BKT (Bak Kut Teh) is famous in Klang, not Glen. I know the restaurant owner’s English pronunciation wasn’t that good; just correcting it for the people watching that wish to go to his place, or one of the many BKT restaurants in the Klang area :)
I love how honest this guy is he don't roll his eye's and fall out of his chair acting like it's the best thing he ever put in his mouth like other youtubers out there! I can trust his reactions are authentic! Love his videos!
If u can get a local to bring u, moat of us will bring u to different places. There are better places to the own local because of the different living areas. Some of the places Rick brought him are more expensive than some places that I usually go to and the food tastes as good.
Your friend sounds like such a nice guy, he doesn't care about you dipping your hands in the sauce he wants you to have the best time! Positivity runs through the Asian blood!
Haha! Yes! My wife was attempting to queue in a Malaysian supermarket and was fuming when people were just walking in front of her! 😂 they were also trying to convince her to buy whitening cream to get rid of her freckles 🤣 it’s just amazing experiencing different cultures.
+Will Seabrook - That's why despite my love of other cultures and food I'd have problems traveling like Mikey so I live vicariously through him. I'm a very introverted and demure person so it'd be really hard for me to wave off all these people getting in my face trying to force stuff. I'd either wind up buying everyhing or hide in my hotel room, not sure which.
I had a surgery recently and I barely could eat anything. I feel so satisfied by watching your food videos. So thank you so much for making these videos. I marked a few places you recommended in your videos. I’m looking forward to eating those wonderful food in my next trip. 😭🙏
Thank you so much for coming to Malaysia! It’s just amazing being able to see a food video consisting of the foods I grew up with. I’ve even been to some of the restaurants in this video, which I don’t think has ever happened before- franchises like McDonald’s and Starbucks don’t count since they aren’t technically Malaysian food. I absolutely can’t wait for the Penang videos! I’m from Penang and the thought of being able to see someone from UA-cam channels I adore (I love your other channels as well) experience the delicious/delectable/ scrumptious food available in Penang is so exciting. I’ll be frank, I’ve never commented on a UA-cam video before but this is such a personal topic for me and I just feel like Malaysian food doesn’t get enough representation overseas so the fact that you went to Malaysia just to try our food means a lot to me. By the way, I really hope that you went to Genting. It’s not really known for its food and the theme parks aren’t opened yet but it is the largest hotel in the world and has a ton of shops (and restaurants) so it’s just a place you have to go when you come to Malaysia, even if you just stay overnight. P.s. it’s Klang not Glen (I was actually staring blankly at the screen for a few seconds wondering why a Ba Kuh Teh restaurant would be named Glen) Fun fact: The reason why I didn’t watch this video earlier was because I was out getting breakfast. I literally can’t watch any of your videos without something on hand to munch on because I always get so hungry watching you eat.
I watch your videos daily. you have definitely become my favorite food youtuber! I love watching your videos. I went grocery shopping the other day after binging on your ramen videos and ended up buying a whole crazy amount of garlic and noodles, etc to make the things you ate lmao. keep being awesome.
Commenting again. I just love his friend, so sweet! "Use the spoon, ahhh go ahead!!" Nice guy! I'm from the Southeastern U.S. I would love to see Mike's reaction to our seafood. No, it's not all fried and loving on the coast it's so very fresh. I am late to the party. Just found this guy a few months ago. He is my current favorite UA-camr!!
This is great.....I've been to Kuala Lampur, Ipoh, and Penang. When I was in Ipoh, the youth orchestra I was in was invited to the sultan's palace for tea. That tea cemented my love for the rambutan.
Mike, ROJAK actually means 'to mix'. It can be annything from fritters, fishcake, deep fried squid, crab, hard boiled egg, potatoes, noodle with a special peanut sauce like in satay. This is regular rojak, or if you heading north to Penang it's famously known as Pasembor. The one you ate in Singapore is what we called as Rojak Buah which literally translated as mix fruit and served with different types of sauce.
When I was in Kuala Lumpur years and years ago, we used to go to a outdoor restaurant that was called The Pink Table Cloth.. Dang their Chili crab was the bomb!!! We also had some really great steam boat and their rice, oh man.. so good. When you were talking there at the end it reminded me of that restaurant because of the pink table cloths. Afterrwards we would get some street food dessert.. OMG, I love Apam Balik (Malaysian Peanut Pancakes) I keep wanting to make that.. There are a lot of good recipes.. I love it with the cream corn in it.. it just does something to it!! YUM!!!
There are actually 2 types of rojak in this country. The one you ate is known locally as the Indian rojak but you can also find the type that you ate in Singapore which we call the fruit rojak. Personally I prefer the latter version and Penang is famous for it 😄
Mikey breaking new ground for Asian foods but most as I watch youtube. You represent the new avant garde Asian videos. Great to show my grand kids. They love to watch you. Mikey the pioneer.. In twenty years you will be on medium as the beginning of asian culture.
Good morning Mike. Greetings from Malaysia. I think the place that Bakuteh seller referring to is Klang. Not Glen. Good day. :D I love your content btw..
DANGLICOIUS!!! 4th lunch...Hobbitsis!! I love chili crab and ginger crab. I think I am going to make some tomorrow. For a while I was making it like every other day..
Oh Mikey, Mikey, Mikey. What can one say that hasn't already been said about the absolute best, most exciting and authentic Food Vlogger out there?! Geez I don't know. Anything I say will be repetitive but so true. You're the best Mikey 🤗😍😊😎😄
