Your page protector exclamation made me laugh. They ARE like gold these days! I search thrift stores for albums. Often, people have thrown them out because album covers became damaged or faded, but I take them all apart. The page protectors, spacers, and binding screws are always in perfect shape! I just throw away the rest. I get all these spare "parts" for WAY less $$$, than ordering new.
I use the same system & plastic envelopes but loved the tip about taping the back of the clear pocket ridges as my tabs do come off. I didn’t do clear tabs though. I punched a tab out of my CTMH samples & stapled them to the envelope. But I love the neatness of the clear tabs so I’m about to order those:) Thanks. I LOVE all of the CDT’s organization videos! Keep them coming ❤
Love how you've labelled these on the side so they can stand up with the smaller pieces in them. I'm thinking I need a whole redover for Stampin' Up! and my system and #chelseymademedoit is such a good thing to get my SU cardstock/pattern paper under control.
YT blocked your comment, I think it was the hashtag 🤣 I'm really loving this system for my paper plus it's pretty to look at! I feel like since I'm bringing in new supplies, I need to refresh my storage to make my workflow better and get rid of the piles!
Thanks so much for sharing this! Funny, I just moved all my 12 x 12 papers into the fabric bins this week, and then saw this. I built shelving in my craft room closet and they were in the plastic containers, stacked on top of each other on the floor. The fabric bins make it so much easier to pull out and grab what I need. I don't have quite the supply you do, but 4 fabric bins hold it all - each fabric bin holds the equivalent of 5 plastic bins! I also moved my 8.5 x 11/ 8x8 to smaller sized fabric bins. My most used white/neutral/watercolor/mixed media paper will be stored in or on my desk.
This is super efficient. There are clear acrylic shelf dividers that clip to the bottom of shelves. Amazon has these and a vast selection of other shelf dividers.
Hi- Welcome to Stampin Up! TSMFS ♥Always interested to see how "we" Demos organize..SU retires paper every 6mos..it was unusual DSP carried over to the new '24-'25 catty,.Im not as organized as you- but I did LOVE the new 12x12 holders you've invested in & will do the same- and may I also suggest-Create a new container for your Stencils. I LOVE using them & with diff mediums,,like Cosmic Shimmer or Stencil Butterr- both are non SU products- & SU has been adding stencil /mask sets & I think you will love adding to your stash.. (As long as SU doesn't have a competing product- we can use it. ) TY♥
Thank you for the warm welcome and info. There is so much to learn starting with a new company! I have a very healthy stencil collection 😂and I keep mine in scrapbook albums inside page protectors. This is the best system I've found to keep them organized and not all tangled up. I haven't picked up any new pastes lately, I might have to check out the stencil butter!
Love watching craft storage videos. I also have mine stored in plastic sleeves and bags. Need more sleeves for my patterned papers. Finding a cube storage system the right size seems to be more difficult here in New Zealand but will keep searching as i love the idea. Also planning to store my stamp sets the same way you have as i collect up some new furniture for my craft space. Thanks for sharing😊
I had a couple people comment about their like turning into a dislike, but it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. Not sure why that's happening, but thanks for letting me know. Here is a link to the Malm dresser from Ikea so you can see the dimensions. www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/malm-3-drawer-chest-white-10576209/ Each drawer fit approximately 160 sets, but it depends on how many had dies in the package. You could probably fit a few more than that in, but you don't want it so full that it's hard to flip through your stamps. I hope this solution works well for you. So far I'm loving it!
I love the plastic sleeves for paper too! I decided to put my mix-ins in with the same color of cardstock when CTMH made it the same color, different pattern, on both sides. I love your organization tips. I’ll be watching for more!
This was so helpful, thank you! I have those storage envelopes and I use them for my collections. I also store on my IKEA shelves standing like books. My CTMH cardstock is in hanging folders in a metal IKEA bin that fits in the IKEA cubes. I keep either a cheap 12x12 page protector from HL or an 8.5x11 page protector in the front to capture all of my little scraps. I did have everything in rainbow order, but switched to alphabetical. I can’t decide which way I prefer as they both work
I have recently moved, and am getting back into scrapbooking. Which means organizing what I have. Love your 12x12 envelope idea. Will so be stealing it.
