Dunegons are so much easier for lower levels than battlegrounds or any of the alliance stuff. In a dungeon the worst thing that can happen is your team running ahead or people with 'op' gear kill everything too fast. In battlegrounds, you're surrounded by people who fully understand the meta and are taking advantage of it by using their cp150+ character to make amazing gear for their lvl17 character. It's not a question of if you'll die, it's a question of when, and how many times can you be one/two-shot before you get frustrated and give up. If you don't care about the meta and optimizing your build, you're gonna have a bad time in anything but random dungeons and the imperial city sewers.

Btw Jake, what skills/weapons would you recommend for the farm?

If I was completely new with no resources (money or guild mates) I’d start at base game starter zone and just run looting chests first while getting skyshards. All the trainee pieces dropped will be in training trait and I’d just focus on getting decked out training pieces, and as I lvl swap for higher quality or lvl and not worry about sets.
Also a spot rarely mentioned is old Ida’s cottage in deshaan for overland exp farming. Isn’t too overrun and I’ve levelled 20+ toons there.
Also worth noting that if there’s another person and you get in on kills it’s 20% or so more exp than if alone but if you’re 3 doing any content it’s 10% less than when solo and better to go elsewhere

I usually level new characters through the main quest until Coldharbour. Then I have skill points and I'm around level 16.
I make training gear for level 16, 26, 36 and 46. Heartland Conquerer for extra exp gained through your weapon trait. Then if you're stamina or magic, Hunding's Rage or Law of Julianos. Lastly, 2 pieces of either Torug's Pact or Trainee.
Slap on a companion for heals or tanking, ez pz.

So I am farming sculls and just soloed a world boss in Western Skyrim, when on my way up the road to where I want to go, I bump into an NPC in a spooky costume that I have never seen before.
So I interact with it, after some back and forth with it, I get the option to give it 600+ gold or take a curse, so I choose do your worst and take the curse. with that, the NPC say's oh I will and infects me with some purple smoky effect, noticeable every home, delve, or dungeon I visit. This thing can be viewed in your character status buffs and debuffs, but curiously says it has no effect at all, other than a timer for when it runs out; which is like two days, and the purple smoke effect whenever you enter a home, delve, or dungeon. Just bizarre, and wondering if yourself or any of your viewer/subscribers have run into this thing?

    Dolmens in the Alik’r Desert!
Just eliminate simple enemies in the starting area until you reach level 5, then travel to Alik’r Desert, and run to all three Dolmens & unlock their wayshrines. Follow the crowd clockwise and go from Dolmen to Dolmen, and you will level up very fast, and fill your inventory with gear!
I craft level 15 & level 30 gear (all training trait) & experience boosters.
Just one Dolmen will jump every skill on your bar, it’s crazy!

Getting skill points, worry about levels after.
You could be cp3600 but if you don't have enough passives unlocked so you will be weak.

    For NON ESO+ Memebers
Level 10 - 50, more XP per Hour = NO CRAGLORN
You will Level More and In a Shorter period of time if you do DUNGEONS.
    Constantly Queue for Dungeons.
What ever you decide to do, make sure you time yourself, and READ the XP before and AFTER.
Don't just listen without testing it yourself.

Thanks! I needed this since 6 months ago when I decided to get alt chars!
    Edit:
I just do public dung. To get the skill points on bossess and shards I'll usually hit lvl20 running those also doing random normal once a day till I hit lvl40 which I pause and wait for a two times event. I hit lvl50 with enough skill points to fill the necessary crafting skill.
It's pretty horizonal with most of my baby in between lvl 30-40
I don't suggest for alt toon to do Random normal at 40+ as a fake tank/healer since there's a high chance it's a dlc making the run painful

