The trouble with Landrover is that for reasons beyond me they’re the ones that try new stuff first and that means it becomes a “Sucking it and see” scenario!
It looks good but being the first isn’t a good idea.
PS: There was only ever one Defender and it wasn’t that thing full of electronics.
............. One Word................. UNRELIABLE.........I have often wondered WHY in Documentaries or movies These HEADACHES are seen / used as a vehicle to use when in rugged unforgiving terrain????...... Most likely donated by the British for SALES / Advertising!
@@MarkZolezi yea, you re right!
I bet people with little knowledge of cars buy these but by the time they sell them they'd have learned a lot
Facts 💯
Surveys show that Land Rover are possibly the most unreliable vehicle out there , however we would have to ask the owners what type of engine oil they use ? Do they use the best lubricants ? do they use the best gas or highest octane required for the vehicle ? Do they give the vehicle the maintenance by the book ? Do they care about the car or abuse them ? Mostly of those owners don’t even know what kind of car they drive and neglect maintenance because the astronomical prices.
Great point, proper care and attention can go a long way
@@MarkZolezi👍
My neighbor has one and it got wrecked. It took him quite awhile to get the parts from england.
Yes parts are harder to get in any of the JLR vehicles including g Jags
Bought a used 2010 LR2 or freelander that had 50.000 miles on it. It was 5 years old when i bought it, it has had some issues but it has 160k on it and it is still going. I have an independent LR mechanic that helps take care of it, i asked him what was the most reliable LR, he said the one your driving. The LR2 is the cheapest and smallest one they made at the time. So it is almost 15 yrs old.
Would i buy another, no way. I just commute with it now. Bought a used Lexus NX. Buy Toyota or Honda for sure.
Great to hear
They're lease vehicles period!!
Reliability? Toyota Land Cruiser or 4Runner.... I don't buy my rides to impress people I don't know
Sounds good
I had a 2014 evoque, bought it with 80,000 miles and put 60,0000, i always kept up with oil and air filter changes and always put oem original parts, the only problem i had was the gear shift know went out at 120,000 miles, other than that it was a great car, sold it because i needed a bigger car
That’s great to hear. Hopefully my Jags does me right as well
@@ECPP with proper maintenance it should, stay away from oil aditives
The Bronco will also fall apart like the defender
Yes it does not appear to be all that well built
Land Rovers are style over substance...they look incredible, but you'll regret owning one...
Almost every Range Rover I see has the air bag problem. I don't understand why this company can't solve the issue.
Odd mode of failure though
Because they don't care about the consumer, they only care about $$$$$
Air bags are made for another company, there was an scandal with the “TAKATA” company that affected almost all Japanese car makers
@@64arguz I meant air suspension
They all use the same company takata. My Acura has a recall on the airbags as well but Honda won't do the work because it's Acura the nearest Acura dealer is in Peoria Ill or go to Des Moines and get it done there.
Rich people lease brand new for three years and sell to not so rich people but want to looked rich.
Yes there is a lot of that
Why? More time in the repair shop than on the road.
Assuming you can find parts
@@greathey1234
Of course you can find parts this is not a Yugo that's how they make their money
@@greathey1234the land rovers you have to order them from England.
@@MarkZolezi
You know it Marky Mark 🤣
Because NO one Wants it. Repair will ruin anyone who's not prepared. My 2011 XF AC just stopped working: $3k+. tchi-ching. Still love that car.
Jags a still great cars and many competitors have expensive failures too. Try Acura V6 crank issues or mag suspension
They are cheap because they are junk. Like all European cars - if you are foolish enough to buy one, sell it before the warranty runs out ... any honest mechanic will tell you that.
Facts 💯
Exactly 💯 % right Landrovers are money pits
Not all Euro cars are bad 😢
Correct, just buy a Jeep or a Ford exploder.
😂🤣😆😅😎👍
I can't believe keep buying / leasing these cars.
Leasing these cars from LR, BMW , MB, JG, etc you still have a warranty. Buying these cars outside warranty is the issue.
@@JamesJ30tOk, I just stay with my 08 Honda Accord with 190,000 miles.
Ouch! $2500.00 on your Jag.................. Ouch on your Porsche as well for X High Bucks jus' to FEED and Cloth these fun ego traps...speaking from hands on my Ferrari was 4690.00 Service Per year my Daily D is a Lexus...$76.00 & Lexus filled my tank!
Yes it’s really a pay to play game. What type of Ferrari do you own ?
Ford gm produces the v6,v8 supercharged
Transmission flush? Why?
I wouldn’t
Because they are POS , you'll need a separate bank account saved up just to keep it running or worse case scenario the JLR vehicles will bankrupt you .😢
One very important thing you need to remember Mark…
Landrover makes your beloved Jaguar :-)
His F type is fairly reliable. I know from experience as I've owned my 2013 XF for five years and counting. Gorgeous cars, great to drive, fairly reliable.
I love my old landrover. New ones aren't the same
That’s fair
Insanity for maintenance!! 😵💫😵💫
Yes it’s pricey
You lease them and throw them back at the dealer at the end of the lease.
Agreed
Attention Range Rover dealers...all you need to carry on your lots are the Defenders.....everything else, throw in the trash can!
Defenders are quite cool rides
YES!!!!!
I'll stay with Acura, Honda, Toyota or Lexus and Mazda or a new Nissan Frontier
Some safe brands
@@MarkZolezi yes they are, my neighbors wife has a beautiful red one and she loves it
People who buy those have more dollars 💸 than sense. It's a status vehicle (showing off look at me, I spent $80k on a money pit)
And most don’t keep them long so reliability does not matter
@@MarkZolezi I spent $1200 on a 2007 Ford Focus and it has 291k miles with original engine and a manual transmission, true, it has no frills, but it's reliable because I do have a great shop that does normal maintenance for me
@@MarkZolezi I think your father was teaching you a valuable lesson:if you need or want anything, you have to work for it and/or learn how to do things on your own
A no 😂 and no 😅
Because they are horrible vehicles. They are worthless after the warranty is up. Nothing but expensive issues.
If you want a Land Rover/Range Rover product, buy the new 2024 Lexus GX.
Why they sel the crap
A good deal on a used Range Rover...🤣
Great deals to be had
Defender? Yes, it's pretty but I'll stick with my 2010 FJ... A piece of Indian/Chinese junk....😄😄😄
FJ is a great little rig, but Toyota knows how to build them to last
Absoluut rubbish . I had many of these Defenders in South Africa 🇿🇦 and they are crap 💩. 😂
Thanks for sharing. Landcruiser is a safer bet.
@@ECPPAbsolute
There are with Jaguar a shit
Nice
@@ECPPPeople are badmouthing Jaguar ... meanwhile we are enjoying our beloved Jaguar cars.
🤣 at the title of this video,
How is that possible, when the vehicle itself costs more and more every year while the reliability stays the same, what they think they are, American
Thanks but I have to ask as used prices are very compelling
They are cheap because they are money pits as they age and will send their owners to the poor house
Yes they are pricey to own
something tells me most of people who buy those new - dont care about depreciation :)
.............................DUMB Renters //Leasing ego people
Asian made cars will never drive like German made cars,
Because GERMAN cars Do-NOT drive except from your Dumb Leasing agent to the Service Department
Thanks
They are junk. Thats why
Ouch. Their feelings may be hurt
Like a woman, lovely on the outside crappy on the inside
Ouch
