I was at this concert. This is 100% accurate as to how it sounded and looked. Amazing. They're awesome live! Du hast - You have (me)/you hate (me) it's a play on marriage/love.
Rammstein just sold over a million tickets in a few hours two days ago, after announcing their 2023 tour in Europe. That’s how big they are…. I hope you do more, they are fantastic both live and on the music videos. They lyrics are often deep and with double meaning and the music is great also, they sometimes call it dance metal I believe. But they also make amazing ballads
The Völkerball Concert video/album is one of my all-time favorite live performances and I think that's about where they peaked for me. Loved everything they put out in nineties/early 2000's.
Rammstein has to be seen live, because they are a weapon there and the incredible crowd control is a trademark of them and no matter in which country they play, the audience sings in German like in Paris .🆒 The action with the fireworks did not even take place in a stadium but in a hall ( Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy) and would be unthinkable in e.g. America due to their immense safety regulations. If they go on tour there, the fans will miss a lot and will never get to see many really wicked effects! By the way Til does this specific move, called "Til Hammer" cause he had dislocated his knee before a concert and repeatedly hit it in the backstage area to bring it back in. The other band members found this movement totally cool so that he he adopted it for the stage ! Apart from the fact that Til is a trained pyrotechnician, at Rammstein concerts a special stage worker is very close to the stage and is connected by a microphone to the person who controls the fire. He feels the temperature on his cheek and gives corresponding instructions whether you can still step it up a notch or the flames have to be reduced. Another pure madness with with the audience - ua-cam.com/video/fAaIFUXj4-8/v-deo.html At another concert Til greets his band members, who are carried back to the main stage in a rubber dinghy, with a "Welcome - Sign". A political statement for the refugees who have drowned by the thousands in the Mediterranean Sea. Please look at the live performance of "Ich will" - ua-cam.com/video/zO2t3KQMPPY/v-deo.html - (with subtitles) "Rock am Ring" is one of the biggest festival events in Germany. The Ring, which we say, is the legendary Formula 1 race track "Nürburgring"(The green hell), located in the middle of a central mountain of Germany, the "Volcano - Eifel". Rammstein was the Headliner and there are more than 85000 fans on the target line and I was right in the middle 😜 and not only the few thousand hardcore fans directly in front of the stage answer Til's questions, but actually the entire audience down to the last row and to have been there and to feel the concentrated energy of the audience was just indescribable ! At some point Rammstein discovered that you can make up with instant coffee. According to concentration, black to red spots appear, which looks like dirt or blood. Flake was hyper nervous all the time during an earlier tour. What did he forget ? That he was made up with lots of coffee in the evening during every concert - Maybe the reason why he needs a treadmill 😉? But without Flake Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more. It´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds almost like any metal band. Together with the typical Rammstein monster guitar riffs the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this, Rammstein sound so unique ! Please check it out - ua-cam.com/video/IjGNTqAW58E/v-deo.html - ua-cam.com/video/jRxW5Vzeo0A/v-deo.html (here you can see Til flying) Exactly this concert in Germany took place about 20 km from where I lived and you could still hear it over a hill in between and see the light show flickering in the distance. You could clearly experience the sound level at which Rammstein are traveling 💥🤯 This melodic sound together with the unbelieveble power that Rammstein brings over is also to be seen here - ua-cam.com/video/Uq41Fmw5CGI/v-deo.html ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, this performance was nominated for the Grammy 👍 - ua-cam.com/video/qFpjMNKxsnA/v-deo.html - The song is based on a true story that happened in Germany. A cannibale looked for someone on the Internet who could be eaten by him and also found someone. Just google "The Rothenburg Cannibal". TOTALY WACKY. Richard Kruspe tells the story in an interview on the DVD "In Amerika" released in 2015. First the police arrested Paul Landers off the stage and then one by one, the sound became thinner and thinner as the other band members were