You missed out on the Alik'r Necropolis. 3rd best XP per minute grind in ESO beaten only by Skyreach and of course Black Rose Prison.
IMPORTANT: Read the detailed description in full. Do not rush in wildly, do pause before each fight and do make sure the enemies have all respawned. Then go in to tag and group the enemies all together and only once they are grouped do you go all out trying to kill them.
Do not kill enemies as you gather them!
Do not run away causing the group of enemies to split up!
Do not go into the fight when only half the enemies have respawned!
Doing any of the above things will cut your XP per minute in half or worse!
The Necropolis is over in the North East of Alik'r and the grind consist of repeating three fights that can be accomplished by any player at any level. Like with all XP grind's AoE attacks are your best friend but even if you currently lack anything good in that department you can kinda get by just using the Soul Trap morph Soul Splitting Trap available to all classes. Doing this grind it is easily possible, during a double XP event like we have right now, to level from 3-50 in around 3 hours. How efficiently you handle each fight will ultimately determine your XP per minute but no matter how poorly you do it even the most inexperienced player can earn twice the XP rate that Dolmens will give you.
To start the grind go on over to the Necropolis, once inside follow the path down the ravine until you find yourself underneath a wooden rope bridge.
Under the bridge will be a couple of small groups of Zombies and a dude halfway up the stairs; This is the first of the 3 fights. Tag the mobs, gather them in a tight group and kill them. Don't forget to tag the guy on the stairs and don't bother with the guy past the rocks back up the hill where you came in he likes to keep his distance and is not worth the hassle.
Head on up the stairs and you will see the next fight consisting of 7 small groups. Tag and gather them in a nice tight group in the middle of the area and finish them off. You may end up with the enemy spell casters refusing to come into your AoE and die with dignity, make sure you finish them off before moving on.
Finally cross over the bridge to the final fight in the grind. This one has 9 widely spaced out groups and it may take you a while to figure out the best way to tag them all without losing one group as you tag the next but it is absolutely doable once you get used to it. I recommend gathering them in a nice tight group by the tree at the end of the crumbling little half wall ruin. One of the enemies is often a healer and if you can position yourself just right that healer will be forced to enter into the big group of enemies rather than remaining just out of range of your AoE's and forcing you to take them out separately once everybody else is finished with. Sometimes no matter how well you thought you did there may be stragglers here; It is normally safe to ignore the one or two you missed but leaving certain enemies alive can slow down the respawns.
With the final of the 3 fight grind done head back to the bridge and drop down the left hand side where their are some conveniently placed rocks so you won't take fall damage and start the process again.
A couple of notes about this grind...
Always wait for the enemies to respawn before starting each fight; Depending on how quickly you kill off the mobs you may need to wait 30 seconds or so before starting the 2nd fight to give all the enemies time to respawn. This is super important and the most common way people normally mess up running this grind. Blazing ahead with only a couple of the enemies respawned will slow everything down and significantly reduce your XP gain per minute.
This is a popular spot to grind XP but unlike many other places Grouping up here benefits everyone, gathering the enemies into one big tight group is the key to taking them out quickly and it is much easier to do this if you work together with the other folks running the grind. Having said that some people can be rather anti social so if you find yourself trying the grind out with a couple other people around who won't group then make sure you use a tagging spell to get at least a touch in on as many enemies as possible so you will get your share of the XP. Again I strongly recommend the Soul Trap morph Soul Splitting Trap for this purpose, it is cheap to cast and hits all enemies within a large range with a very obvious bright blue so you know when you have gotten your tags.
Companions are great for this grind and even more importantly this grind is great for companions, unlike running Dolmens the XP here is all from killing enemies which means your companions will get their share; Companions get zero XP from completing quests which is where the majority of XP for Dolmens comes from. It is possible to fully level a companions in only a couple of hours running this grind and if you set your companions up for healing they will help you out on those occasion where you would otherwise be overwhelmed.
Gear doesn't really matter here but if you can get one of us friendly crafters to make you a set of training Heartland Conq it will speed things up for you a bit, bonus points if you pair that with an Adept Rider training set so you can keep up with even the speediest of players. Skills also don't matter so much as long as you have at least one damaging AoE skill so this grind can also be used to train up any other skill lines you may want to use in the future.