I really like how you organized your colored paper. It looks neat and easy to find. I keep my paper in 2 gallon zip lock bags but it looks messy and takes time to find things. I just ordered the same labels and envelopes that you mentioned and am excited to get organized! Thank you for your video.
@@annetteyoung7913 it's a Brother P-Touch label maker. Mine is the older version of this one amzn.to/3W14nOA but I think any of the ones in this line should work. I just didn't think I needed the big one.
Two questions about the large envelopes: 1-Do you worry about dust getting into the top since there isnt a flap? I work in my unfinished basement, so it is always on my mind. 2-How many sheets will fit comfortably without bending edges or stressing the plastic? Love the look of them and the labels, i just need to be sure it is rhe right fit for me!
I know I already replied to your message, but I'll rely here too in case others are looking for the answers to this. I'm not worried about dust. I don't live in a super dusty area, we don't even have a back alley or anything and these paper sleeves will be packed quite tightly onto my shelf, so there won't be a lot of opportunity for much dust to get in. You could always rotate them so the opening is on the side. I thought about doing this but I was worried about all my scraps falling out. As for how many sheets will fit, I did find in the product description on Amazon that they say max 60 sheets. I would prefer less, like 30 or so but you could put more in.
I have recently started changing the way I store my paper. I also had it stack with tabbed labels but realised it was too hard to pull the lower ones out. I’ve started standing them in their sides but I have them in our old plastic workshop bags and keep the leftover pieces in the bag too.
It sounds like you have a good system that's working for you. That is the most important thing! So far I'm enjoying how I've reorganized my paper and it's super easy to find everything. This shelf is across my room from my desk so I'm also getting some steps in every time I go to get paper lol
I love your rainbow of paper! It is so pleasing to the eye! I’m curious how you sorted your Mix-in papers by color since they often have two different colors on each side? I just did a paper purge also and left the Mix-Ins for last. 😂
I’m really enjoying my paper rainbow! For the mix-ins I just chose my favourite side and sorted it that way. I also added papers that I only had a couple left in a pack or random patterned papers that didn’t belong to a collection. It’s working really well!
I bought those acrylic sheets from a local scrapbooking store when they were closing and I’ve hoarded them ever since! You might be able to find something similar on Amazon.
I have been sorting my paper in those envelopes and into refrigerator bins. I am into my third 82-pack and ordered a 4th to make sure. I love sorting in those envelopes. I do not have any Close To My Heart or Stampin Up products. Mine is all collections. Some duplicate that I am donating or just passing on.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned already, but the plastic sleeves typically are too large to fit when you use the cube dividers. Wanted to mention so that you can double check the size before purchasing the dividers.
That's a good suggestion. I did ask my friend who has those dividers to double check for me and she said they fit in her Kallax with the dividers. So far I'm happy with how my shelf is working and I don't think I'll add the dividers at this point.
@@ChelseyVorosmarty Awesome! This issue was mentioned in one of the many videos I've watched recently to get paper storage ideas, so I have been avoiding them as an option for myself. Good to know that some plastic sleeves may still work.
I have used some G45 in the past, but it's honestly not really my style anymore. I need to add quite a bit of cardstock to make it work. It is very beautiful though!

Thx for this! I have a bunch of paper in Iris bins that you just gave me the idea to go through them and only keep what I really want to keep!
It's amazing how stuff can pile up over the years and then you realize you don't even like that style anymore! Happy paper purging!

The bottoms are not pleated. I haven't had any issues with my papers getting damaged in these. So far I'm very happy with how this system is working.

So really you have to have 2 different spots one for a few sheets and then one for the pack.? I don't have the space for that
The folders hold a full pack plus scraps of cardstock. I have extra packs of white and some other colours that I will put into the folders as I use them up.
A question - I rewatched and didn’t see the answer. What was the sheet count that the 12x12 would hold? Thanks
The product description on Amazon says up to 60 sheets of paper. I prefer mine a little less full.
