They’re so many natural remedies you can do without any medication. I’ve seen several gastroenterologists and they didn’t help and just wanted to push all the drugs and/or remove my colon. Being disciplined and doing my own research has helped me tremendously to learn how to fix myself and stay into remission. Good luck to you 🙏

Im a UC patient for about 8 years now. The inflammation got worse and worse over years and i break down my personal experience and conclusion now.
    1. Weather and environment
Unfortunately the biggest punch in my face was the fact that many flare ups are caused by something i couldnt change.
Heavy and abrupt weather changes especially from cold to warm basically (Hot weather is my nemesis). Many chemicals we even dont know about in food and air.
    Too poor nutrientintake.
    Lack of physical activity.
    2. Psyche
Of course stress plays a role but not only that. The more negatively we think the worse it gets.
    3. Food
Well this is highly dependend on the individual.
For me the only radical diet that helps is carnivore some other people swear on veganism.
The worst i can eat is sugar and complex carbonhydrates.
    4. Medications
No medication given by those "highly trustful" doctors helped me actually. But if these flare ups going too bad one day i need to take usually cortison to keep it better under control.
(But the cortison alone dont do it for me)
Watch and listen your body and psyche closely!!!
Watch what you eat and it gets better.

Thanks for your insights. The weather does play a big role! My dad has psoriasis and usually flares during the winter, possibly due to lack of vitamin D? I also agree, the psyche and diet play a huge role also! That is why most of my energy these days go into ensuring I make good diatary decisions.

Hi Jake - thank you for your great work and time taken to explain more about the condition. It’s good to know that it’s possible to change meds if needed in order to reduce the side effects.
We have been told that people with UC are unable to join the army - our son was actually pleased to hear this! He stated that the UC may
save his life in this instance 😂 he was dreading the idea of conscription as threatened recently. God works in mysterious ways ❤😂

I wouldn’t be accepted in the army either! Not that I want to anyway 😅Conscription doesn’t sound fun, but the physical training and social camaraderie does sound like it would be great! I think seeking these things out in life is a great way to heal.

Have you tried carnivore diet? How long did you eat only meat for?

    • @jacobsIBD
      @jacobsIBD  3 місяці тому

I haven’t gone full carnivore, but I definitely eat a lot more animal products than I ever have. Feeling a lot more energized from it.

Unfortunately carnivor did not work for me. Bodies are not same. What might work for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for me or for you. You have to try and see what works for your body. I am free from Crohns now for 3 consecutive weeks.

@@zinebjalal1628 For how long have you been trying it? What was the fat to protein ratio? Trying it right now. So far struggling

@@ghost_of_a_dead_poet I eat about 50-60g of protein but a lot of cooked low fiber vegetables with little bit of olive oil. I tried red meat and I got sick , even fish or chicken breast I get sick when I eat it. That’s why you have to try and see what works for your body.

Carnivore is healing my microscopic colitis. My gastrointerologist is useless. Prayer and meat. No carbs or veggies. I refuse poison meds. 🎉🎉🎉
