I wish everyone could understand what you said about fruit juice. Children are given fruit juice daily like it's a health food, but they should be given the whole fruit instead. If you are giving kids just fruit juice, not the whole fruit, it's exactly like giving them soda pop or even just sugar water. There is a reason why small children are getting type 2 diabetes, when it used to be older adults only. Thank you for educating people.♥
The Dr is talking about a real fruit vs a real fruit juice, no mother makes fresh juice from fruits ever. What you call fruit juice is worse than any soda, it's only water, paint and sugar, lots of sugar.
When do you test your sugar, right after you eat the food or 2 hrs later. I want to find out how much of a spike I have when I eat a slice of Ezekial bread? Also just subscribed, thank you very clear and precise info. I am reversing my type 2 with diet and exercise. this has been helpful.
You're welcome & thank you for subscribing. I'm glad you're focused on reversing your type 2. It's good to test blood sugar just before you eat, then 1 hour and 2 hours after so you see how your body responds to what you ate. Some people have healthy responses to Ezekiel bread and for others it causes a blood sugar spike. People definitely have bio-individual responses to foods; it is not the same for everyone.
Be careful of drinking fruit juice if you want to enjoy good blood sugar control. If you juice fruits yourself, include the fruit's skin ( apples, peaches, etc.) and keep the pulp. Test your blood sugar to see how you react. It might be OK to have a small amount, like 3 - 4 ounces at a time. The safest option is to avoid drinking fruit juice and instead to eat whole pieces of fruit so you get as much fiber as possible. Juice usually strips away the fiber found in fruit. Fiber is a blood sugar sponge; you want the fiber intact in the fruit.
Great video. I just came across your channel and I'm very curious to know your opinion on the carnivore diet. I'm an African American Male and a type 2 diabetic with neuropathy and I'm very confused about the best diet for me. I already know about the high carbs like potatoes but I would like more info.
For more info please subscribe and continue to follow this channel. I continue to upload content that is helpful for diabetes, blood sugar and better health. I think the carnivore diet is too extreme in the longer term. Human health usually thrives by including 4 main categories of macro-nutrients: protein, fiber (esp. leafy green vegetables), healthy fats, and slow-burning, complex carbohydrates and resistant starch. The carnivore diet does not nourish the gut's microbiome, which can impact other areas of health. For diabetes, it's important to avoid simple carbs like sugar, flour from grains, refined grains, and carefully watch your blood sugar response to starches like potatoes, wheat, rice and other grains. With neuropathy, please take great care of yourself. Neuropathy can be tough to improve. You want to avoid further damage as much as possible. Thanks for your comment and I wish you success in improving your health.
Tea made from hibiscus flowers is fine. Any added sugar at all is not good. When you say "juice" here I am thinking there is added sugar, which is never helpful for achieving and sustaining healthy blood sugar levels.
It depends on how your blood sugar responds. In general, fried foods are not good for anyone, including people who have diabetes. If you choose to eat them, check your blood sugar and pay attention to what it tells you.
Hi. I cannot diagnose you in this format. Please seek help from your doctor and health professionals where you live so they can do the appropriate testing and answer your question accurately.
Nothing wrong with some salt & saturated fat. Saturated fat satiates, so you don’t over eat. Also not bad for heart health, despite being told this for about 80 years. 25:25
LOL No. I am saying pay attention to how your body responds to foods - test, don't guess, and focus on eating what produces healthy blood sugar levels. That is the goal.
@@DrBeverlyYates What guidance are you giving for the most misunderstood food of all....animal products? Dairy Products - Should we worry about hormones? Is the sodium also too high in cheese and are products like plant based milks better for diabetes? Fried Chicken, Rotisserie Chicken or Backyard Chicken from your own homestead is what Diabetics also need guidance on, right? How about Beef? Ground vs. T-Bone, vs Rib eye; Grass fed vs. Factory Farm? Can you please teach so your followers can develop discernment in this way?

What of hibiscus flower juice ?
Tea made from hibiscus flowers is fine. Any added sugar at all is not good. When you say "juice" here I am thinking there is added sugar, which is never helpful for achieving and sustaining healthy blood sugar levels.
Dr what is the normal blood sugar?
Healthy blood sugar range is: fasting morning blood sugar in the range of 75 - 99; A1C of 5.6 or lower.
@@DrBeverlyYates Dr. my fasting morning has been in the 117 to 130 range and the monitor says it is in the normal range.. Do you think that is ok?
What about Ezekiel breads?
Ezekiel breads - test, don't guess, so you know your personal blood sugar levels' response to Ezekiel breads. People vary in how they respond to this.
Ok thank you!!@DrBeverlyYates
liked and subscribed to your channel just now
Many thanks!
Thank you Doctor ❤