Last year your videos made me go to Singapore, somehow after watching this video I suddenly really feel like visiting KL for a second time. That crab, that chicken, those noodles, that bak kut teh. It all looks so darn delicious....
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH 😁 NO DOUBT YOU HAVE THE BEST CHANNEL 😊 AND NOT JUST THIS CHANNEL YOU ARE SUPER HARD WORKING AND YOU'RE ALWAYS HAPPY😄😃😁 GOD BLESS YOUR EVERY JOURNEY.. WISH TO EAT WITH YOU ONE DAY😉😋
i come home everyday from work, lay down on my bed to check if there are new uploads from you.. literally a comfort. i feel like we have the same taste buds!! 😆😆😆😆 to more chilis!!!
Mike, Your relationship with your food friends is so relaxed. Love Rick. Just two, or three guys chowing down on excellent food. I have to share, its 3am here, and you make me so hungry that I am considering making sesame chicken!! Problem is , I have a tendency to pile on the pounds. Life is so unfair!!!
Food review on Malaysian food that has bak kut teh, chilli crab and kin kin pan mee. This is the best review of Malaysian food so far. Well done Mike!!
Very beautiful place for foods in. Malaysia very healthy fresh foods enjoy your food thank you for sharing your food in. Malaysia foods is as good as in Singapore thank you for sharing your beautiful healthy foods thanks
I'm so glad you had chilli pan mee because it is honestly the hidden gem in Malaysian cuisine! Can't wait to see your Ipoh and Penang adventures! There's definitely even more delicious food there.
I realized that mikey is my spirit animal. I mix anything to my food to make it taste better! I dont mind eating breakfast food at dinner or lunch food at lunch. And i love anything garlicky, savoury, spicy and i dip everything in vinegar! hahaha Food explorer fo sho!
Just to be clear, the Singapore Rojak that you ate is totally different. There's Indian Rojak and in this video, it's Malaysian Rojak. Rojak is a common term that is being used (abused?!) to mean a bunch of food or fruits being tossed up in some sauce. They are not comparable in my opinion even though they have the same last name.
Hi Mike, originally I had plan on a week for KL only and the reserved the rest for Penang. Now, after watching your videos, I will have to change my plan next year and my one week to KL will be changed to 2 weeks. Just love watching your videos.
I showed your Malaysia videos to my Malaysian friend and she’s like “WHY IS HE ONLY TAKING HIM TO CHINESE SPOTS? HE’S NOT EVEN TRYING NASI LEMAK.” And I realized woah she’s right you’ve been trying out mainly chinese food in Malaysia.
Zyeahhhhhhhhhhhhh ur going to Pinang yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh pls remember to go to air itam at Pinang its a very crowded pasar (morning market) it’s has great laksa
Speaking as a Malaysian of Chinese descent, it is nice that Chinese food is covered but I am disappointed that Malay and Indian food were not explored in Kuala Lumpur. There's a good selection of Malay food, particularly grilled seafood, in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian style Indian banana leaf rice would be right up Mike's alley.
The place he visited are mostly chinese populated... and his guide probably just bring around more to the chinese restaurant that he is more familiar with.
Malaysia have two style of Rojak. Pasembur is the mamak style and consist of dough fritters, boiled eggs like what is it in this video. Another type is fruit rojak which consists of different kind of fruits cover in crunchy peanut shrimp paste ! Mikey you are the best ! Always drooling while watching your videos!!! :)
No one is racist here. The guide is more familiar with Chinese foods and eateries just like how most Malays are more familiar with Malay foods. That's how it is in Malaysia, face the fact: Chinese prefers Chinese foods, Malay prefers Malay foods, and Indian prefers Indian foods. If you want to call out Mike or Rick as being 'racist', tengok balik kalau korang makan kat luar, kedai mana korang lagi suka. Cermin diri dulu. Besides, Malaysian Chinese foods are unique to Malaysia. It's just as Malaysian as rendang and nasi lemak.
My country is such a heaven place for food. Wish you go to Ramadan Bazaar, where people sell food especially for fasting muslim people. All people will buy food even non muslim since there was soo many variety of food
hahaha.. correction.. is called Klang Bak Kut Teh.. not glen or something... Klang or Kelang, officially Royal Town of Klang (Malay: Bandar Diraja Klang), is a royal town and former capital of the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is located within the Klang District. It was the civil capital of Selangor in an earlier era prior to the emergence of Kuala Lumpur and the current capital, Shah Alam. Port Klang, which is located in the Klang District, is the 13th busiest transshipment port[2] and the 16th busiest container port in the world.
Dear people of internet, this video only shows a small part of MALAYSIA FOOD. EACH STATE HAS ITS OWN SPECIAL FOOD THAT WILL BLOWN YOUR MIND AWAY. ps: malaysian here
BKT (Bak Kut Teh) is famous in Klang, not Glen.
I know the restaurant owner’s English pronunciation wasn’t that good; just correcting it for the people watching that wish to go to his place, or one of the many BKT restaurants in the Klang area :)
Klang town in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. 🙌🙏
Actually it was his accent. He make it sounded Kleng instead of Klang like the way malay pronounce it.
Mike should have let a malaysian to check the video he edited before posting it on youtube.
I thought he was talking about Glenmarie at first. Then i figured out if its BKT then it shouldn't be Glenmarie. It should be Klang. 😂
yeap ! i was like he's not bringing him to the original (most probably the founder) BKT at klang ? wtf ?! XD
I love how honest this guy is he don't roll his eye's and fall out of his chair acting like it's the best thing he ever put in his mouth like other youtubers out there! I can trust his reactions are authentic! Love his videos!

