Using a soot wash brick tinting product to create authentic looking smuts.
It is important to pressure wash the individual tiles you are going to be tinting to remove any surface contaminants. This helps the product fuse to the available silica in the clay of the tile.
Allow the tiles to fully dry out before applying the soot wash.