arrestet and at some point he put his guitar down and turned himself to the cops. For Rammstein, who had come together in the former GDR, the left dictatorial eastern part of divided Germany, America was in their imagination the "land of unlimited possibilities" in which you can do pretty much anything. After a night in jail they know that it was a really stupid idea to perform anything like that in a big city in the "Bible Belt" - ua-cam.com/video/pRXkDYTSAj4/v-deo.html - 😱😉 In Germany, this kind of thing doesn't upset (almost) anyone anymore - we're a little more relaxed there. One of the best titles by Rammstein but not as well known is Donaukinder" - ua-cam.com/video/Oi-ixUoWAOU/v-deo.html - it´s underpinned by Franzisco Navarro with scenes from the film "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". But be careful, because for those who have even dealt with the Holocaust a little, this is really hard stuff ! At first I was interested, then banned, then horrified and then there were only tears. As a German with a left-wing liberal background, I would have to hate the camp commandant, but otherwise he is also a father. However, someone who lets the children of others gasify without scruples. But something like this had to happen, I guess, so that he finally recognizes this absolutely inhuman madness and his constant self-deception ! "Wo sind die Kinder" - "Where are the children" alludes to the fact that in German death camps, women and children were gassed first so that no more Jews could grow up or be born. "Keiner weiß, was hier geschehen, keiner hat etwas gesehen" means "Nobody knows what happened here, nobody saw anything" refers to the fact that very few Germans wanted to have known about the concentration camps, which of course was complete nonsense. For example, thousands of apartments were suddenly vacant because the Jewish residents had been deported during the night. The very next day, "Aryan" Germans, mostly belonging to the party cadre, moved in. Then hundreds of civilian German guards were employed in the death camps, who were even proud of their "work" and bragged about it to their acquaintances and friends. I could give many more examples, which prove that it was total bullshit, when it was claimed not to have seen anything and not to know what was happening there. Rammstein pieces are pure energy and if one can keep his butt still while listening, you should see a doctor as soon as possible 🤣
One of the best Bands ever! The Concerts are powerful and unbeliveble! For your next reaction to Rammstein, look at - Deutschland - Zeit - Mein Herz Brennt (Booth Versions) - Ich will - Sonne (Live) and many more. ^^ The songs are amazing!
Nothing beats a rammstein show. Just saw them live on Friday, best show ive ever been too. Watch show clip from the tour. Saw them in boston. Someone recorded whole show and I’ve watched it almost 2 times already.
It's a word play. "Du hasst" means "You hate" but "Du hast" means "You have". When they add to it later they go into "Du hast mich gefragt" - You have asked me.
Their concerts are something else to experience, I was lucky enough to be in front enough to feel the heat from their pyrotechnics, whoof. Edit: Du Hast Mich translates to You Have Me.
I was at the show in San Antonio a few days ago, my second time seeing them. Rammstein is more than a concert, it’s an experience. The first time I saw them several years ago there was so much pyro I started looking for the emergency exits during the first song. Just in case. The show a few days ago didn’t have as much pyro but at one point the entire Alamo Dome was so filled with smoke you could only see a few rows ahead of you. I have a ton of video I wish I could post. Now as far as “is that blood”? or them looking dirty is because they are covered in fire retardant gel. If you saw one of their shows you would know why. Flame throwers, explosions, 40ft tall streams of flame, etc. The lead singer is very theatrical but the rest of the band doesn’t move around on stage very much. I’m guessing it’s too dangerous because of all the pyro. They have to be in a certain spot at a certain time to keep from getting torched. The lead singer is also a licensed pyro technician. Yes, there is a guy on a treadmill. He does that because he is the keyboardist and synth guy and mostly only needed to push a button now and then, didn’t have much to do, and didn’t want to just stand there.
Been to their show riight there in the Feuer Zone (Fire Zone) on July 5th this year and will be there again next year on July 7th. Check out their song "Mutter" (Mother) live in Paris. Note: Not everybody speaks German. But when Rammstein comes to town, everybody speaks Rammstein!
