tips, Kali! Gna is probably one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought in a game (at any difficulty level)

Kratos' line about having fought in "many such competitions" probably was, but Mimir's follow up line asking about fighting all those different archetypes was a reference to Playstation All Star Battle Royale, the Playstation Smash Bros game.

I know I'm not the first to mention, but Raeb's is the composer of the game soundtrack, Bear McCreary.
He won a BAFTA award and was nominated for a Grammy for his work in Ragnarok
1:44:01 The story of Jari and Somr is a beautiful AND sad one when you learn where it came from.
It's actually a tribute to two of the game's devs, Jake Snipes and Sam Handrick. These two met during the development of GoW: Ragnarok and quickly fell in love. They planned to travel the U.S. together, and started adventuring around LA and California. They spoke alot about leaving their mark in the game they were creating and Jake (Jari) suggested the heart with both their initials in runes. Sadly, in 2020, maybe a year or so after they first met, Jake passed away due to epilepsy. Sam was heartbroken, and when he eventually returned to work he asked if they could add a memorial to Jake in the game. Eric Williams (the game director) and the team put together this quest-line about two men who find each other in a cruel world and find in each other home.
This is a quote from Sam Handrick himself: "I wanted this story to be one many queer people know: journeying through a world that doesn't always understand you to find a place that truly feels like home. And sometimes that place is simply a person. And something as simple as a recipe can be a link back to that home."

To defeat the Valkyrie, you have to become very strong, pass the tests in the land of fire, and get a set.

Freyr's death was not unnecessary. He was holding back the explosion. If he hadn't been holding it back everyone might have died. Including Kratos and Atreus and Freya.
He was also killed in the lore by surtr so they payed respects to that
The contest Mimir is talking about in 18:38 is about Kratos being in Mortal Kombat 9 as a playable character lol
The last parts of the game, I spent every second I could collecting all the last bits I needed. I didn’t want to let go to be honest. For at the time. I had no idea when we’d see Kratos again. I thought probably at the launch of the ps6 which would probably be by 2028 lol. Low and behold they’d drop a dlc the next year.
With rumors of a remake of the trilogy. Although not acknowledged by Sony Santa Monica Studio.
And oh my god you beat those berserkers in your second try. I died to them so many times lol.
Also from what we understand the poses Tyr does are some what of a hint at the next games location. And I said some what because nothings been confirmed.
That moment between Kratos and Mimir about Atreus is wonderful and precious lol. I’m glad it was in the game.
I still haven’t beaten Gna to this day lol. Maybe I’ll go back one day.
And I’m glad you said. Kratos now willfully does the side quests that he used to grunt at lol.
One of my favorite things about the postgame dialogue is that now with the weight of prophecy, fate, Ragnarok, and Odin (and countless other troubles) off of Kratos' shoulders, we finally get to see a lighter and more humorous side of him. I think we got more chuckles from him here than in the entire franchise up to now 🤣
Well done on the double Berserker fight! That's probably a top 4 or 5 toughest fight in the game, and you nearly got them first try. And then absolutely bodied them in the second attempt. There's no shame at all in walking away from the Gna fight. She's.... ridiculous LOL. And definitely one where attempting her on your own time, off-camera with no pressure will help you a lot with just patiently learning her move set, and getting more upgrades in before. It's been really fun to watch your combat progression through this entire series, starting off with you figuring out the basic mechanics of the very original OG game, to now having a very good mastery of this game! And I hope your foray into the Valhalla DLC went well today! Looking forward to seeing that tomorrow
You'll have to let me know how you get on with 100%'ing this and 2018, if you come back to them in the future! I'm a hardcore completionist when it comes to games, and these two games were some of my favorites to 100% 😁

And about Freyr, he was stopping Raknarok, if he and Ingrid weren't there, Kratos and the others wouldn't have had enough time to escape asgard destruction. In the Myths his fate was to fight Surtr in raknarok.
By the way amazing to see those second quest, because mades me feel you enjoyed the game at its best, keep going Kali and if you defeat Gná I hope you record it

Just a heads up about the DLC - it may be a little... immersion breaking for some... but the DLC takes place in a world where Kratos has beaten everything (that includes Gna and the berserkers). Looking forward to seeing you check it out :)

I can't stop thinking how a conversation about wooing would go with Kratos. How does Kratos woo? Probably by finding the biggest monster he can and bringing back it's skin as a garment for said lady. :D Or maybe he just grunts and doesn't say alot and ladies dig that? Ha ha! Honestly the guy probably just shows up and all the ladies take one look and swoon. Lol!

The poem you found in the fake tyr cave is a reference to Bloodborne which has eldritch horror and indeed very messed up undead abominations. Like the rest of the Souls games it's super messed up especially when you have extra context for what's really happening

I know Red Dead Redemption is on the horizon, but before I forget, I'd like to suggest trying Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy at some point. It didn't really get it's due thanks to that Avengers game, but it's unrelated and a real hidden gem. Cool story, loveable characters and neat worlds to explore. If you liked Mass Effect, it's actually pretty similar with squad combat and your crew. Just super funny with a rocking 80s soundtrack. It's not too long, either, so it'd make a good palette cleanse between heavier games.
Don't feel too bad. She's tough as hell. I thought I was prepared, having defeated all of the berserkers and some good armor and stats... Morgan Freeman's voice: He was in fact, not prepared. 😆

I think to upgrade your weapons you'll have to defeat certain berserkers and I think if you do one Muspelheim trial you'll get enough to upgrade your armor
With this, I think it's time for me to 100% the game.

So idk if you know this but at the beginning of the game, when you first enter Svartálfheim with Atrus there's a dwarf on top of the bridge that's spits in the water right before you enter the village... that dwarf is odin and that dwarf odin used to transform himself to. You find in the prison where you help free the real Tyr. You opened the cell where he was laying but you were too focused on finding a way up lol

As you are playing on medium difficult, there is one accessibility option. You can go to Accessibility settings and turn on Mini-boss checkpoints. Then if you die after taking half life of Gna or Berserkers, when you fight them again, their health will be half making it an easier fight. Not available for No mercy and GoW difficulty, but available for Balanced mode.

Hey Kali! Although, you’ve still got Valhalla left to finish, Well done on completing the main story 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Although personally, GOW2018 is my fave all of GOW games especially for me, it’s the most replayable as I prefer how cohesive everything was but emotionally, like you at 2:14:07, Broks death especially after the Blessing of the Draupnir made me sob so much and know it hit you hard then and at his funeral, RIP Brok Huldra 🫡. The only other game that’s made me even more emotional while playing it more than once and watching others play it, is Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s sad that imo, 2 will end up winning the poll due to its sheer popularity and the fact many many people who vote 2 haven’t even played 1 yet but nonetheless, will enjoy your approach to the games as again, love your attention to detail and getting into the lore and each character story. So I'm not sure if anyone's told you this, but there's actually a reason why the turtle is named Chaurli. Before GoW 2018 came out, when Atreus's name hadn't been revealed yet, Gamespot inexplicably reported that the kid's name was "Charlie." Cory Barlog, director on 2018, thought it was so funny that he had to work the name Charlie into the game somewhere.
