- I am sharing tips and sewing footage all about fitting a woven bodice that reaches the natural waist. You will see flat pattern vertical measurements and adjustments to help you fit your own bodice. I am using the Lyric dress bodice from Love Notions to demonstrate the easy process.
I am making a new size and will adjust according to my current body measurements. You can get a great fit too!

I’ve made skirt by adding a waistband, a fully lined dress for my mum and much more with this great pattern.

Specifics:
*Size 16, C cup size
*Lowered the bust dart by 1”
*Shortened the waist dart by 1 ¼”
*Buttons are 2” apart
*Knee length skirt option
*Rayon/linen blend fabric
*Added some extra coverage to the sleeveless armhole

Excellent explanation about bodice adjustments! Your techniques are like what my seamstress aunt taught me when I was a teen in the seventies. The more I watch you, the more memories (happy!) are coming back to me about what I learned from my aunt. It’s coming back to me and I’m more and more confident.

So agree with you about first measuring body and pattern, make adjustments and then check and finetune the fit with a quick muslin. So much better results and actually easier than trying to fix things after the fabric is cut and the garment sewn up. Lovely dress! Beautiful fit! 💕

I’ve had this pattern for a year now and my sewing skills have improved enough for me to give it a go. I’m excited! I feel so confident now to make those adjustments to the bodice and then sew up a muslin. I’m one of your biggest fans - you really know how to teach. This is a TNT pattern for me *but* I made it in viscose and the weight of the viscose (compared to previous versions in linen, cotton etc) made the waistline drop by over an inch!!

What a wonderful video to wake up too! I bought this pattern a year ago, but haven't made it because I was going to have to size it up. So happy that LN have sized it up and saved me the headaches! I really like the way your linen/rayon drapes. That is one fabric I can't seem to find here.
