@5.27 . Totally true --- Mumbai Suburbs is treated as 2nd class by Govt. But thr is a class much lower & ignored by Govt except when Elections approach *:* Thane - Navi Mumbai belt .
This area in most parts is a total mess *--* Infra, connectivity , amenities , well planned lay out .
Infact Thane despite being current CM's contituency has some of the worst roads & connectivity issues . Tho it has one of the best residential complexes -- Hiranandani Estate .

Easy access to long distance Railway Stations & to the Airport lacks . Schools & Colleges are about average. Top Hospitals are certainly not there in this area. Nor are there business hubs with sufficient job opportunities.

Im a Bangalorean and no city is better than Bangalore in india. Yes Bangalore has lots of issues especially traffic but it has so many positives that outweigh the negatives. Weather is the best in india (mumbai and delhi dont even come close), people are the most friendly in any big city, opportunities for tech entroreneurs, and for youngsters bangalore is the easiest to get alcohol. Maybe id put Pune close to what Bangalore is.
Bangalore was never meant to be this big. Mumbai, delhi, kolkata have been major cities for decades. Bangalore's growth explosion has been only in the last 20 years. So infrastructure compared to other big cities of course will not be the same. Maybe in another 10-20 years bangalore will also be like other big cities, wh8chnis sad.
I miss my old Bangalore. Relaxed life. But of course with development come issues. Both go hand in hand.

Bangalore was never meant to grow this big. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata were old cities which were large decades ago. Even till early 2000s bangalore was a small city compared to delhi or mumbai. Apartment culture is also very new here due to the explosive growth.
I miss my old Bangalore. Less traffic, lots of greenery and a relaxed life. But progress and development have their negative effects as well, be it any city in the world.

Having lived in Bengaluru for more than 10 years and currently living in Mumbai for more than 10 years, with breaks and gaps of a year or two and nit belonging to either cities, I can say few thing..
    1) South Mumbai is not even just 10% of Mumbai as most people know. So comparing SoBo and HSR layout is like Apples to Oranges. HSR is far more recent development, much more newer than Navi Mumbai or Thane.
    2) Most of new developments aren't yet getting Cauvery water supply.
    3) Most cities are spread circular, Mumbai is a North to South expansion making it easier to transport people and goods over the long distance from North to South, with Trains and highways. Try going from east to west or off highways in Mumbai, you will come to reality. Also, apart from the old Bombay, rest of Mumbai is far more messier.
I am just tired of people who blindly say thing have not lived longer in any cities they are comparing.
    4) Just to make it easier, 75% of Bengaluru areas are younger than Navi Mumbai, as a keen history buff and lover of all cities, hope people realize how fast Bengaluru has grown and relatively organized. Mumbai beyond Mumbai central is just a real estate developers created mess. It could've been an planned much better.

Karnataka would be booming with fortune 500 companies eager to hire those people who are also well versed in secularism, marxism, and appeasement. Every time anyone sees our beautiful Kolkata they see a hidden number 1 city. Trash and dirt everywhere it is such a impressionist dream as said by Kaushik Basu who is adored as a Economist who can turn anything into Gold.
