Sinead was a protest singer with the voice of an angel , spoke for many who had no voice ie woman’s rights , child abuse and for her own country which she loved . We will continue to play her music and be ever thankful to her for bringing it to us … Rest In Peace Sinead 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

When I was in a dark mental space as a teenager I decided that I wanted this song to be played at my funeral, I’m now mid 40’s and I still want this song played at my funeral. It’s a beautiful song and I love how It’s performed. I was devastated when I heard the news I can only hope this beautiful woman is now at peace.
Hi being in a dark mental place not space lve lived there my whole life raglan rd and every Irish song with black hair does my head in I'm English dark hair gets the blame for all on a girl Love the song love the true story behind it more.pop out and find out
Sinead O'Connor and Luke Kelly: you both sang sublimely for you country. Such clarity, such beauty. God bless you and all who love Ireland, from an Englishman x
After countless years of loving Luke Kelly’s amazing version, Sinead left me in tears. What a wonderful voice & such a beautiful version of the haunting song.
I have said this many times before, nobody could sing an old Irish fold or rebel sing like our Sinead count, she was a rare one, a very fine one, a gentle kind-hearted one, a very dear one, Thanks a Million Sinead for all the song you sung and wrote, for your great generosity to others especially the abused, down trodden and forgotten ones among us. Yes Sinead you were a rare one, a very special person and we will miss you forevermore
one of the female heros of our time. willing to call out the BS within this country during the 80's. Herself and Bob were the key voices that influence a generation that raised our heads and said we can be as good as anyone right here. Sinead if I every meet you, would settle for a hand shake but would love a hug.
In the mid 90’s I was working in Ireland when I bumped into a woman with black hair and green eyes on Ragland Road, I said “ oh so sorry excuse me” to which she replied “you are English and from Essex” I said “ how do you know I’m from Essex?!” She said “lm very good with accents !” We had a drink and exchanged numbers….but I never saw her again and will never forget her
"Those in power write the history, those who suffered wrote the songs and given our history we have an awful lot of songs." Rest in eternal peace dear Sinead. رحمك الله رحمة واسعة.
'let grief be a falling leaf, at the dawning of the day'. I already miss you so much Sinead, our Iittle island is incomplete without you here with us. You will be so missed......xxx
Incredible talent. Her voice is just so .................... beautifully Irish. Such a talented family. Proud to be Irish. Thanks Patrick Kavanagh for this song.
My hubby and I were in Oughterard ,Co Galway at The Boat Inn yrs ago . I have to say we have been visiting Oughterard for 24yrs until the Covid lie arrived!. .One night we went into The Boat Inn after coming from a .Saw Doctors',concert in Galway. We sat at a table and there was a young girl sitting with her parents . Just the young woman, her parents and my husband and me . She started to sing the song ,'Raglan Rose, 'no music, just her beautiful voice. What an amazing memory my husband and I have of this ,it was so beautiful . I just wish to God I would have approached that young woman when she had finished singing and asked her her name .
I"m an abused cchildd. A trafficked child and I understand completely, her pain. Lived it out, with her, she was never alone, even if she felt that way. Sinead was the beloved and adopted Mother of all abused children, and we lost our Mother last week. :'( I am still mourning, I know what that Irish keening is about, I think I"m going to mourn her loss for a long time...
Un être humain d'une grande générosité et d'un immense talent ...Inoubliable Sinéad ....Merci pour tout ce que tu as pu nous apporter de beau et de sensible .
I cant understand why this video or something similar cant be aired abroad as a means to boost our tourism, especially in this time of recession. If i was a foreigner i would love to see some of those destinations.Im irish and i still find our scenery jawdropping

The loss has hit many of us hard, but we will remember Sinéad by carrying on the work & supporting each other.
I’m guessing she didn’t get hit by a truck

Thank You.
RIP Sinead so sorry we didn’t realise what a gift you were until you were gone. This is such a beautiful memory ❤❤
In my music collection I had 1,200 LPs, 400 CDs and Sinead's first LP. Sadly, it has taken her death to discover her talent.

This song will be sang in heaven with a chorus of angels her voice was so beautiful
One of my father's favorite Irish standards and favorite versions of it. RIP, Sinead.
Standard?
On my Rosary list R.I.P Sinead, your haunting heart felt voice will remain forever. "Slate", Erin go bragh....Dominic

This is the most beautiful redition of this song I have ever listened to.
Thank you for sharing this gem.
A glorious version of Raglan Road from Sinead, plus, a superb low whistle solo from Davy Spillane at 3:42 puts the icing on the cake.

un ange s'était égaré quelque part en IRLANDE puis vient de repartir au ciel 😢 au revoir SINEAD
Sinead just stops me...I cannot leave until she has finished.
True
A true tear jerker by the great voice of O'Connor.
She sings it properly, unlike many other versions. "Known" should be at the end of the line, to rhyme with "stone".
No find the story behind the song a girl who's tired of causing trouble in Irish songs because my hair is black plus I'm a Brit
