Sponsored message: Check out the awesome TCL product range here: bit.ly/3Rj5nJe Also just want to be clear that my issues in this video were with the Intel model. I haven't tested the AMD Ryzen one this year, but the one I bought last year is still working well.
I know this video and this pinned comment isn't about it but can you please reveal when the legion 7i Gen 7 review will come out? You have announced that you had it for close to two weeks now and I have been anticipating it since then
My only gripe about this review is the comments about the numpad. This seems to be the only dedicated gpu laptop Dell has left with a number pad. It's a shame that both you and Dell don't understand that people might want one laptop for both business and pleasure. I still use my old g5 15 laptop with a 1060maxq and the 4k OLED because Dell doesn't make anything that can fill both roles. It's also a shame that the most recent version of the g15 doesn't even have a 1440p version anymore.
I want a numpad on my laptop, not because I will ever use it “I won’t” but because laptops with numpad keyboards have the WASD keys and the rest of the keys pushed over to the left, so that when I have the screen centered to my face the wasd keys are in a natural spot rather than me needing to put my hand and wrist over to the right uncomfortably to play or have the screen off centered with my face.
@@mihailcirlig8187 Yea it's a matter of personal opinion, some people like number pads and others don't. I guess it would be a hassle to design 2 different kinds of keyboards on a budget model laptop.
@@techguy6241 the f? Gaming laptop doesn’t means its only for games. People use it as daily workflow. And it didn’t take any space because the surface is fixed, and did you think as if they gonna adding speaker for those space? Wrong, look at alienware as example, or nuc x15.
My friend ordered a higher-end model from Australia through his brother to be sent to Iran. The first week of usage was fine until the Alienware software started acting weird. Long story short, many of the sensors in the mainboard and also the GPU were faulty and my friend had to RMA it back to Australia. You cannot fathom how hard it is for someone in Iran, with minimal access to proper international postage when it comes to electronics and foreign customer support due to sanctions and whatnot and also the unbelievable costs, to return a product to the company. The only good thing in this ordeal was the Dell support who guided him throughout the procedure and decided to replace his laptop for him.
there are companies in iran that do that for you with one year warranty also this laptop is a scam i got a l5p(3060 12700 16ddr5) from china for 1923 aud(with todays rates) and i was able to find a 2060 8ram 10th gen for a 820aud
I understand how annoying that could be because I live in istanbul and I had to buy my legion5pro from iran and ship it to istanbul cause it was cheaper.
@@maniero769 why is that impressive tho? you can get latest tech in iran almost as soon as any other country, the only problem is the lack of company warranty or original tech support for your machine and you have to pay extra for 3rd party companies for that because of sanctions!.

