Great simple video and straight to the point. Just bought my first jigsaw and this gave the essentials of getting the tool set up. Now to watch a few videos on using it and then a deep breath and time to cut into the timber!!!

THANKS! I viewed several other videos before I found yours. Your video was by far the most helpful :)

Thanks so much for this video! My dad is a carpenter and introduced me to a jig saw for the first time and I was amazed! I thought you had to use a table saw to cut through wood. I am so happy that it turns out I can just use a small device for my projects! The video was very straight forward without a lot of stuff i don't nee to know.

Thank you so much! I assembled my jig and was nervous that the piece parallel to the surface isn't at a 90 deg angle to the blade. Turns out, it doesn't have to be. Thanks again!

Very short and sweet video packed with helpful info. You solved my problem of getting the back of the blade to rest against the guide wheel. I didn't know the whole assembly moves forward. Users manual didn't tell me that, but you did. Thank you!

Thank You. I'm a female trying to use a Jig Saw for the first time. Your video was the 8th one I watched. The previous 7 didn't explain how to adjust the wheel.

Thank you. Your's was the only video i found for an older jigsaw that uses two screws to hold the blade. (Newer jigsaws don't need tools.) It's easy to incorrectly install the blade so its leaning to one side, but I think I finally got it.

This must be my most underused tool, which is a bit daft as it’s so versatile. I might use it more if I bought some blades facing the opposite way.

  • @JF-mq8tp

I have a Skil 4490 Jig Saw and next to my 75 mm Howitzer it’s the most dangerous tool in my garage. (I really don’t have a Howitzer.)
The geniuses in the Skil design department made the off/on switch more than half the size of the handle so it’s hard to pick up the saw without inadvertently turning it on.
I noticed that the saw featured in this video has the same problem. Notice when the demonstrator is holding the saw by the handle, his fingers are on the trigger.
My saw is equipped with all the bells and whistles that Skil could load on a Jig Saw and had they installed a one finger sized trigger it would be great. However, their trigger is 3-4 fingers long and is a real danger.
Anyone want to by a Jig Saw cheap? It has very low mileage.

i know this is an old video, but i'm going to ask: is there a reason why the blade bends so quickly? i've looked and there's no blade calibration feature on my jigsaw. i wonder if it's the blade roller guide. is this a possibility?

i noticed that your jigsaw use's an allan key system, but you used the T-bar blade.?
and not a C-cut blade,.? dose this mean that the older jigsaw can take both blades.or is there a danger involved in not using the right one.?

I'm not sure but is mine probably a Plaine jig saw, that you can't make any changes on. I guess I need an up to date one. But what I was looking for was how to Oil an old Jig Saw. Where do I put the oil??? Please help.
