Thank you so much my instruction booklet said lift up the plastic shield first if down, it does not budge I found this video and realised I didn't need to lift it at all only turn the hex key. Much appreciated just used my saw today to upcycle wood I found free into tomato and other plants canes.

I just used it to cut a few pieces of plywood boards ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS works great. The blade that came with it isn't very good and I bought a much better bosch one which made much cleaner cuts. Blades were cheap, a few bucks.