Best live band in these days by far. Kiss, Metallica, Iron Maiden and so on are all poor prescholars compared to Rammstein when it comes to liveshow, pyro, fire and special effects.
While Rammstein became more and more famous and at the same time expanded their show more and more, they were not yet headlining festivals. It didn't take long until even Slipknot said: Try everything not to have to perform after Rammstein! I guess that's all that needs to be said about it !
Deutschland MV is a must .. you should check them out in more depth… so many great tracks and videos … and live they are one of the best experiences there is.
@@JustinPanariello Well the lead singer was once a swimmer and was nearly at the Olympic game in 1980. An injury held him back. He was doing the license as a pyrotechnition after an accident happened back in 1996. Here is the link to it: ua-cam.com/video/CK1g7gwN-Ys/v-deo.html The band continued to play, that the rest of the audience did not get in panic and the vocalist went down and helped. At the end of the song he apologised and asked, if they are alright. The band was together in 1993 and officially founded in 1994 and have the same line up until today. All have known each other before this and were in several punk bands, most famous at this time was "Feeling B", where at the end three of the six members where in. The members are: Till Lindemann - vocalist and lyrics, turning 60 on 4th of January and oldest member, former drummer of the band "First Arsch" (short for Erste Autonome Randalierer Schwerins), wrote also poesy-books, has a side project called Lindemann. Richard Z. Kruspe - Lead guitarist, currently 55 (one of the bands he was in, "die Firma", and has the side project Emigrate. He also was fleeing from east Germany to West, here a short interview to it: ua-cam.com/video/9uBdY9xDYl8/v-deo.html Paul Landers - rhythm guitarist, currently 58, former member of "Feeling B" Oliver Riedel - bass guitar, currently 51 and the youngest and with 2m the tallest, former member of Inchtabokatables Dr. Christian "Flake" Lorenz, keyboard/synthesiser, currently 55 and former member of "Feeling B", also author of two books. Not really a Dr. but was interested in it. In the GDR you could only study medicine, when you were joining the army. And Christoph Schneider, drummer, currently 56 and former member of "Feeling B". The only one of the five, who joined the army, all other members could somehow "pass this part", although it was difficult, because in former GDR it was out of question. You had to do it. All 6 are from the former GDR (behind the wall/east Germany) For videos with English subtitle have a look at his channel ua-cam.com/users/educatedmarine, from where I give you one of their faster songs: ua-cam.com/video/Gb1oaOo9njw/v-deo.html or at this channel: ua-cam.com/video/G2-tUJ4rcUk/v-deo.html But maybe it is just not your cup of tea. Either way, thanks for the reaction. ❤
In case a non german speaker wonders about the text. Let me expand a bit on the interpretation and the meaning. There are three ways you could interpret "du hast mich" - du hast mich - you have me (like in a relationship) - du hasst mich - you hate me (this meaning is woven in as a word play) - du hast mich - gefragt - you have asked me further - du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt (you have asked me and I did not answer) The lyrics gyrate around the sentence, which is a formal wedding vow "willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet treue sein für alle Tage" - (will you - until death parts you - be eternally faithful). And also "willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen" (will you - until death parts you - love her also during bad days) This is the wedding vow, which he declines in the text with Nein (no), preceeded by a female voice saying preemptively Ja (yes). I think this song is a masterpiece regarding the word play, how it is layed out, and the stage show is amazing.