I have the g15 5521 and have not experienced any of the issues you mentioned in the beginning. They must have fixed the issue with a software update. However, your findings about the G Mode are still valid on this machine.
Same here, I bought 5520 and faced Blue Screen issue, Dell customer care people were very helpful they did something in bios and found problem with software and not with hardware. They fixed it from internal setting and working now flawlessly! Jarrod must update his review, because after 10 month it sounds like a biased review.
Beautiful thing about jarrod's reviews that no other channels shows is the LCD part numbers of these laptop, and he shows it with proper reviews of color gamut coverage, etc. Thank you so much Jarrod!
5:00 I manage the hardware and OS for our organization and learned long ago that generally you should use 1st party (Intel AMD) drivers before trying 2nd party/OEM drivers(Dell Lenovo) and only user 2nd party drivers if 1st party drivers dont work. I cant tell you how many times i've imaged up a newly added model, and forgot to bake the 1st party driver into the imaging media, and something doesnt work right. Example: We have some Thinkpad L380 Yogas, and with the Lenovo drivers for the WiFi they kept getting blacklisted by the AP and DHCP controller. Turns out Lenovo had added a "feature" that scanned every machine's MAC/IP/Host every few minutes supposedly to make it faster to access machines on the local network, despite all of this information being available at any time in mere milliseconds. The problem was fixed by installing Intel drivers and blocking the install of Lenovo drivers.
I bought a G15 last week and it BitLocked me out three times. I returned it and found an open box Omen 30L for $1,300 and bought a used Lenovo Legion 5(1650 Ti) for $470 for travel purposes.
Hi Jarrod. I just wanted to start off by saying that I absolutely Love your videos. In fact, it was one of your videos that helped me decide to buy my new gaming laptop. That being said I'm glad you posted this video because I had a very similar problem with my new Dell G15 5511 that I purchased 2 months ago during Dell's Black Friday in July event here in Canada. At first everything was fine, then after a couple of weeks I started having nightmares with Alienware Command Centre etc. and all of a sudden started getting all sorts of weird error messages. I googled the problem and found a solution that worked for a few others. I tried this myself and now everything works perfectly. This may not work for others, but it definitely worked for me and I thought I would share. What I did was go into Windows Settings>Device Security>Core Isolation and then turn off the memory integrity. (Apparently this is something to do with Windows Defender Security, which restricts certain settings on your computer) Doing this solved my problem and now my new G15 laptop runs like butter. Again, I'm not sure if this helps, but it did for me and a few others I've spoken too. All the best Jarrod. Love your channel. :) P.S. Alienware Command Centre was taking forever to load before I did this, but now it loads instantly when I power up my laptop.
Weird, my brother recently bought this laptop and it is running completely fine. We played many games on it and it never crashed. The mode switching also works fine. He even installed linux as double boot with grub and still there was no issue. He every night puts the laptop for training models and it haven't crashed once. Edit : the model is exactly same. And he paid about $1600 for this in sale.
I bought this exact model and spec in April this year (just under $3K AUD inc. an extended 4-year warranty) and it has run flawlessly! TBH - I have exclusively used only Dell Laptops for work and home now for 15x years!
@@slaughtermelon98 I got a ryzen 7 woth a rtx 3060 for 600 pounds off ebay. It was brand new. I got the deal of the lifetime as it was freshly boxed, qnd it runs perfectly
I've had a nightmarish experience with my Alienware 17 X2. I finally ended up getting a post-30-day return because Dell couldn't fix it after like 3 repairs and 4 support calls.
I canceled one yesterday. The part that dell has removed completely connector for 2nd ssd in 2022 model is insane. I think the reason they do that because after customers return or cancel item. They will suggest them to buy Alienware which supports 2nd ssd. It only cost more than 100$ in US and 350$ in Japan
I had a 2020 G15SE 5505. It was my first foray into PC gaming, and I had no idea what I was doing. It was a bit of a double-edged sword, because while it was really not good, it did force me to actually learn how to optimize a PC using 3rd party programs. I had to basically jailbreak it just to gain control over the fan speed. Also had to repaste it because CPU Temps would regularly get above 100C during normal gaming. I now have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus S17 with the i9-11900H and 3070. It was mind-blowing to me how much easier it was to manage performance on an actual premium laptop vs. the Dell.
I bought a Dell G15 5525 with a Ryzen 7 6800H and 3070Ti just over a month ago. Had none of the problems you had but yes the lighting and Dell's software can be a lot better. Other than that its been great, I got it on sale for $1600.
Yeah I suspect the AMD Ryzen one doesn't have these problems given it seemed to be around intel iGPU drivers, along with the fact that last year my AMD one was good too.
@@JarrodsTech I have 2 weeks with the Ryzen 5 5600h Rtx 3050 version and I don't have any bluescreen. I don't use the alienware software, and for some reason it consumed me a lot in the background, like 5gb of ram, which made my performance much worse and I had to uninstall it, but after that I had no problem
I bought it with the 3070ti and intel 12700h. I had to install some new BIOS updates and drivers to get Alienware command centre to work. But I picked it up on sale $2300AUD so that is insane pricing for a 3070ti and 12th gen CPU. Wouldn’t pay $3300 RRP as it is dated today
