What I like about Jodie Foster is that she owns very high human power to reach others without looking down nobody. She earned it through her actress life without falling onto the bad ground. It should have been a quite dangerous way of living with full of temptation but she has been navigating quite candidly. When I say she is clever, a single word is not enough really. But let’s say she is brilliant.
I've seen interviews with Jodie in the past, and she's seemed more shy, less sure of herself. (I'm not just talking child-star Jodie, but even grown actress Jodie.) It seems to me that in recent years when I've seen her in interviews she is much more relaxed, more open, more confident. I don't know if it's simply an age thing; with age and experience and perspective she's decided to just roll with it and have a more relaxed attitude, and/or if it was coming out: she could be her true authentic self, not hiding a secret all the time? Either and/or both, probably. She is SO smart, SO talented. Love to see her work. She had such a long time in the public eye: a lot of that is quite unfair, really- but she has grown up in spite of all that pressure and scrutiny, and here's to many many more years to come! I peg her as an American Hellen Mirren or Judi Dench; continuing to act and tell stories as long as she is in the world.
What you could have been perceiving was a younger woman than she is today who still concerned herself with life worries, but as she's alluded to on The View, she's now in her 60s and with that came the attitude of shaking off life's pressures and caring less about society's perception of you.
Loved her since the 70's she was my girlfriend in my head at 8... LOL! Still love her today and amazed what an amazing actor, director, producer she has become. So happy she came out and holds her head high! Thanks Jodie!
I love her! So happy she's acting again. One of my fav. to this day is Contact. I think they really got me hooked on the sci-fi genre. She's so effortlessly charming.
I wish Jimmy would slow down the interview a bit. He’s constantly interrupting the guest and making it feel rushed. He then just blows through to the next unrelated question as if they don’t have enough time for the interview.
That first episode of true detective night country was outstanding, can't wait to binge watch entire show. There's something erriely weird that goes whenever jodie foster plays a detective or cop, its bound to be brilliant
She's looking good for 61. Can't wait to see the rest of the season of True Detective. Looks dark. Something that works for her. She would've been too young for Leia. The Accused is what promoted her to adult roles.
Do they encourage the audience not to applaud during this interview? It’s so weird that no one cheered when she talked about her hosting job on SNL surrounded by all those legends. And talking about being offered Princess Leia! No one made a peep!! Kinda weird! Love Jodi🥰🥰
One of my fave actresses, she has been acting since the 1970’s. Spectacular child screen star as well, Jodie Foster is the real deal, brains, great sense of humour and stunning beauty. Love her on SNL. Adore her hair and black suit. 😍😘🥰👑💎🏆⚜️✨🤩🌟📺😆 🖤
Carrie Fisher said it herself. She thought she was gonna get fired for not losing weight. Said they would say “No. Still too tubby… Bring in Jodie Foster!”
She was born in L.A., still lives in L.A., and LOVES L.A. In a time where it seems everyone hates Los Angeles, it’s nice to see her pride for the city. ……of course having tens of millions of dollars helps too!
Love that Jodie is a Packers fan. Yes a little play on words there. She knows a great team when she sees one. From one Packer fan to another Go Pack Go!!!
I was aware of her audition for the role of Leia as Carrie Fisher alluded to it in a documentary released over 20 years ago by LucasFilm. They even showed footage of her audition.
She’s the best! Though there were a few weird moments here-thanks to Jimmy-(6:44…) she’s really comfortable and witty in these current interviews! In years past I thought she was much more awkward and standoffish doing the talk show circuits.
It's seriously NO secret that Jodie was up for the role of Princess Leia! Lucas wrote the part with her in mind but she was unavailable due to shooting both Taxi Driver and Freaky Friday so Lucas aged the character by a few years and that's how Carrie Fisher ended up getting the part, although one of the frontrunners was Amy Irving, but she chose to make Carrie with Brian De Palma.
I like Foster as Agent Starling. She also really cute, small kid in 'Courtship of Eddy's Father.' And 'Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane,' she a teenager, poise and very intelligent, without being creepy, while movie totally creep show. They used to always show latter, on TV, Halloween Night. She definitely more than decent actress, with Yale degree. Doesn't seem like person, very easy understand, though.
This might sound a bit random. Thinking of her being in STAR WARS made me think about the sequels. She has never been in a movie sequel. She was offered $20million to be in HANNIBAL (still an impressive amount, but even more so back in 2000, when the film was made). I just think it lends some credence that she's never done a "paycheck movie." She seems to do projects that she's passionate about, I respect that.
The boyfriend and I are on season three…skipped season two cuz it didn’t really catch our attention! Then we want to see the new season with Jodi… can’t wait!!!
leaning towards the killer being a lover. freddie bueller's day off is playing in the first scene. a character is named lulu. and lulu sang shout. the luvvers sang "Here Comes the Night" which this show is about so i would say at this moment. whoever lulu is. she is a person of interest...probably wrong but its a great show.😀 and Jodie is brilliant.
Prettys ure that if they cast Jodie in the movie they wouldn't have done that as ESB wasn't written until later and they would have done that differently.
Random trivia: THE ACCUSED was her comeback film after taking time off to attend college. After seeing a screening of THE ACCUSED she thought her acting was TERRIBLE. She was prepared to leave her film career behind and focus on academia, until she won an Oscar for her performance.
Its tragic jodie couldn't do it coz she's the GOAT, but I'm kind of glad she didn't, she always has been a working actor in the success arc of a movie star and her career trajectory never involved geek servitude also she was 14 in 1977, the backlash and controversy seeing her in the golden bikini would had been massive. Regardless she is a legend and had a bigger career than most of the people in star wars including the one who went on to play Princess Leia
I'm so happy Jodie Foster is acting in movies again. She's one of the greats.
She never stopped acting, she just became more picky
She’s been around and in projects, just lower profile/indie movies
@@Denis-89She's been directing more. Acted here and there but not really passionate until now.
@@missdee4927In suspect she is at a point in her life that she can pick and choose the movies she is passionate about.
I agree.
Her performance in Silence of the Lambs is legendary! One of the greatest actresses of all time!
I met Jodie Foster a few years ago. Talked for a few minutes. She's refreshingly funny and genuine.