Rammstein has videos that Hollywood can wrap up (Deutschland, Zeit, etc ) and the whole thing is ad-free. They don't make money on youtube because they don't care
5:05 - Well... Du = you Du hast = you have Du hast mich = you have me Du hast mich gefragt = you have asked me (und ich habe nicht gesagt = and I have not replied)
To understand Rammstein, German language is very important! Especially for the Song "Deutschland" ;-) When you react to Deutschland, pls. dont scip the Outro. Look at the Details in this Video. Not only of the KZ Scene! Its much more than this! :-) The song describes the relationship between many people in germany to germany. The History of this country is the video., but the lyrics are the relationship. Its so deep and Till the poet used the right words. Greetz from Germany! ;-)
Okay, haven't seen this in the comments. Du hast mich means: You have me. However, Du hasst mich means: You hate me. It's a great play on words. Later it's apparent that Ramstein means You have me because they say, Du hast mich gefragt which means You have asked me. Shortly after that, they say Und ich hab (habe) nichts gesagt which means And I have said nothing. One could say that basically someone proposed and the other person remained silent.
Du hast means you have. It is also a play on words. With a little change DU hast turns into DU hasst which means you hate. So it's either you have me or you hate me. This song is about a man who doesn't want to commit to a woman. The woman says yes and the man answers no.
Rammstain have been playing for a very long time, but their level does not decrease. In recent years they have put a lot of money into official music videos (eg Deutschland = Germany - this is Hollywood level). Their live performances are an amazing show, but I prefer the official videos - it give the music and lyrics an extra (and often much deeper) meaning. Definitely react to Deutschland, Mein Herz brent (My heart is burning), Zeit (Time), Ich Will (I want), Radio, Amerika, Angst (Fear), Sonne (Sun), Ausländer (Stranger)... But the lyrics they are a must!! ("educatedmarine" has all Rammstein music videos with English translation on his UA-cam channel)
A little help: Du hast , the title . is meaning: you have... but in german slang you can mean, you hate..... after this, its the question, do you want to merry me for ever and the he said NO
Hi, thanks for reacting to my favourite band! Love it! Please go down that rabbit hole. You won't regret it ;) You could check out "Mein Herz brennt" official video and piano version or one of their newest videos "Zeit". They do masterpiece videos! Definitely check out "Educated Marine"'s videos here on youtube when you don't understand German. He has them with subtitles :)
he does not have any blood its oil protecting him from fire damage, he is expert when it comes to fire - tnt stuf.. so he have high rank to even have the permission to have fire on the stage.
I don't understand why everyone's first thought (besides the treadmill) is if it's blood on him. I have always thought it looks like engine grease or motor oil, but never blood
Allways, ALLWAYS! Everyone asks allways first: Treadmill?`?? Is that blood??? LOL Flake has said before that it gets boring just standing still whilst playing, do they gave him a treadmill for that exact purpose. Welcome to the community! By the way, Till Lindemann is a certified pyrotechnician. The dirty look or "blood", is because they are all covered fire resistant gel, and the powder residue sticks to them
Guy on the treadmill is known as "Flake", keyboardist. "Flake" gets easily bored during concerts. He walks on treadmill or tormented by lead singer, Til Lindemann. Til and other bandmates wears gel. "Gel" is flame retardant keeping them from being burn from the pyros.
Germans make superior luxury cars - Mercedes/BMW/Audi - and sports cars - Porsche - and superior metal/hard rock bands Rammstein, Scorpions, Helloween, Accept, Kreator, Grave Digger, Blind Guardian
If you are really interested to see more, I would suggest "Zeit", "Zick Zack" (funny) and "Deutschland" official videos and live "Sonne" and "Rammstein", for first
Just saw them in Philly! Greatest show on earth! Till's Father was a poet and his lyrics are written as poetry, dive into the lyrics they are freakin deep... or just sexual! lol Actual music videos are just as meager as the lyrics. Try Deutschland but do the research on the meaning behind everything, they are geniuses.

Du hast - You have (me)/you hate (me) it's a play on marriage/love.
It sucks seeing them live because after you see them they make every other band past and present suck 😂. Best experiance EVER to see Rammstein live!
Was the lightning really present or CGI for the video release? Thanks

This was a tour i wish i saw. They played madison square garden and I didn’t buy because i hate NY that much. Just saw them in boston though.