@@ftajmieh Does G mode work without the Alienware software? I have the same model and it's been working fine except for the awcc which says it doesn't support my model. Weird.
I use nearly the same model as you, im glad to hear other people have the same problems as me.i fixed the gshift problem with just putting it back in balanced mode manually
It looks like a perfect alternative workstation given thinkpads and xps prices, in addition to a good gaming pc. That's why I think they left the numpad
I've had my G15 for a little over 2 months now and my experience with it has been ehh at the beginning but okay now. When I first ordered my G15 on the 2nd day of using it, I got a blue screen and my USB ports stop working even my type C port. I told customer support what was going on and they took care of it quickly, they fixed the issue and sent it back in less than a week. Been almost 2 months since that happen and I've had no issues, just acting like a normal computer only thing I wish was different was better battery life, but for a gaming laptop, I wasn't buying it for good battery life. So for my first gaming laptop and picked up the 3050 ti with i5 11 gen, for about 650 CA plus tax when it was on sale, it's been an alright purchase so fair.
hi , so i guess it has been over an year now , i want to know what do u think about the laptop now and what issues have u faced and if it really have heat problems like it get very hot or something please
@@ahmedheni4379 Hey, since the first issue, I experienced when I first got the laptop in my original comment. The computer has been great, with no heating issues fans can be loud sometimes on intensive games but It's normal for gaming laptops, but other than that I've had no issues whatsoever.
I bought the Dell G15 3050ti/R75800h model after your review, and I'm impressed at how different our experiences are. I've had no blue screens whatsoever, only one night where rendering an After Effects video made the screen go black and unresponsive and keyboard backlight stayed on all night, with the power button not responding either. After that, I've experience no problems with it.
I have an older model and it blue screens very often. What's worse is that when it happens, it sometimes messes up both the AMD and Nvidia drivers amd I have to install them again. It is honestly sad considering it has decent performance given the price. (Ryzen 5 5600h and RTX 3050)
Bought this laptop with ryzen 7 and rtx 3060 on May 2022, was completely awful, games crashed again and again. Contacted the support team several times they keep repeating uninstall and reinstall the software (which doesn’t fix anything, so yea waste a lot of time), in the end i just refund the laptop and get a legion 5 r7 5800h rtx 3060. An advise, If you’re looking for a gaming laptop, don’t ever get a Dell or alienware laptop.
i do have same issue with old dell 7567, when first came the wifi driver always make BSOD every now and then, problem gone after installing driver from Intel. The problem is after installing update from Intel, dell think my wifi driver is not updated, but when update from dell (actually downgrade version) BSOD will back in action. my newer scar 15 (2021 amd cpu) also have issue with wifi (intel). While there is no BSOD, but sometime it can't connect, and driver need to be reinstalled. my 2021 legion 5 (mediatek wifi) never have any issue, while it maybe slower, but driver is stable in windows 10.
I bought the G15 5511 special edition several months back just for work. Has an intel 12700H rtx 3060, 360Hz lcd. I installed 2 evo 970 m.2 drives. I can honestly say i haven't had one bad thing go wrong with it. Zero blue screens. Also Alienware command center works flawless. I did wipe it and install a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro. I also own an Alienware M15R5 Ryzen Edition 5800H with RTX 3060. Still zero problems with it. Been an excellent laptop.
I've been running my Dell G15 5511 Intel version all of 2022 and have had zero issues, I did however upgrade the laptop myself with a 2 tb Samsung SSD and 32gb of memory. The laptop has been a dream even before I did the upgrades but the storage is mandatory and I can understand why that would be a deal breaker for some but as for me I like working on my computers so it wasn't a big deal other than the extra cash to upgrade (I did get mine for under $600 direct from HP with the Intel i5 and Nvidia 3050 Ti). This sounds like a serious case of really, really bad luck, just my humble opinion.
Hy 1week ago I bought same laptop And today I got delivery In my laptop there are file of years ago from 2018 to till now What should I do Is my laptop used and very old???
I have one of these and it was good when it was new, but became bad overtime. I've been getting alot of blue screens recently, and I've got a problem with my storage for no reason. It just keeps lowering every day, when I haven't even installed or download anything.
Agreed. In my Dell g5. G button has always been broken. It overheats the system and doesn't provide and significant gain. Also Alienware command center is just ugly.
I'm having a hard time believing how expensive the mid generation refreshed laptops have become. rtx 3070 ti for around 2200$-2500$ is ridiculous.a full powered rtx 3070 legion 5 and 5 pro was 1400$-1700$ ffs and those were the best the laptop world had to offer in 2021. How tf they gonna price the rtx 40 series laptops after the CES in january? The Winter is coming....and boi it's gonna send chills & shivers down ur spine when u see the prices of the next gen gaming laptops......
I was able to buy acer nitro ryzen 5 5600h paired with rtx 3060 16gb ddr4 256gb ssd +1tb hdd at just 800 usd with 3 year extended warranty. I am extremely satisfied 😂
well to be fair the rtx 3060 and the Ryzen 5 were more of a midrange config and that 256 gb SSD is also a budget option but yeah u also bought it cheap for what it offers, what the screen refresh rate?

