These 7 Myths About Heart Disease are pervasive. This video explains each of the myths and reveals what the truth is behind each myth. It’s important to have the facts so you can make good choices about your health and be better informed.
Heart disease is the #1 killer of both men and women in the United States. As an example, the symptoms women experience while having a heart attack are often different from what men experience. Awareness of this can be life-saving.
Heart disease is often silent and may not have any clear symptoms that a person will experience.
Awareness of these myths, what the realities are, and the need for regular testing and checkups are some of the keys to staying healthy and regaining health as needed.
In the case of people who either have or are vulnerable to prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, type 1 diabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance, or metabolic syndrome, it’s of critical importance to understand heart disease.
The potential interaction between heart disease and any of the inflammation-driven diseases like prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, type 1 diabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance, or metabolic syndrome, leaves a person more vulnerable to a bad outcome with their health.
    Knowledge is power.

Dr Yates should we have our heart checked if we are not having any symptoms if you are over 60? Thank you for all that you do

Yes, I think everyone should have their heart checked even if no symptoms so you establish a baseline for what is normal for yourself, before things go wrong. As we age, things can change; it's good to stay on top of it.
