A great performance wish you would come out to Long Island New York . Is a lot of places called Dublin pubs you go looking for that it's not a big place and some good luck keep up the good work👍🏻🙏🌟💯
I'm.pretty sure this on Grafton Street which has a lot of immensely talented buskers. I've been to many European cities but not one has anything like Grafton Street for buskers.
All the buskers on that street are great OK!!. But people walking by are often busy, it's a very busy street with a major Luas station at one end.... Plus many of those people are up and down there daily. The song (iconic) is very well known, often sang by buskers there. So I defence of everybody that just walks by...... I've been there, done that and tipped 💰 many many times 😂
I would love to go to Dublin ones again back in the day I visited several times and loved it. It’s just got to experience for me. One day before I kick the bucket 🪣 I hope 😊
Remember a pub in Belturbet a long time ago... A guy was singing that song. Don't know why but never forgotten that. An Irish man singing an Irish song in an Irish pub... What else... Perhups an Irish girl singing the same Irish song in Grafton street...
Zoe Clarke reminds me of a stunning performance by a young woman in a Metro station in Newcastle, UK. Her beautiful voice and rendition of her self-composed song stopped me dead in my tracks. I asked her why a wonderful singer like her is not appearing in front of audiences of hundreds or thousands and she asked me if I knew the music business. In all honesty I had to say, "No." She smiled and said, "It figures." But I will never forget her.
Stunning when the beauty of this world seems to suddenly appear from nothing then vanishes back into whatever realm it resides. It is the memory of such things we carry. Thank you for this.
When Zoe Clarke shows up in my UA-cam notifications my heart skips a beat. And then she does Raglan Road.....my goodness..... I'm blown away by her beautiful voice, her humble exposure and the perfection of the performance. Yes, I am in tears, and I simply can't wait to go and see her perform myself. This is an extraordinary artist!
As an Irishman this is my all time favourite poem/song . I hate watching people try to sing it because sometimes they just aren’t up to it. This was beautiful, young lady you taught me a lesson here today and thank you for this beautiful 4 minutes.
I stumbled on this and love the song. So I started listening to different versions by all the professionals, including Luke Kelly ands Van Morrison. No one holds a candle to the way she interprets and sings this song. Blown away!
Luke Kelly was always a great promoter/encourager of young, up n' coming artists. He loved artists who took songs & put their own "stamp" on them. He'd have really loved this. A talented modern day performer keeping his signature song alive in her own inimitable style. (Much like what Thin Lizzy did with Whiskey In The Jar) This young girl has a bright future. Fair play to her 👏

💜Wow, Zoe, there are no words to describe the energy you make me feel with your special performance of this beautiful song. Thank you so much. Congratulations. You are the best.💜
I dearly love this song/poem. The 4th line of every stanza is so amazingly perceptive, bittersweet and sadly evocative that they invite tears and sighs of acknowledgement from those of us who have lived a bit. On Raglan Road of an autumn day I saw her first and knew That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue I saw the danger, yet I walked along the enchanted way And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day On Grafton Street in November we tripped lightly along the ledge Of the deep ravine where can be seen the worth of passion's pledge The Queen of Hearts still making tarts and I not making hay Oh, I loved too much and by such by such is happiness thrown away I gave her gifts of the mind, I gave her the secret sign That's known to the artists who have known the true gods of sound and stone And word and tint without stint for I gave her poems to say With her own name there and her own dark hair like clouds over fields of May On a quiet street where old ghosts meet, I see her walking now Away from me so hurriedly, my reason must allow That I had loved not as I should a creature made of clay When the angel woos the clay, he'd lose his wings at the dawning of the day

I dearly love this song/poem.

On Raglan Road of an autumn day I saw her first and knew
That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue
I saw the danger, yet I walked along the enchanted way
And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day
On Grafton Street in November we tripped lightly along the ledge
Of the deep ravine where can be seen the worth of passion's pledge
The Queen of Hearts still making tarts and I not making hay
Oh, I loved too much and by such by such is happiness thrown away
I gave her gifts of the mind, I gave her the secret sign
That's known to the artists who have known the true gods of sound and stone
And word and tint without stint for I gave her poems to say
With her own name there and her own dark hair like clouds over fields of May
On a quiet street where old ghosts meet, I see her walking now
Away from me so hurriedly, my reason must allow
That I had loved not as I should a creature made of clay
When the angel woos the clay, he'd lose his wings at the dawning of the day
...Mesmerizing... 🥺
Spectacular ! Bravo !
