Sorin, do you know what surprises me every time? When something like this comes to me - I feel slightly anxious about how much I will have to spend to repair something like this, what I've learned from you is that the only limit is in our mind...if we concentrate and relax - everything is absolutely manageable... Thank you again.
That's a VERY important lesson most of us learned the hard way. Is not really about "trust in the costumer", is more about "certainty of the state" of the things you are dealing with. keep it up Sorin, you are the best teacher in youtube (at least that i've seen so far). cheers from Argentina
Lol sorin you made it vice versa by saying , "It happens when you try to replace the BATTERY while the SCREEN plugged in" 😂 0:42 But i got your point Sorin, God Bless you.
I used to think of the laptop as such a delicate and untouchable thing.. Now when I look at them I know what I am looking at for the most part and it has become less a mystery and more of a puzzle.. thanks Sorin
What about adding a fuse on the new connection? Maybe next time someone replaces the screen and "remembers to disconnect the battery", some magic smoke might escape :D
Why to an always "on" power line? This mean that the 14 v are always on screen circuit board... also when lid is closed... isn' it better to find a b+ that come to 0v when lid is closed?
The 3v power that turns on and off is probably connected to a transistor that acts as a valve to allow that 14v to power the screen when it's open. It's kind of like a car stereo, it always has 12v going to it, but it doesn't turn on until the ignition switch activates the accessory power.
yes it's gonna be fine it had another line from B+ to the screen but it wasn't too promising now it happens to have a new proper one that can handle the amperage that the screen needs
@@rezakianpour9668 For brightness not only PWM is important, but also voltage, not? There must be a reason LED-screen power supplies are 19V and not 12V, because having another supply makes the design more expensive. Does the screen have it's own step up converter, and if so, will that converter survive the input voltage change.
@electronic repair school I have a graphing multimeter that runs off of 2 D cells will the LCD screen have 19v also? It will not power up, I think, so I want to test the screen to see if it is still working but unsure of correct voltage to apply. 💚💖
hi, i have a LENOVO T440P i am using a 2.0 ah AC adapter for it and the battery is 99wh and the PC itself require 3.25a -5.5a. so i went for a 4.5a charger. which couldnot charge it for unknow reason. i get some error saying it can only charge when the pc in sleep mode. after i plug back my lower amp charger which was working it does not charge the battery again. the power button blink 3 times then go off. with only battery it work well. without battery and only on my old adapter it also work well. but when on battery and you plug in the AC adapter , the power button led just blink 3 times and it does not show on taskbar nor charge the battery. kindly help
But Sorin... this is a very simple Laptop and the mainboard is very easy to put out... wouln't it be better to put it out and check for fuses? Now if there is a problem on the screen again, you will have no fuse... i think this is not so good.
Hi Sorin, thanks for the alternative but what if the source is directly from the battery? then the backlight will stay on all the time and empty the battery, right?
Wrong! The backlight on/off or the brightness is controlled by the sio chip. Like i said, there its voltage all the time with or without the modification
Why would Dell i3 laptop powers on as soon as the DC cable is inserted, and when you shut it down, you cant turn it on with on off button, only bu disconnecting and connecting dc jack from power adapter? Also, fan blows full speed all the time? Any ideas?
Hello, how can i send you my laptop to fix it? Do you have a website or shop page? My laptop is asus rog gl753vd turns on and off immediately. It used to turn on after 20 attempts but now not coming on at all.
Sorry your camera went out at bad time to see end result where the wire went. I missed something maybe, what was the actual problem that was resolved - just a jumper to the screen connector as a qwik fix? Would like to see the actual fault/fix 🤓 Test the device in front of the customer when they drop it off so they can't say afterward "It wasn't like that when I dropped it off".
Just a jumper wire to prove a point, that the supply of Voltage was Missing on the screen. When connected to Voltage, screen worked fine. So Official repair can be done now.
I have a laptop which has exectry same problem but not 100% but when am using it like 1hour the screen goes off but still working in the background then at the same time to use it i have to connect the external monitor and same thing when i change a screen if some one got my point i need help
What if we only have backlight with charger connected? I have a asus x555l that shuts down the backlight when I disconnect the charger. The battery voltage is 8v but without battery I have 12v at the charging circuit. I used a power supply to inject 12v with the battery connected and the screen backlight started working. 12*3.5A = 38W, that's too high for such a screen. These screens are LED, just imagine staring at a working 40W LED light bulb, that's like a 400W conventional bulb, your eyes would burn ....
It's nice to see you happy and relaxed again

The return of Sorin : The Master!
0:40 tare inversiunea :) spor la traba!
Master is back, thank you for all your videos!
it's really really worth watching your videos Sorin 'cause it makes us feel good. Let's say it refreshes everything around us! :)
We should get more Sorin joking around and showing more his personality
The main power rail (after battery or adapter) is called B+...easy to remember :D
شكرا على هذا الشرح نتمنى لك السلامة
Thank you for this explanation. We wish you safety
As Dr House said "Patients always lie" so Sorin has his own rule "Customers always lie" :D
This is the truth even if you fix for your friends.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
👍👍👍👍
Another great video Sorin. Diana not back yet?
Respect my friend. Blessings from Belgium 🙏
Fascinating Sorin - great thinking and an insightful lesson here.
Thx god you're realy back, I can't work at shop if I can hear you're voice on background :)

you said it well sorin... very nice work. greeting you nice day ... from philippines
Welcome back Sorin!
Nice conversation sir
amazing video.thenks for lesson professor.
Is it possible to use brutal force (Current injection) to find a short in main board for TV?
If no check you will have, 'it was OK before I brought to you'
Thank you for this video Sir. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for providing your valuable information.

Hi Sorin Thank You for your next Video
you are still the best ........ thanks
This 12v line is Always on. The backlight also stay on all the time even when the computer is on sleep.
Hi and thanks a lot for another good video
Good job
Great video again thanks
Hahaha such a fun work place. Love u guys
Did wire directly connected to the pins?
Is the screen still as bright as before? Are you still able to adjust the brightness?
yes it's gonna be fine it had another line from B+ to the screen but it wasn't too promising now it happens to have a new proper one that can handle the amperage that the screen needs
and about the brightness it also is going to be fine since he didn't play with the LEDEN an LEDPWM signals

what is written on the battery?
Already asked 2 days ago. No one answered. The battery is rated 7,5v

You call those wires, but all I see are oficial brand proper very long fuses.
Fuse==wire
At work we have replaced 1000s of screens and only killed 1 or 2 back lights lol