Don't hate guys
Rick needs to start a travel agency specialising in food tours cause all the places he's bringing you are AMAZINGGGGG
Jornad S.V. unless you have you have to stand in a cue and some chinese (not all!) People are approaching XD

MONSTER JUICED GANGSTER hasn’t he always been the only host? Or are you referring to him having dan and yi on sometimes?
armandoc dan used to be his permanent co host

Theresa Ferries Tea and rambutan? That’s an interesting pair!
Sarah Zaifullizan the rambutans were better than the tea. The tea was made I believe of roses, and it wasn’t a flavor I appreciated.
Hi Mike, another Malaysian here. I've been to 3 of the places mentioned in this episode and I must say that your review of those places are spot on

Yup, just had a bowl of ice cream
Thanks for making this video. Miss the food and the culture that you are showcasing.
My local Chinese take-away in a small uninteresting English town pales into insignificance compared to the food you are enjoying my friend!
The takeaways seem to be getting worse too!
Those aren't genuine Chinese food.
Bud those are boot leg chinese food
Alaways good to see an owner not afraid of cameras and is proud of his establishment.
Hope you also got Nasi Campur and visited a Mamak during your time here MIke :). Keep it up!
I love ALL of your vids but I have to say that that 'floss' looks absolutely amazing with those prawns!
Kam heong truly malaysia. Chinese Indian malay in one

Tried some of these restaurants before and indeed its awesome food!!
I'm so glad you had chilli pan mee because it is honestly the hidden gem in Malaysian cuisine! Can't wait to see your Ipoh and Penang adventures! There's definitely even more delicious food there.
I'm enjoying your side kick in these. He's quite cute with his sense of humor!
As a malaysian myself i watch the videos here to know which stall is good
the guide surely knows how to eat!
I realized that mikey is my spirit animal. I mix anything to my food to make it taste better! I dont mind eating breakfast food at dinner or lunch food at lunch. And i love anything garlicky, savoury, spicy and i dip everything in vinegar! hahaha Food explorer fo sho!