My biggest problem with the model 2 year old model) was overheating. It continuously ran hot, defeating the purpose of gaming at even medium resolution. The cure was to disable the processor turbo boost in the bios. Works great after that.
I bought dell g15 few months back. Honestly it's quite good. I'm able to run cyberpunk, red dead 2 and watch dogs legion on high settings at 60 fps. Only thing I upgraded was the RAM. 8/10 laptop. No issues so far
I was torn between this, the Scar 15 and the Legion 5i Pro as my much needed update. The 5i Pro has just had a price drop to £1699 - the Scar is sitting at £2300 but is an i9... there is a Ryzen Scar 15 at £1630 but that's only got a FHD screen. Looks like the 5i Pro may be the best choice... there are too many issues for the G15 to be in the running...
I bought the 2021 model of this laptop around 6 months ago (Ryzen 7 5800H processor, and RTX 3060 config). So far the only issue I ever had with it was the Alienware Command Center, that software was always very finicky to work as intended (clearly it's a bad port that was initially meant to work only with Alienware laptops). But other than that, it works flawlessly. I believe the issue on this one does come from the Intel CPUs, I'm pretty sure it won't have the same issue on the newer Ryzen 7 (6800H).
Yea I have the 2022 version and yes the software for alien ware is dumb 😂 but it works most of the time. I also feel like they made it unreasonably hard to access the cooling system because I needed thermal paste on the cooling system since it reaches high Temps for no reason
The arrow keys are the most frustrating thing on this laptop in my opinion. The page up and page down keys right above the left and right arrows makes using the arrow keys sooooo annoying.
Hmm... their cheapest version is $599 right now, with the i5, 256GB SSD, 8GB DDR5, and RTX3050. It's not really powerful, but the price is attractice. I would need to add more RAM though, and swap the SSD. I'm tempted. I don't mind messing with the software to get rid of the bugs.
People are reporting little to no bugs with the updated models. I just pulled the trigger at that price. Couldn't pass it up. Already bought the additional ram and external ssd. It's the travel computer for the wife and I. The price was so much better, the only thing that got close was $850!
As an owner of the i7 12700H / 3070Ti variant here: 1. Update the vBios from dells website to enable an up to 150W TGP 2. My battery life sucks for some reason (2.5 hours max after tweaking) so what you’re seeing is weird 3. Make sure to never let the GPU hit 87c (by tweaking the fan curves and clock speed / voltage curve in MSI Afterburner) otherwise you’ll experience rather severe GPU throttling for 3-4 minutes or so before power limits return to normal
you can try adjusting the maximum state of the cpu to 50% when using battery (power options in windows control panel) and you will have 1 hour more of efficency approx (despite less performance in heavy task but if is chrome/word/writing you won't note the difference)
These comments are very useful. I have managed to get by with a tablet and gaming consoles for the last 5 years and finally wanted to get back into some pc games but its like i forgot everything i know about computers and have been surviving off helpful youtube vids and comments like yours!
@@Dani-kq6qq I actually really like it. I see why people say it’s terrible, there are a shit ton of software issues (Out of the box you will have to fix them yourself through updates and settings). After that however, it’s pretty awesome. Good battery life as well (probably will decrease the more I use it though).
I bought the newest G15 5521 SE model with the 2k 240hz screen, RTX3060 140W tdp, 1tb m.2 disk + 16gb ram. The first day of receiving the unit immediately after hitting the power on button the screen was black, despite the sounds in the background, rgb lights on the keyboard, power brick indicator, the screen was dead. The self diagnostics light also blinks which indicates a dead screen. After about 30 emails and 3 calls to Dell they sent me a new unit. This time the new unit had a working screen wooohooo! but exactly like you said, I opened AWCC and everything just froze only the mouse was moveable but everything else is frozen. This went on for 10 min where I just force shut down the laptop. I went and updated the BIOS, AWCC, Nvidia Driver and other updates now after 3 days of using it, running CSGO, Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk2077, seems to run fine with no more frozen issues.