She's so smart, cool and real.
She’s a shiny star
Jodie is an authentic treasured woman!
You gotta love jodie foster shes a true class act ,and a legends thank her for sharing her gift of acting ❤.
Jodie Foster in The Accused is the best performance I have ever seen to this day
I saw it again recently and it's such a devastating performance.
I've seen interviews with Jodie in the past, and she's seemed more shy, less sure of herself. (I'm not just talking child-star Jodie, but even grown actress Jodie.) Excellent comment. I too picked up on exactly what you said; her being more awkward in years past…
She is STUNNING in 'A Very Long Engagement.' And speaks French like a native. She disappears into the role.🥰
I will watch anything Jodie Foster does!
Same!
I loved True Detective season 4- watched it twice 😂
@@NoFear69262 I really enjoyed True Detective too!

Jodie Foster is such a great, talented actress and beautiful person. I'm glad to see she is making movies again.
I love Jodi Foster. Phenomenal actress and Director. Such a brilliant woman.

Jodie is a legend. Great start to the new season of True Detective.
I love this woman. She's an amazing actress and she looks incredible. 😃❤️
Hello slickymoxy panic room was a good movie any one of her movies was your favorite just wanted to ask?
@guitarjoe4580 I've loved her since Freaky Friday, but Contact is probably my favorite.
@slickymoxy
I've never seen her version of Freaky Friday just Lindsay Lohan version is Contact any good just curious?🤔

@@edaudiowe have great taste🤣👌🙏
Indeed we do, Jennifer!
Great interview with Jodie Foster. It's a pleasure watching your show, Jimmy.
If Jodie was in Star Wars, there would have only been 2 movies, she would have kicked Vader and the Emperor's ass.
Thank you sooo much for the laughter. You are utterly right❣️😁
I wish Jimmy would slow down the interview a bit. He’s constantly interrupting the guest and making it feel rushed. He then just blows through to the next unrelated question as if they don’t have enough time for the interview.
Yep. Not everybody is Colbert.
He always does that he’s annoying
Well unfortunately that's American talk shows for you.
Not everyone is Graham Norton
Yeah she was trying to talk about her movie with Annette and he interrupted to talk about the football game.
I love Jodie Foster! She's an incredible and versatile actress.
She just gets cuter and cuter. Happy looks good on you Jodie!😊❤
It REALLY does. She deserves happiness and a good life. Always loved her, since I was five years old and saw "Freaky Friday|.
She's like none other. Love her work.
Her acting wasn't acting in The Silence Of The Lambs but it was all natural. Love her!
I grew up watching Jodie Foster and think she's good at acting in movies.
That first episode of true detective night country was outstanding, can't wait to binge watch entire show. There's something erriely weird that goes whenever jodie foster plays a detective or cop, its bound to be brilliant
This True Detective season with her is starting out so compelling! She is awesome.
She's always been cool.

I'm probably going to sound old but, she is like a fine wine..... Amazing woman.
Do they encourage the audience not to applaud during this interview? It’s so weird that no one cheered when she talked about her hosting job on SNL surrounded by all those legends. And talking about being offered Princess Leia! No one made a peep!! Kinda weird! Love Jodi🥰🥰
The movie Jodie did that kept her from doing Star Wars is Candleshoe

That's so cool! She's such a good person! That's how you interview! ❤
Oh, she looks like someone who still enjoys parties and can chat everybody up but at the same time also enjoy a nice evening at home
She would have been a great Princess Laia, or could be. It's not too late. She could take on the role now.
Carrie Fisher said it herself. She thought she was gonna get fired for not losing weight. Said they would say “No. Still too tubby… Bring in Jodie Foster!”

I feel she should have played every Helen Hunt roles, for some reason, especially Twister.
Jodie Foster is amazing in everything she does, I really like season 4 of True Detectives they did a great job.
Jodie Foster is fantastic. So many great movies and films, decade after decade.
I’m most pleased that she wasn’t Leia. It would have been extremely awkward to see Luke and Han lusting for a 14 year old child.