The had sold out the arena (Ulavi in Gothenburg) for 3 days when i saw them last year.
Nice...going to see Rammstein pretty soon...seeing them live for the third time. Might be the only Rush and Rammstein fan, ha ha
Just saw them in Chicago. It was the best live show I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing.
Just saw them in Minneapolis. Freakin' amazing!!
I went to the concert this past Saturday in San Antonio..
IT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME!
Great video. I saw them at MetLife Stadium on 9/6 and omg best concert I've ever been to.
saw the san antonio show a week after this. it ROCKED the EARTH. rammstein is the BEST live show for a heavy rock band.
The Völkerball Concert video/album is one of my all-time favorite live performances and I think that's about where they peaked for me. Loved everything they put out in nineties/early 2000's.

Deutschland MV is a must .. you should check them out in more depth… so many great tracks and videos … and live they are one of the best experiences there is.
Yes you don't dream we are on the same planéte !!!
You gotta watch Sonne,Engel live versions. This is easily one of the greatest bands.

Du hast du hast mich heißt der Text, Rammstein ist kult. Im From Germany.
DUDE!!!!
"Engel" is a MUST... Enjoy!
They also handle their own pyrotechnics
crazy
The members are:
Till Lindemann - vocalist and lyrics, turning 60 on 4th of January and oldest member, former drummer of the band "First Arsch" (short for Erste Autonome Randalierer Schwerins), wrote also poesy-books, has a side project called Lindemann.
Richard Z. Kruspe - Lead guitarist, currently 55 (one of the bands he was in, "die Firma", and has the side project Emigrate. He also was fleeing from east Germany to West, here a short interview to it: ua-cam.com/video/9uBdY9xDYl8/v-deo.html
Paul Landers - rhythm guitarist, currently 58, former member of "Feeling B"
Oliver Riedel - bass guitar, currently 51 and the youngest and with 2m the tallest, former member of Inchtabokatables
Dr. Christian "Flake" Lorenz, keyboard/synthesiser, currently 55 and former member of "Feeling B", also author of two books. Not really a Dr. but was interested in it. In the GDR you could only study medicine, when you were joining the army. And
Christoph Schneider, drummer, currently 56 and former member of "Feeling B". The only one of the five, who joined the army, all other members could somehow "pass this part", although it was difficult, because in former GDR it was out of question. You had to do it.
All 6 are from the former GDR (behind the wall/east Germany)
For videos with English subtitle have a look at his channel ua-cam.com/users/educatedmarine, from where I give you one of their faster songs: ua-cam.com/video/Gb1oaOo9njw/v-deo.html or at this channel: ua-cam.com/video/G2-tUJ4rcUk/v-deo.html
But maybe it is just not your cup of tea. Either way, thanks for the reaction. ❤
@@JustinPanariello Till Lindemann the singer is a professional pyrotechnican
The body and voice sh”t ya 😏😏❤️
There is a couple other Epic songs that don't remember the name of the top of my head that they do live performances and you have to watch them
In case a non german speaker wonders about the text.
Let me expand a bit on the interpretation and the meaning. There are three ways you could interpret "du hast mich"
- du hast mich - you have me (like in a relationship)
- du hasst mich - you hate me (this meaning is woven in as a word play)
- du hast mich - gefragt - you have asked me
further
- du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt (you have asked me and I did not answer)
The lyrics gyrate around the sentence, which is a formal wedding vow "willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet treue sein für alle Tage" - (will you - until death parts you - be eternally faithful).
I'm 37 and it was middle school for me lol
i think sonne live at download was one of there best live songs
Im just here for the "is he on a treadmill? "
5:05 - Well...
Du = you
Du hast = you have
Du hast mich = you have me
Du hast mich gefragt = you have asked me
(und ich habe nicht gesagt = and I have not replied)
Du hast mich means: you have me, but Du hasst (2 x s) mich means you hate me... both are sung in the song
To understand Rammstein, German language is very important!