Have a Dell G5 5500 and its been amazing. Completely reliable, powerful, thermals in *summer* could be better but well managed just a bit high for my liking and the extended warranty was cheap and support is amazing. Can't fault Dell tbh. Pro tip only upgrade AWCC through Dell and never through the MS Store. Also AWCC has a 2 minute timer to start after windows so it doesn't conflict with numerous other software you might have.
My Dell G5 5500 is the worst fucking thing I have ever experienced. The fucking thing is all plastic and easily broke pieces of itself if you don't handle it carefully. By carefully I mean grabbing it like you're a waiter, hands on the middle of the laptop holding it, grabbing it from the middle edge like you would normally do from the bag, pieces of it broke, literally broke off. the fucking keyboard was replace 3 times, and even now, my touchpad would randomly stop working and act like a mouse, the gesture would randomly stop working 3/5 times whenever you use it. The battery is utter bullshit, you can't take it out anywhere unless you get the 240W charger which is the size of a brick and you can't pack anything else on your backpack. Fucking thermals are terrible for me, even leaving it on standby and the damn thing would heat up until you have the equivalent of the fucking sun. Can't return it also because my dad bought it from retailer, such a waste of money.
@@Yayaloy9 See I use mine with an external, keyboard , monitor and mouse and it's only mobile when we go away camping. I will agree battery life is less than optimal but with a 68wh battery and such juicy components its never going to last long. We can usually get a long film done if in battery saver and the brightness is turned down a touch. Thermally the laptop is most happy when the ambient temps are around 21 degrees. Those in hot countries won't get on well with this laptop. I employ various tricks in the middle of UK summer to keep temps down and that's usually turning off turbo boost. Now we are in September it's fine to run full performance and will likely stay that way till June.
I had bought the same spec'ed G15 back in May (Intel 12700h, RTX3070ti) but returned it in the same week. Because it was missing the second SSD slot as Jarrod pointed out and also they missed an extra paid for option which was 4 zone RGB keyboard. I'm still using an old Dell Inspiron 7577 that I bought in 2018. Trouble-free so far (touch wood!) and build quality wise Dell seem to have regressed since. At first I hated me for buying an G5 15 ( older model ). But after realising what a huge difference undervolting and repasting can make, changed my mind. Runs still superb after 5 years now. I don't play directly on it, keyboard and external monitor are used for it and it doesn't sits directly on the table because of airintake. Instead i build him an highstand( will get one of those fancy coolerpads now ). Could say all this should not be necessary and it not really is. I could never play on any notebook keybord and every notebook just gets to hot under it too. Under max performance not over 75c ( with -144mv on the i7-9750h ). For the price I paid this thing has not disappointed in any way.
Can someone tell me if these problems have been fixed? I bought this laptop roughly a month ago and have honestly not experienced one single problem that this guy has talked about in the video. Maybe I just found the Holy Grail of G15's? Idk. It's been serving me well for school, has ran games flawlessly and I've even messed around a bit with Unreal 5 and Blender without any issues. I'll be upgrading to 32gb of RAM tomorrow so I'm excited to see what this thing is really capable of.
This reminds me of the Area 51 desktop. Those had what looks like X99 boards from MSI with a very MSI looking bios, but applying any manual overclocking in bios causes the Alienware software to blue screen the desktop
I think the seconday M.2 slot is underneath the motherboard behind that "sponge" cover. Because the connections that we can see are perfectly mirroring the ones in the populated slot.
My G15 has been an absolute workhorse since I bought it for $700 back during covid, its the Ryzen edition which probably explains why I never got bluescreens and its ironically gone up in price since then. I did what I always do though which is immediately replace the ram in the laptop and do a fresh install of windows to get rid of bloatware. I discovered gaming mode is useless without alienware command center, so I had to reinstall that. For the price I got it at, this laptop is 100% worth it, but at the current prices id have just bought a lenovo legion with literally the same specs.
Your videos helped me a lot in choosing my first gaming laptop, so much information and it was harder to find high-quality content like yours than I expected! Thanks and congrats

