- The Orlando Magic reportedly agreed to a new contract with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. What does the veteran wing bring to Orlando? It is a little bit more than just a better version of what they had. But KCP will undoubtedly fit right in.
The Magic were also busy Monday, reportedly bringing back Goga Bitadze and Gary Harris. Yep, it feels like the Magic are running it back again as they set up their future beyond.

New casual speaking about Gary Harris but Gary Harris is the reason you were leading in the seven game against Cleveland because of his defense remember he was in foul trouble that's how Cleveland regained the lead when he went out the game when Pablo was tired and kept trying to bring the ball down the court he needed to give it to the guards
I liked the KCP addition, it looked promising, but it now looks like this is all we’ll be doing? We have not addressed the lack of playmaking, shot creation, rim protection and not enough the 3 point shooting. I am hoping a trade is looming, otherwise we are not much better than last year
I like it overall.. we are a better team and our depth gives us nice trade opportunities

I been a season ticket holder for 10 years. The team did great last year but a with a healthy Celtics, knicks, pacers, Sixers , bucks, heat and cavs we are in trouble if we don’t pick up a Real shooter and play maker

But I have my doubts on this being an offensive upgrade. Gary was far more productive in Denver too. Very possible Mosley can’t get him anymore than the 8 attempts he already gets and they won’t be as quality as the looks he got the with Jokic effect. It’s very easy to envision this starting backcourt failing to put up 20 points combined on most nights again.
Meanwhile their defense will be eye appealing but somehow Donovan Mitchell will still be able to get 50 on them if he really needs to. Plenty of star guards still got their 30 on Orlando this year.
Ultimately this could exasperate the problems with Mosley and cost you far more games than it wins. There’s no way he doesn’t close with a $22 million player.
So that means fewer games that Cole Anthony wins for you by bringing you back and closing the game (see Denver the last 2 years) and more games like the 118-114 loss in Milwaukee where Mosley pulls a +16 18 points 11 rebs 6 ast 2 stl 0 turnover Cole only to have Gary Harris foul Dame on back to back 3 pt attempts.
The beginning of the season Harris came off the bench and the results were the same

Everybody keeps saying he’s a great piece not saying he’s not a good player. KCP defense was a problem last year scoring was another creator that something he don’t add he can shoot again I’m just fan. Very frustrating
phil the magic must be paying u.... this team had 50 million and just added a slightly better gary harris only to resign gary no show harris. paolo specifically asked for a pg and jeff welt-ass completely ignored his request instead of listening to his star player. (paolo own words i want to be an offensive hub not a pg) this off season is a massive failure point blank.. it seems like jeff thinks he smarter than everybody by completely ignoring paolos request.. done with this show grow some and call out the front office instead of praising and overhyping their minor moves.. magic also had a 18-31 record against teams .500 and over and these moves welt-ass made did nothing for this team to improve that

This is a bit silly. But I see how you came to that. Here’s a few things to consider. The front office obviously thinks if we had kcp and Gary we beat the Cavs.
Kcp has a history of consistent clutch play on both sides of the ball in the playoffs
22 million for a starter is extremely cheap for a contender which we will be by next season
Kcp could easily go up to 15-17 points per game with the additional opportunities he’ll have in Orlando.

I like Gary as a backup wing. I think he's overhated. But bringing back the same 47-win team that lost in the 1st rd is complacency, pure and simple.

We had 50M in cap space for free agency, but aging George Paul and Klay Thompson were not the answers. KCP was. So, kudos to the front office for remaining disciplined. The Magic need Prime Shaq. We don't have enough physicality, and WCJ gives inconsistent effort. I love JI and Moe Wagner, and even Goga, but that's the weak spot. The key to the Magic's ceiling is the development of the young stars, Anthony Black, Jett Howard and Tristan Da Silva. Suggs has already developed, and this team is at least an 8th seed. Let's see where this goes.

I don't know what the move you wanted them to pursue was. Dejounte Murray? Is that the guy you wanted to spend the first round picks on? Team is still in a good place. They improved, just didn't make a clear leap through acquisitions.

They just won 47 games... But my concern is that things go stale with the same group. You need to mix things up occasionally to force players to grow. We are at that point one way or another (even though I think they start the year with this group).
