  • First night in Fukuoka, and I am starving. I went to a seafood restaurant where they have the fish takes right in front of you, and serve your food freshly caught.

To people who said if you don’t eat sushi, why come to Japan?
The fact that Japan is famous for its sushi doesn’t mean that sushi is the best food in Japan, they just do sushi better than anyone else in the world.
Japan is also famous for its convenience store foods, beef, fresh fruits, snacks, and fishs (in general not just sushi), etc.
Just because you know that one thing about a country, doesn’t mean that the only thing that country has to offer.

I think the no fishiness comes from the freshness of the fish. Any fish that is freshly killed (within the 1st 6-12hrs) got no fishy smell or taste to it. The moment it passed the 10th hour, it starts to set in. So my guess is all those tanks are there to keep the fish fresh

Ima Purnomo That's why I love seafood because fish from the ocean don't have that fishy smell or taste unless you freeze it.

Justin i live in the tropics of Indonesia. Our fish comes fresh off the warm sea or indian ocean w/ no fishy taste or smell even after it came out of my freezer. It just have to get cleaned & filleted w/in the 1st 6 hrs out of the sea. I used to go fishing out at sea before i have kids. That’s how i know.

um mike you do know that if a fish tastes fishy it's NOT fresh right ... if it smells fishy it's not worth eating either as it's almost gone completely bad

0623kaboom A fishy smell doesn’t mean it’s gone bad but it definitely means it isn’t fresh

Actually fish aren’t suppose to have the fishy taste/smell at first but it rather comes from a chemical reaction that happens after the fish dies

Such a pity you don’t enjoy raw fish. That’s like the best thing in the world. No joke. I can eat it everyday if I can afford it lol. Would love to see you do a video on sushi/sashimi.

Toby Brown he's Chinese so he might be under the influence a bit. Chinese people don't eat raw food.

@@fractionpassion that sounds like the most reasonable reason. His foody lifestyle is also sincehe grew up in a Chinese household, can stomach more food. 30% of the stuff he eats i probably couldn't handle.
