For those with ADD like me who can't listen to the whole video: Public dungeons, main story questline, & dungeons are all fast. Skyshards can be collected after those. Doing the quests in zones takes a long time per skill point. So leave that for the very last thing.
Thanks Jake! Here's a Tip: If you're gonna do delve skyshard hunting or skyshard hunting in general. Get to vampire stage 4 get the Unnatural Movement skill which reduces the cost of Sprint by 50%. If you continuously Sprint for 3 seconds you automatically become invisible. Very helpful especially in delves so mobs don't get aggroed. You can just run pass through enemies, collect the skyshard then run back out the delve :D
You can farm 99 skill points from overland skyshards, 52.66 skill points from delve skyshards, and 33.33 skill points from public dungeons. Vanilla (easy) dungeons yield 24 skill points, and DLC dungeons yield an additional 26 skill points. It's smart to begin skyshard grinding by queueing up for a dungeon first. If you're skill point grinding on combat ready toons, public dungeons + vanilla dungeons is quickest. If you're skill point grinding for lots of weak alts, then focus on discovering overland skyshards & wayshrines zone-by-zone. Overland skyshards require only limited combat expertise; discovering wayshrines will make navigating to delves and public dungeons much easier in the future, and lots of daily quests and holiday events are much easier to farm if you've discovered lots of wayshrines.
On pc grab the beam me up add on. It allows super quick teleporting to zones guildies are in, look for the delve icon by there name and click on it to be ported directly to the delve. I did this with my new char to level and was getting 3 or so skills points every night after work, maybe an hour tops.
When you are in a (group) dungeon , I believe that you have to complete the quest in that dungeon . I have done dungeons with people that like to run through everything and I didnt get diddly. I had to do it over, probably a good idea to let it be known before you start that you are after the skill point.
One of the most common daily and weekly endeavors is "complete a public dungeon group event". The Lost City of the Na-Totambu in Alik'r Desert has a group event with 6 blue glowing symbols on the ground. This event respawns VERY FAST, like 20 seconds, whereas most of the group events in the other public dungeons seem to take forever. When the weekly endeavor is "complete X public dungeon group events", you can knock them out in less than 5 minutes.
thanks Jake, every time I'm stuck or don't know what to do, your video's ALWAYS help me out and keep me going! So I want to give you a huge THANK YOU!!! 💕
Actually, the DLC quests tend to be very long in comparison to the base game zone ones. I think it's a wash on getting skill points from base game vs DLC main quests in terms of time spent per skill point.
Outstanding information - was just thinking about farming up some skill points on my main. Thanks homie!! Hang in there, you're doing good work and making a difference IRL.
The 3 starter zones and then the 3 main capitols are my next go toos :) and people are always there! Because it’s also the size of the public dungeon that matters also and after the starter zones and capitols they get a lil longer on the inside
We will not stand for this!!! I’m in!!! What’s going on here??!!! Fight for us, Jake!! Don’t let them get away with this atrocity!! You’re our only hope!!
So I started doing random dungeons and pledges forever now. Is there a way to figure out which dungeons have no been competed yet? To be able to get that skill point?
All great tips, but I have a problem. I've been playing on Xbox for 6 years and recently started an account on PC. I would very much like to have at least one of my characters do all the crafting and have that maxed out by the time I hit CP 160. That way I can craft some of my own gear instead of having to purchase it off a guild trader and at least have some ok sets to start doing harder content and not be the one that gets the group wiped. From what I have counted, I need 157 skill points alone just for the crafting. Add in what I need for skills and passives we are probably getting close to 225 skill points needed for a viable build. With the experience points I'm getting trying to obtain these skill points is going to put me well beyond CP 160. Any suggestions on how I can obtain skill points and get crafting materials (leather) without gaining experience so fast?
Ive somehow unlocked so many no combat pets and I don't use any of them. I don't even know how I unlocked 90% of them. They just sit there in my collections and every once in a while there's a new one or two. If I could trade each one of them for a stack of 8 tempering alloy I would.
I saw in one of your videos were you can change your load out at a station. Where is that? Also, is there and easier way to find the start of a zone quest. I know when you pull up the map and hit square on the console to continue the zone story it will put a circle around the next house/castle or whatever’s next. But is there a way to find the actual quest starter npc. Thanks.
I used to check achievements for which dungeons I have done or not for the skill point but since the update where it’s account based achievements and not individual characters is there a way to check? I’m on console
best way to get skill points is create the toon you want and just get lost in the world of tamriel and enjoy the game - farming etc trying to get shit fast makes the game a job and you will burn out fast - there is absolutely NO NEED for 505 skill points
Indeed - I don't have ESO+ so I have three crafting alts for provision + jewel/alc/enchant + smith/cloth/wood storing all materials on those characters via BankManager Revived addon, then just do events and zone story in chronologic order. It's a slow burn, but I don't pay a subscription so I'm not in a rush. Caro's Skill Point Saver to respec builds at the armory station.
If you’re doing delves for skyshards or any other instances like pub dungeons, if you’re in group with another person in the instance, here’s a tip: you can teleport to the person and it will bring you to the beginning of the instance, then you can step out and the person can teleport to you then they will end up to the nearest wayshrine and then they can teleport to the next instance and just repeat that!
