Several years ago when I first heard this song on a Chieftains album, I was searching my mind for where I heard this before...having not previously heard a recording. I finally deferred to my Mother and asked if Daddy had ever sung "Raglan Road." At 80+ years old, my Mother replied "your Father stood in the kitchen doorway and sang this after your sister's wedding (1971). Each time I listen to this song, it gives me chills, smiles and fond memories of my Dad even to this day.

The two girls who followed us in resuscitation practice quit coughing up crumbs. That was it, thrown off the course. Still no job that following summer but bought The Lion and the Cobra album. Life and her music that summer still lives with me today 2021

Luke was a god, but Sinead is a godess -- equal standing in my book. Both had the conviction to speak out and to have a real conscience, and to not be afraid to speak their mind, as anyone who tried to interrupt Luke while reading prose, or poetry, soon found out, I know, I was silly enough --