Especially for the Song "Deutschland" ;-)
When you react to Deutschland, pls. dont scip the Outro. Look at the Details in this Video. Not only of the KZ Scene! Its much more than this! :-)
The song describes the relationship between many people in germany to germany.
Cool with Darth Sidious on the keyboard
Engel by Rammstein live performance
Check out Wintersun-Time next please.
Du hast means you have. It is also a play on words. With a little change DU hast turns into DU hasst which means you hate. So it's either you have me or you hate me. This song is about a man who doesn't want to commit to a woman. The woman says yes and the man answers no.
First thing everyone notices is Flake on the treadmill, and no it's not blood it's fire retardant gel
A real banger. Just this song must have cost 20K!
You have a lot to hear about Rammstein
Till has fire retardant on him not blood, he's also a pyrotechnics specialist
A little help: Du hast , the title . is meaning: you have... but in german slang you can mean, you hate..... after this, its the question, do you want to merry me for ever and the he said NO
There haven't been that many people loudly chanting in German in Paris for 75 years.
it means " du hast = you have" or "du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt = you asked me and i said nothing"
BAGHDAD CAFE SONG I AM CALLING YOU BY JEVETTA STEEL. AFTER WATCHING THIS VEDIO YOU MAY WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE.
Rammstein are the best live band in the world. End of.
✊✊✊
No that's not blood it's pyrotechnic gel so they don't catch on fire when they use the pyrotechnics.
he does not have any blood its oil protecting him from fire damage, he is expert when it comes to fire - tnt stuf.. so he have high rank to even have the permission to have fire on the stage.
I don't understand why everyone's first thought (besides the treadmill) is if it's blood on him. I have always thought it looks like engine grease or motor oil, but never blood
Du hast mean you have, du hast misch means you have me
From what I gather, they are saying, ‘You have me’ so why should I say a lot of unnecessary wedding vows. 😄🤘
React to Feuer frei, Engel, and/or mein herz Brent! Plz :)
Uh oh.......(in a good way). Oh yea, first btw.lol
Allways, ALLWAYS! Everyone asks allways first: Treadmill?`?? Is that blood??? LOL
Flake has said before that it gets boring just standing still whilst playing, do they gave him a treadmill for that exact purpose. Welcome to the community!
By the way, Till Lindemann is a certified pyrotechnician. The dirty look or "blood", is because they are all covered fire resistant gel, and the powder residue sticks to them
You should React to „ich tu dir weh“ Life from Madison Square Garden
React Rammstein Song called Engel live
A song based on the tolerance of a couple during a marriage.
Guy on the treadmill is known as "Flake", keyboardist. "Flake" gets easily bored during concerts. He walks on treadmill or tormented by lead singer, Til Lindemann. Til and other bandmates wears gel. "Gel" is flame retardant keeping them from being burn from the pyros.
thanks for the info/insight on 'gel' 👍
Germans make superior luxury cars - Mercedes/BMW/Audi - and sports cars - Porsche - and superior metal/hard rock bands Rammstein, Scorpions, Helloween, Accept, Kreator, Grave Digger, Blind Guardian
If you are really interested to see more, I would suggest "Zeit", "Zick Zack" (funny) and "Deutschland" official videos and live "Sonne" and "Rammstein", for first
Ramstain say about all politic and all staff
Watch "Dicke Titten" from Rammstein
Just saw them in Philly! Greatest show on earth! Till's Father was a poet and his lyrics are written as poetry, dive into the lyrics they are freakin deep... or just sexual! lol Actual music videos are just as meager as the lyrics. Try Deutschland but do the research on the meaning behind everything, they are geniuses.
Justin
I have a suggestion: have English translation for Rammstein songs nearby. "Du Hast" means "you have" while "Du Hasst" means "you hate"