I recently purchased dell g15 intel i5-11400h and rtx 3050ti around a month ago and have been daily driving this thing very aggressively. Now, about the G mode I think there are options in G mode as well in the Alienware command centre which I noticed, there are 2 options in which one prefers performance and other rapid cooling, I guess changing that option could be the solution. I always keep it on rapid cool to increase the life but it still kicks my gpu to 90-95W and sometimes CPU to more than 55W.

My goodness, Jarrod, you sure put in a lot of time and effort into this review. Thank you for the heads up. Like HP not tightening their wobbly screens and Dell not adding a second SSD slot, these laptop manufacturers just don't take pride in their products anymore.
I have bought this laptop and didn't face any software issues, but coming to the part where you were talking about second SSD upgrade where you think a part is missing is true. You actually need a proprietary SSD mounting bracket for second slot and Dell doesn't provide you with that. They have done this so that if you wish to upgrade your storage you will be forced to do it through dell. I called them and found that they won't just provide the mounting bracket on it's own, I would need to buy the whole upgrade that is SSD and all other missing parts from Dell only.

Makes me wonder how the 6800h performs as always i keep my eye on the 800$ mark down options at times there are 8c cpu and duel channel ram laptops for that price point for an end user thats generally/realistically only getting it for its non gaming performance figures. With a slight inclination to gaming.
@@rchamy94 i just wish newer gen options with ryzen or the laptop manufacturers offered a nicer "tuning" suite. Some way to make the CPU more docile for daily/driver use or browsing. At times when the cpu/system thinks it needs POWER it goes from a slight 1.7ghz-2.5ghz range to a BRUTE FORCE 4ghz+ at the blink of an eye and the idle/stock fancurves on these systems jump up and down as the cpu freely clocks in and out of would be IDLE range...yet the cpu itself is good/fast enough to do most tasks at those 1.7-2.5ghz ranges regardless so simply having a switch/oc profile to force it to hit 3ghz max would really help for these situations or actually using it on your lap. NGL. BC in the past/few ryzen laptops ive come across "SILENT" mode seems to be the only way to prevent such high clocks/tendencies from the cpu wanting to alweays "OUTPERFORM" the competition...on basic workload/research/browsing. Second an idle core has to be awakened...to access/cache some ram....the thing spikes/voltage. Makes it very hard to use as a portable bc of the heat.
I have one from last year, albeit the entry level 1650 one. As long as you don't have 12th gen, you can still undervolt it and get good temps and better performance
Thanks for the review...already bought the laptop and then decided to watch a vid about it...I was depressed when I saw the title...and kinda regretted it coming...since it's coming a day after the comment is posted...but after the other things mentioned then I wasn't that concerned, only reason I need the laptop is a few games and some work
I just got dell g15 5520 i5 12th gen and rtx 3050 The thing Jarrod saying is quite opposite for me Alienware cc software opens instantly and thermals are quite good compared to acer nitro 5 with same config. I gamed for hours and temps average at 65C to 70C(spiderman remastered pc with high settings). There's some issues with i7 version. Two things i regret is 2nd ssd slot and a thunderbolt 4 port!!
I also had g15 5511 with the same specs but with 11th gen , and my overall experience with it is amazing thermals are the main comeback for dell this Time i am overall satisfied with my purchase of 75k rupees
I also bought the same lap i5 12th gen 3050 last month and never felt these problems. but without game shift temperature goes above 90C with game shift it's below 75C.
Same laptop here bruh haven't faced any of the issue above mentioned in the video just the trackpad is pretty crap and i think the thermal issue are with every 12gen processon they run pretty hot.
Is there any chance we could see Legion 7i gen7 review? :( I plan to visit another country in a week and probably buy it but without your or notebookcheck review it's a bit scary...
I have had this issue - BSODS - like 30-40 times in a few weeks. I bought it 2 months ago and it has been a horrible experience so far. I wonder what I can do about it,
Why would anyone want to buy Dell computers is beyond my knowledge. Dell devolved into this hot-podge of "proprietary" mess and trash hardware with software full bloatware and slower system 😩 Oh let's not forget the scummy "warranty" subscriptions, additional charges and "meh" support 🤑🤑
@Bzake But it still includes additional "hidden" or auto opt in charges, the auto subscription (unless people noticed it) and the "somewhat" support. Together with tons of bloatware, neutered performance and some proprietary Dell practices even an XPS will not redeem it alone. Also there's tons of XPS replacement out there from different companies that has better pricing and performance. Even a gaming laptop can replace the XPS with an extra for entertainment, unlike a dedicated "work" laptop like XPS.
My dell g15 has a problem where it experiences an fps drop to 20 whenever it is moved or shakes a bit. The person at the warranty center said it is because of the build that this happens as the ram vibrates, he keeps saying that it cant be helped. Now I was not informed about this problem when bought this laptop, am I entitled to a refund or replacement ? I dont know what's going on. Also one of my laptop fan is vibrating and make a slight clicking sound but the guy keep telling me that it is because of usage and dust accumulation and that it cannot be fixed.
dell has took a nose dive with their products. Even with the normal dell inspirons and docks we have in the office, it's a nightmare. i stayed clear away from alienware because of that experience
Hello May you help me in choosing between Hp victus 16-d1013ne 12700H RTX3060 16GB 1TB-SSD & Dell G15 5511 11800H RTX3060 32GB 2TB-SSD ? Specially which one have better Materials and less malfunctions ?
I only had bad experiences with dell lately, I don't see myself buying any of their laptops in the foreseeable future, they don't seem to have any quality control on their product.
Did you try re-installing the OS? I know this is not something you should have to do, but I've found in some instances (fixing people's computers) the OEM pre-loaded OS had so much bloatware it would create problems and that doing a true "clean" install resolved that issue (or it was some hidden driver issue that re-installation of the driver couldn't fix because of some other software conflict). I looked at one of these (but a 2023 model) and thankfully I didn't get one I guess. But based on what you're saying it sounds like it's either a heat issue or possibly a BIOS issue (I know machines will blue-screen and sometimes shutdown or just bluescreen if they overheat or some components overheats like the RAM or the GpU). My warning though would be don't always use the latest updates from Intel or AMD. Maybe if the previous version is still newer than the one you have installed, use that one, but not the latest updates from anyone. I've learned my lesson there. It's like how you probably don't want to buy the first gen of a new body style / car... wait a year or two and then buy, because usually the first gen of anything can have issues. Let them work out the kinks, and then buy/download/update. For updates, usually if [major or semi-major] bugs do appear, you'll hear about them within a few weeks and the mfr hopefully will patch them.
I like Dell. They have few of the best build quality and their keyboards are actually much nicer to type on then most laptops even from gaming laptops. Though it comes at the expense of heating issues which plague past Dell gaming machines. I'm looking forward to the G16 coming soon. But they always have either sketchy or outdated software that causes the worst issue. At least you're able to fix it. If ordinary people buy it, they'll probably ask for a refund and get from other brands. Dell needs better software and fine tune their hardware or their just gonna end up being an afterthought.
I have the amd ryzen version for some reason it’s recently just been turning on yet the screen stays black, idk how to fix it and it’s only been like 3 weeks of me owning it after Christmas. I wanna find a fix because my parents would be pissed if they think I broke it (even though I haven’t even done anything physically or digitally harmful to it)