Ken Tan Good and valid explanation
Technically you can call any salads Rojak too...
Does this guy have any other job other than eating food? Ultimate dream job ever
Big Fan live in the US DC I like to eat as well. I would love to travel with my son to eat New foods. Keep the videos coming👏👏👏👏👏
It is Ramadhan, i am fasting, and also I am toturing myself by watching your video. I'm hungry and i should wait until maghrib.
Sweet nod to The Lord of the Rings, 4th lunch. Loved it. And yes chili makes everything tastier. Great video.

Anj Yeah, why not the Malays too? ....and the Indians, the Orang Aslis, Sabah and Sarawak too, amirite?
he already tried nasi lemak last clip
He tried in last clip.
Yung Biz yeah but at least try the popular Indian and Malay food also la
Eh, he did try nasi lemak while in Malaysia. Just look for his earlier video.
what you ate, is just the tip of the iceberg...hope to see you again soon in malaysia, take care and stay safe mikey.
Zyeahhhhhhhhhhhhh ur going to Pinang yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh pls remember to go to air itam at Pinang its a very crowded pasar (morning market) it’s has great laksa

It's not Glen, it's Klang hahaha, I see the lost in translation @Strictly Dumpling
Aqfan James that guy is saying it good
I always make sure I’m eating while watching your videos. Safe travels!
Speaking as a Malaysian of Chinese descent, it is nice that Chinese food is covered but I am disappointed that Malay and Indian food were not explored in Kuala Lumpur. Your channel is amongst my very top favourites to watch, I look forward to your uploads. Fantastic video as always.
That egg floss tho....I want to experiment, but do I risk burning down my house?
daraxiong19 you don’t have too! It’s pretty easy you just have to have a woknof hot oil and pour the egg from up high 🤙🏼
daraxiong19 Oh wait I commented before getting to that part of the video. But as you can see, it’s pretty easy 😉
Sarah Zaifullizan I'll try it outside on my gas burner, my stove inside is electrical and my wok doesn't work that well on it.
The king is back with another great video 🤗
it's Klang not Glen
That chilli pan mee. I been craving it for months when I first watched this video. Finally getting to visit KL for the first time in nov! 😍😃
Foooooood!!!
seriously great video. Love the inspiring music as well. Love you mikey chan.
I wish I could do what you do!! So jealous man!
Honestly i was expecting mike to try out malay cuisine too but yeah ☺
Nur Shazwani Razali Mike is secretly racist
I know right. How do you go to Malaysia and only eat Chinese food LOOOOL.
i guess it depends on the people who are taking him around :) you take people to what you're most familiar with i think.
carolyong So basically, the escort is the racist one. Not suprising, tbh.
You friend is awesome. I like his positive attitude.
I just had supper. Why?!
Supper part 2!
Love to see Mike enjoying a cuisine with camera girl and considering her opinions along with yourself.🤗🤗🤗
My country is such a heaven place for food. Wish you go to Ramadan Bazaar, where people sell food especially for fasting muslim people. All people will buy food even non muslim since there was soo many variety of food
i think he filmed this a few months ago, before ramadan :)
There's a lot of types of rojak in singapore! Each of the races here have their own types too!
Who's the guy that's been with him for the past few videos?
His new boyfriend
J V R u jealous of him ?
Vicky Barnwal not sure if asking who someone is means your jealous of them.
He was Mike's guide during the tour through Kuala Lumpur.
My friend. His name is Rick
Wow..Mike was brutal with some of these dishes. Thanks for the honesty.
I AM LOVING YOUR SUPERMAN T.SHIRT MIKE. ❤TWO UPLOADS IN ONE NIGHT! YOU'RE SPOILING US MIKE. 👍👍💓💓SO DELICIOUSLY INTERESTING 🌝🌝
