There is also a gorgeous limited edition version of the SSR / SSP that has a color scheme similar to the Starfields called Stardust. Probably more of a collector's item than anything else considering how laughably easy the paint chips from the Starfields unless the paint quality got improved.
Yes, I think I saw that. It was only available on Taobao if I remember correctly. Not sure about the paint job - the navy blue on my SSP is rock solid after plenty of rough handling.
Watching this review, I ordered these instead of the Aria's. My main reason is comfort. I have quite sensitive ears, so I'd rather take something possibly more comfortable than something that sounds better. These seem sufficient in the sound department, especially when equalizers are a thing. Just for reference, I cannot wear on-ears for long, earbuds though long ago were painful, and I wanted something small / portable to take with me more easily.
While that may be true for most people, my inner ears are quite small and chances are that the aria would be too large. Besides I have set a good eq profile from autoeq which I use almost all of the time. With this profile I doubt the aria would be much better sound wise.I am at least perfectly happy how it sounds, compared to my hd6xx with eq
after watching shit ton of ssp and ssr videos i have decided to go with ssr in green i really like the sound signature of ssr from what i have seen so far in reviews
Good review as always, thanks! I agree with you, those shells look great. If you have tried the Blon bl-01, how these SSP compare to the bl-01? Since the SSP are double the price of the bl01, I wonder if the difference in sound is that noticeable.
hi im fairly new to the iem market, which do you think between the ssr, ssp and the tanchjim ola are best for gaming utilitizing the directional positioning?
I just ordered the SSP, I have the SSR.. looove them...but I expect something different from SSP also different library... Just wonder if I like them as you do... or...we'll see Thank you ✌️♥️
sorry about the necro-comment (i guess) would you recommend this or the kinera bd005 pro for ~50 USD personally i listen to a lot of hip hop but also a fair bit of funk instrumentals
How are moondrop SSP compared to the Kz zsx at the same price? And , since moondrop SSP are more difficult to drive, do they play worse than other headphones if used from mobile?
Zsx has a brighter tone and more clarity. Ssp has a more mature slightly darker sound with less treble energy. Ssp is not ideal for use with a mobile because it loves power.
@@PrimeAudioReviews But if, for example, i put the volume on the phone to the max, are the ssp good or they aren't listenable? (my mainly use is with pc or an amp but i would like to use with phone too)

First of all, just chill! Pull the connectors straight up when you want to detach the cable. Now, in order to fix the existing cable, just gently straighten the pins again on a tabletop or something like that.
@@PrimeAudioReviews Ahahahah i was so much in a panic that i just placed an order on some generic 2 pin cables, I'll try to straighten them, thanks for the tip!
Similar on both although I'd say the DQ6 has more control. Pretty close in the mids too but DQ6 has more treble energy which gives it added midrange clarity. SSP is more laid back and smoother/darker.
Should be OK but you won't have a lot of headroom. By the way, if you're looking for some sparkling treble, this is not the iem that will give you that
Heart mirror is leaner, colder with a bigger soundstage and less bass. SSP is denser, warmer and much harder to drive. Both amazing for the price but just depends on what kind of sound you're looking for.
Bro, you either need to get better eartips (if you're not getting a tight seal) or u just gotta buy something else. What is it that you don't like about SSP?

Found the SSP to be more fun sounding with a funky bass response as compared to the SSR. Also loved the beautiful Blue gold finish on the pair
Exactly! I love that color too. 😘

I've had so many questions re the BL01, I'm starting to regret turning it down. I might have to get my hands on one.
really enjoy your review, one thing i want to ask.
which one will you choose between ssp and tin t2?
They are both nice but I would go with the Tin T2. It has a slightly better sound, although I prefer the shape of the SSP!

Ssp has a very relaxed treble compared to ssr. It's still a good IEM but you might find it a bit dark in comparison.
It all comes down to is it enjoyable and clever...or not The truth is I really enjoy Moondrop sound very much Thanks ✌️💯🔆😎
What would you choose between cca c12, kbear lark, and moondrop ssp? Im having a hard time choosing between the 3.
I would choose SSP unless you're a treble head. If you like a brighter/forward treble go for the Lark.

I still prefer the Starfield for sound but I really love the SSP shells!

It's on the way too!
Just to ask, I hope you answer, If you replace its cable with mic, would the mic be working? I just bought one.
Thanks!
Yes, it will work just fine.
When listening to music which is better? The SSR or the SSP?
SSR if you don't mind brighter signature. SSP if you're sensitive to treble.
The svelte design reminds me of the brand new Smabat X1 which I'm considering getting. Any thoughts on the X1's?
The X1 looks very interesting. Composite dual unit driver and tuning switches. I might try it.
do you prefer the ssp or ssr? and why
I prefer SSP. SSR is the better iem technically but I prefer something warmer for a daily driver.
@@PrimeAudioReviews Thank you! I'll definitely take note of that.
Hi for gaming(fps like apex) and accuracy which would be better, SSR/SSS?
SSR. But you should also consider the Moondrop Chu: a sweeter overall sound with pretty much the same detail.

Tin T2.

Very hard to drive these things. Didn't like it particularly. Even with a DAC they don't sound loud enough. Money not well spent.
