Grant - couple things that might help, 1- Otter Box your phone! Ran a tree farm for years, only thing that would allow me to keep a phone longer than a month! 2-Pop the clutch in 2nd, not 1st. Not as hard on that tiny tranny, but easier on the plate & will usually kick it over.

    Hi Laura et al,
I've hesitated to write this, but as there is no other way to communicate my thanks, this is it.
Over the past 2 years, I have lost my mobility because of medical issues. I work all day, sitting in a chair, trying to take care of my family, and can't seem to fight off becoming more and more depressed. The only reason I say this is because I wanted you to understand how much I appreciate your cheerful personality. Playing your videos cheers me up. they make me feel like perhaps I shouldn't give up completely. Your work ethic is inspiring, your positive outlook is infectious, and both you and grant seem like "Salt of the earth" type people. Thanks for sharing your experiences online. They are much appreciated. and really make us all feel great.

Not sure how your video crossed my path but wow folks.
I swear if I could reboot America, I would ask for your permission to make you two the new faces and role models of America. Especially to the younger generations.
You 2 are proof the Merican dream is still alive and it looks like you guys are in the process of living yours and that is fantastic to see.
Thanks for your contribution to the country and for giving the world a peek into the life of real hard working Americans and showing them dreams are still real and reachable if you just try and just work.
May GOD bless you and watch over you 2 and your family now and for all of the days of your life.
Keep up the fantastic work and videos you are doing.
And Grant, try the Otter Box. In your case, the military model.

So generally when you have an intermittent starter problem and the battery is good (always the first place to look) it's commonly a carbon burned spot on the copper ring in the starter solenoid and not the starter itself. When you put the ignition key to start, it energizes the solenoid and creates the magnetic field that drives it forward to make contact. Particularly on an older vehicle like Grant's Geo, that's had thousands of starts, that contact can arc a little bit in the process of making the connection. If that carbon from the arcing process builds up enough, every time the solenoid stops in that spot, it might not be able to make contact. If you have time for a project, you can pull the starter and then take the little solenoid unit apart on the top of the starter and sand the carbon burned spots off the copper ring and the contacts.

Laura, some helpful hints: 1. Whenever you see an electrical switch pictogram symbol, the "O" means "open circuit" or "Off", the "l" means "closed circuit" or "On". Yes, that switch was left on! 2. those tires on the combine look low on air pressure from the cold, add air before they go flat and unbead! 3. ALWAYS blur out your license plate numbers of all of your vehicles from your videos to protect your safety and privacy! There are too many nuts out there and you need to keep that info from them! Stay safe!

I have a SPIGEN brand cover for my mobile phone, and an after market ZAGG blue filter glass over the front. When the phone fell out of my pocket while laying up cinder blocks, the front filter glass was cracked and gouged, but the actual screen was fine. I just peeled off the cracked glass and stuck on a new one, I always keep a spare on hand so the phone “doesn’t go out without it. The SPIGEN back is rigid plastic about 1/16” thick, the edge wrap has shock absorbing air space in the corners to prevent damage if it lands on the corners. The cover is much less slippery and easier to hang onto.

As I am sure you already know, Otter makes great, rugged, phone cases. iPhone 8.5 came with an Otterbox case. My old phone had the heavy duty Otter case. I once drove off with my phone left on the roof of the car, just above the drivers window. I just happened to be checking my side mirror when I saw it hit the road going about 30 mph. Stopped, walked back, picked it up, not a scratch on it. After that, I was sold. the heavy duty case is almost twice as thick as the Otterbox. Your case doesn't looks too hefty, hefty, hefty, but more wimpy, wimpy, wimpy. 😂😂 Maybe the next case you buy, you won't have to ask yourself, "Where's the beef" Later guys!!
PS: In case you didn't, Kinetic Energy Ropes should not be used, with kinetic force, to pull vehicles out the mud. Often when vehicles are stuck in the mud, when the tires sink into the mud, a vacuum is created between the tire and ground, locking the tire in place. Once you release the vacuum between tires and ground, most vehicles can be pulled from mud pretty easily. You can use kinetic ropes to gently pull vehicles for the mud on the vacuum is released.
    Ok, later guys. Have fun!!

Pulling something like that out of the junkyard and bringing it back to life is really cool! I recently put a little Toyota back together that probably should have been scrapped and sold it at a low price to a friend of a friend who recently recovered from cancer and then rehab for pain med addiction and lost everything. She's doing great now and is getting her life back together. Another old man piece of advice. If you are going to be working on big rusty equipment, get a high quality breaker bar. It is like a big ratchet, but without the ratcheting mechanism. A swivel head is great for getting into tight places. It might seem pricey at first, but it will save you from replacing ratchets every time you break or bend one :)
Another thought, since Laura is setting up her own tool box, it might be a good idea to set up one box for 'shop tools' and one box for 'field tools.' Fill the 'shop box' with the best tools you can afford, they will last a lifetime and you will enjoy using them every time you pick them up. Fill the 'field box' with the cheapest harbor freight stuff you can find. I often misplace the field stuff before it gets a chance to break.

You two need an airboat now that you've gotten rid of the military truck. After all, you live right by a great airboating river. I boat the plat river and occasionally go out to Columbus.

Grant, farming can't be any harder on phones than construction. I've had phones since the 90s and have only broken 2. One was in a severe accident. I have always had an armor type case on them. Like these guys are saying- otter box. There are also some excellent screen protectors out there.

I know y'all are super busy almost 24/7. Maybe more like 19/6.25???
Love the channel & I've learned so much! I'm always watching to see if you will say the word "pivot." Don't know why that makes me laugh; maybe because of the F*R*I*E*N*D*S reference. Anyway, did a small care package ever find you containing, among other things, a couple of rolls of FOREVER postage stamps?
    Happy days to you both!

You guys should get like 5 Deltran Battery Tender JRs. They are like $35 at Walmart. It’d be perfect for all that equipment sitting around for long periods of time - keeps your battery 100% charged. Makes the batteries last longer too. You don’t need anything more than the “junior.” I use it on my diesel truck which has a huge battery and it’s perfect - charges it to 100% then stops and goes in to a “monitoring” state. I’m not affiliated with Deltran - just recommending a good product I found. Oh, and don’t let your batteries sit on concrete - make sure they are sitting on wood.

Otter Box is the way to encase your phone. Having the case and holster keeps it always by your side.

OtterBox for your phone is the best protection. I dropped my phone twice off the top rolling ladder when I worked for Lowe's. Bounced at least two feet in the air and still worked like I never dropped it. They are expensive but worth it.
