@@zpolt I never heard of it. Is it mid-range? Maybe your review will be helpful because I'll be buying some budget IEMs soon. Edit: Nevermind, I'm too poor to buy these.
My first pair of IEMs, just bought a week ago for my FIIO M11. I’m not a certified audiophile, jus a casual listener as of this writing . This pair is great for its price - comfort and sound quality, IMY. Hoping you can review Koss KPH30iCL😊 That pair is on my current wishlist, most especially the transparent or “prison-issue” variant. Great content, keep it up!
SSP has a bit of a driveability issue, smartphone's aren't enough to run it so you'll need a seperate DAC or a different player to get the most out of it.
it's not easy to drive, it sounds very dull and weak when used with regular smartphone jacks, most of my iem plays well with my phone, I don't even need to reach 75% volume to drive my other iems, SPP is different, the impedence is low, but it requires more power to get the most out of it, i bought some cheap USB C DAC dongle with Realtek 5686 dac chip inside, the sound was night and day. Volume sounds more satisfying, soundstage, imaging, and separation improved. Every track in my library sounded new to my ears 🎉.
Yea when I first use SSP, it sounds very slow and dull. I maxed out volume on my phone but it's still sound very slow. So the solution is buying a dongle like yours?
@@sychhanz1564 imo yes, if you can't afford to buy a DAP, just get some cheap dongle dacs from jcally or other brand you prefer, just do some research before buying though
Would you suggest the moondrop SSP or the SSR? I am a beginner audiophile and for me, instrument clarity and seperation along with vocals is important to me (mostly just mids, lower end isnt that important to me and top end should be clear too) (i also play games like warframe so soundstage is slightly important), so should I get the SSR or the SSP?
Nice review. I won't disagree with your findings although in my particular case I was somewhat underwhelmed by the SSP performance.....yes mids are great....highs are enough most of the time ....but the bass was very thin....it has quality but lacks quantity....again my findings. In the graph comparing it with the Bl03 one would assume that bass is similar but reality dictates otherwise ....the Blon is a V8 muscle car , the SSP a good naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. Thank you again for the great content!
I don't know why you say it's easy to drive, I have the SSR and starfield, it says on the box 16 ohm, but the starfield (32 ohm) takes less to run at the same volume, check it, really.
I mentioned the 'easy to drive' before I listened to the SSP, in the unboxing part. Interesting if the it takes more power to drive than stated. Might have a second look.
Watching your review while wearing one! My first impression after using E1000 for a loooong time is that this sounds meh but definitely not bad(well coming from a warmth to a v shape). But the more i use it the more i feel it. Definitely needs time to burn/break in the pair to make you love it!
Is this worth the upgrade from KZ ZSN Pro X? What accessories would you suggest I get with it? Kind of want to try a different sound signature than V Shaped ones.
Coming from zsn pro x. You might want the tripowin tc01, tfz t2 or cca c12. The moondrop sig is far from kz type of sound. But if you really want a new sig, this or ssr can work. But as ive mentioned in review, if your used to V type of sound, this might sound too relaxed for you. Takes time getting used to. But thats up to you ofc.
@@zpolt i still can't believe you replied. thank you, zpolt. i started with my zs3 because of you, unto zsn pro x because of you too, now, it is still you that is heralding the next upgrade for me. i look forward to your content for many more years to come, zpolt. thank you for always being considerate of the beginners to the hobby!
Hey i just bought these headset, compared to my old Sony MDR-XB75AP an bass focus earphones, the Moondrop ssp doesn't sound as loud or dynamic as the Sony's, kinda sounds underwhelming, is this normal or did i get a defective model? Edit: I'm using my laptop to drive them.
dude, if i wanna produce hip hop music (mix, mastering, beat making etc), and use iem to play a guitar (i play metal genre with high gain distortion), which will suits me? ssr or ssp.. or do you have any other recommendation?
Hey zpolt, aren't you afraid of the TC-01, since they have components made of Plutonium, which is radioactive? And doesn't that affect the importation process? Would be funny if you could measure the radioactivity they emit
It isn't actually Plutonium, the confusion comes because on their material they use Pu when talking about the material and that is the chemical symbol of Plutonium. However, Pu also happens to be an abbreviation for polyurethane which is what it's actually made of.
Blon will be more bassy, impactful. Sig wont be that far though, SSR will be more diff than your blon over SSP. For me, id go with a v or multi ba to complement your blon tough. C12, or BA5.
For 2k range it will still be a sidegrade in the grand scheme of things imho, but id reco getting dynamic driver iem to complement your ba iem. Check my top 5s and choose from there what fits you.
I think no. This is for more advanced audiophile I guess. Like people who have more money to spend to expensive stuffs like AMPs, DAP, DACs and what not
the blon3 is so horrible to me way to bright to the point its uncomfortable .im in the minority most everyone i knhow loves blon3 i hate them ..so bright harsh maybe im a basshead but i want to hear the highs and mids just not overbearing .moondrops need more bass but better than blon3 i need to try tco1 maybe its better for me thanks for review

Hi, would you help me by giving your thoughts? I'm trying to decide between this and cca c12. Thank you.
*2 questions:*
> How does this compare to the ZS10 Pro and CCA C12?
> Is the fit-isolation-soundstage-imaging any better or worse?