Also just want to be clear that my issues in this video were with the Intel model.
*MiniLED Backlit LCD TV
i had the same AWCC problem on my M17 model. hated it and sold it off
I want a numpad on my laptop, not because I will ever use it “I won’t” but because laptops with numpad keyboards have the WASD keys and the rest of the keys pushed over to the left, so that when I have the screen centered to my face the wasd keys are in a natural spot rather than me needing to put my hand and wrist over to the right uncomfortably to play or have the screen off centered with my face.
With these dedicated calculator buttons, you can easily calculate the price of your next gaming laptop.

That's annoying :( glad it was able to get sorted though!
the fact that you can get dell g15 laptop in iran is just immpresive lmao
there are companies in iran that do that for you with one year warranty also this laptop is a scam i got a l5p(3060 12700 16ddr5) from china for 1923 aud(with todays rates) and i was able to find a 2060 8ram 10th gen for a 820aud

Thanks for posting

As an owner of the i7 12700H / 3070Ti variant here:
1. Update the vBios from dells website to enable an up to 150W TGP
2. My battery life sucks for some reason (2.5 hours max after tweaking) so what you’re seeing is weird

@@Dani-kq6qq I actually really like it. I see why people say it’s terrible, there are a shit ton of software issues (Out of the box you will have to fix them yourself through updates and settings). After a year, review?
Yeah how do end up feeling after a year?
I bought the same version and even my screen is black inspite of everything else running fine, I am contacting dell now regarding that.

My 7577 has far better build quality and also so easy to upgrade/change component. I'm eye'ing on Legion 5 pro later in the year during the black friday.

Someone is for sure not going to get the joke about the light bar and buy that model for the extra fps! 😅

Hey Jarrod I was actually surprised to see the less performance in G mode compared to performance mode without G mode enabled.
And what are the average temperatures if i may ask? Pls mention the ambient temperature tooo thanks

How much does it cost? For the whole package?

Update the bios and alienware software
Why would anyone want to buy Dell computers is beyond my knowledge. Dell devolved into this hot-podge of "proprietary" mess and trash hardware with software full bloatware and slower system 😩
Oh let's not forget the scummy "warranty" subscriptions, additional charges and "meh" support 🤑🤑
@Bzake xps has weird configurations that don't make sense. i9 with 3050 ti. also very expensive for the performance.
