Does any gearbox oil leak out? Took the cap off mine a tiny bit and oil started to leak out so hit it back on as have no oil and didn't want to take it off incase I needed to refill it. Cheers
Hi boss my mk1 golf just didn't get clutch yesterday my arm by the gearbox where the cable was loose and when you use push in the clutch it was loose like the cable is broken but it's not can you help please
I have a very very similar sound on my Golf mk4, and it uses an old type of transaxle like in your video, where the release bearing is outside of the box. The sound only appears when the car is completely stopped and clutch is not pressed, when i press it sound goes away. A very small movement of the car mutes this sound as well. I called a mechanic to ask what the problem is and he said it must be the input shaft bearing. Maybe you will know what the problem really is here? Very good video!
@@misterispusovcikas9066 then it most definitely is not the release bearing, it’s your flywheel. The release bearing makes noise when you depress the clutch
Please check your steering colomn sometimes when it has cracked your clutch pedal will automatically be down close to the floor, common problem for Mk1 👍👍Mavo"
What was the problem in the end? I have a problem with mine it wont go into gears without a massive struggle i will replace this release bearing today and hope it solves the problem
oooo one of those simple things but a bladdy pain to replace yoh i thought now i know how to do one.. You need to do an oil change on that gearbox bru that box dont sound right.
Can't wait for you to get the cam and show those velociti who is boss
is it possible to remove the clutch push rod and replace it here while were at it ? or does the transmission have to come out to replace that rod

We got the cap off on my daughter's golf and also clutch cables, but we can't get the clutch lever to drop. How do we do this?
Move the lever from where the clutch cable came from

Thanks I learned something, know if you can teach me to install new clutch. Regards Markus
No problem , it's pretty simple
So I don't need to open the gearbox like someone suggested? Also the pedal is way too close to the floor, can't engage gears without a struggle

You only need to adjust your cable, however these cables tend to stretch over time and you just need a new one, and it's inexpensive
Your pressure plate could also be be on its way out
How much did you pay for a new release bearing bru?
I paid R60 for my release bearing
Hi bro is it 5 speed gearbox or 4 ?

What are the signs of a bad release bearing?
