This video was so informative! Now I’m way less confused with making my own mounts for my rwd k24 swap.
thanks for watching. good luck with your build
2y later hows it go complete the build?
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen such a detailed end-to-end mod video. Brilliant!
Been planning to plug up a 2JZGTE into my 1984 Ford Ranger and turn her into a sleeper, this answered tons of questions for me.
thanks for watching!
My man wearing a Sox hat and doing some custom work? Subscribed. Well done sir.
Hahaha thanks tom that made my day!
Lovely content! Very very helpful. A little tip for cutting fluid for your drilling, use mustard oil. It cuts much much better than WD40 (Y)
Love your work bro. Such an underrated channel.
thank you for the support!
Your walls tell me that you are also a man of culture.
Beautifully design, compiled and presented (enjoyedthe music too). Well done! 👏
How does this channel only have 2.6k subs?? Subscribed.
Right!? Subbed as well now. 30k views is crimjnal...
Wow that trans mount with the bushing is a great idea. With the new HTG GCU unit out, thinking next summer of taking on putting a BMW DCT in my FD. Been watching tons of videos to determine how practical it is to fab up the trans adapter plate/trans mount and modify the flywheel for someone to do in their garage. But you showing its possible with a drill press, jigsaw, and welder gives me the confidence to take it on. Definitely going to be making like 5 adapters out of wood before I mess with the metal though haha
Thanks for this, its really going to help me out on customizing my engine mounts, your video is the only one I have come across that gives me a real good understanding thanx heaps
Thanks for watching!
This was so well instructed! Great video! Thank you!
This is amazing! Very inspiring work there, gives me hope to what can be achieved in a home garage without heavy machinery. Amazing skills you have, proper engineering skills. Where did you learn all this stuff? I would love to acquire skills like yours somehow!
Thanks for watching - if you want to know my background in the automotive industry i was lucky enough to be on the cm autohause podcast. check him out ua-cam.com/video/1HgHIuAezL4/v-deo.html
This is awesome bro! Keep them coming! I probably said that last time. Lol.
Love the LoJack solutions for a modern problem.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your ideas brother
Really appreciated
Pretty nice tutorial, has given me a few ideas for my silvia now instead of paying $400 on a kit haha
Hey mate love the work, any more update vids coming on this soon? Really keen to see how this is getting on
Brilliant well done buddy cheers
Beautiful shop and job! I enjoyed this video.
My ford ranger has a really solid engine and transmission. The body and frame are pretty crusty so this summer I'm saving my money to go buy a car shell and put my 2.5 4 cylinder in a car. I was thinking possibly crown Victoria or another big car that the truck transmission would fit in. Does anybody have thoughts on this idea?
Can you do a guide for fwd next cars?
sure thing
Insane you deserve more subs I know you’ll grow
Thank you benita!
MODIFY UP np I’d like to know how to get a clutch for a diy adapter
@@benitamanzanarez3520 i have a video coming out on this soon to go with the original gearbox adaptor video. i'm just waiting on a machined spacer before i can complete that video. covid has really put a halt on parts delivery.
Tidy work, your tig work is super trick 👌👌
Wow a master class, I was waitng for this knowledge for years. Thanks a lot. Did you use a poliurethane bushing for the transmission side?
I really appreciate these videos! How are you handling the huge gap you’ve created between the flywheel and input shaft due to that large plate?
Great video. Thank you.
Very2 expert man... Congrats
Nice job on those mounts.
thanks for watching!
Could an automotive transmission be adapted to a motorcycle or sportbike engine? I imagine that this would be possible. However, I do not know how something like this could be done. Or who I need to talk to with this idea as
Btw i have a welder that doesn't use gas or argon can it still do the job?
Just wanted to know whether the engine and transmission are from same vehicle or different vehicles, since u have made own adapter
Hi suman the engine is from a avensis verso and the transmission is from a gt86. thanks for watching
Was wondering how you were going to take up the offset on the gearbox mount but the angle iron, tube with brackets kept it all nicely tucked up and strong too. Loved how you merged the standard engine mounts and they look professional.
You seem to really know the technical stuff. Do you have a trade? Or do you do something like this for work?
thank you james very flattering. I'm a qualified motor mechanic here in aus and have been in the industry for 13 years working in race teams and performance shops. Ive actually put down the tools as a day job which lets me enjoy working on projects that much more.
Great vid bro, professional look, all original look. #boss
i was thinking of doing a ecoboost swap on a is300
Hey hey!! A new and awesome video!!
thank you!
How about 5 cylinder engines? (Om605)
so whenever doing a motor swap can u use the same engines harness or it has to be specifically for that motor
Thanks for your vídeos help to much i Jeep follow you.
anime wall is fire my guy
great vid. Can you tell me what the lower control arm bush was off please? I am looking for something similar to do my own mounts. Thanks.
Hi James, this particular bush kit is to suit a ford econovan front lower control arm SPF2160K. but all you need to do is measure the id of the pipe you are using then match up the bush od on the superpro website. there is almost every conceivable size available so you wont have any trouble sizing one up. Good luck!
@@MODIFYUP Thanks! I look forward to more of your content.
Question. Is it crucial that the engine be leveled “perfectly” with the transmission/drive shaft etc? Or did I miss it in the video? Thank you!!! Love the video!!! New subscriber 🔥🔥🔥🔥
does not need to be perfectly level however you need to take into account the engine oil pickup location, where oil will pool if its not level. also if too much of an angle seals will leak if the full level is above the seal height especially extension housing.
@@MODIFYUP ok thank you!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sorry if you explained these in a previous episode, but did you have to fab up a flywheel spacer to make this engine swap work?
Did you consider 2arfe aswell?
Could this also work for a ls swapped bmw 7 series
thx for the help mane
Perfect 💯👍🏾
How many hrs did it take you to build these?
Looks great mate. Where does the slave cylinder fit on that bellhousing? Also, what's the plan for the reverse starter layout?
aaay the original 2az godfather himself. Slave sits at the top of the belhousing which actually sits proud of the mounting face so I'll have to trim the plate a little to get it to work. the fork also comes down from the top vertically which is also a limiting factor on space. Starter is quite simple its just needs a small pocket cut and re-welded on the firewall. With 2 inch subframe spacers you could probably get away without cutting the firewall at all.
Sounds good. Are you running a subframe spacer now? Does the starter take any room needed by the pedals or steering?
@@MJBOGAN it is currently setup with 10mm subframe spacers but could be removed with more massaging of the tunnel hence why i havent mentioned them until now. Bonnet clearance would still be ok as theres about 30mm to the under bonnet webbing. The starter pocket will interfere with 1 mounting point for the hvac box but nothing else. Once the pocket is welded in i'll fit the heater box and see what mods are required for a factory fit.
hey mate, just wondering if you've ever built a turbo 1az or 2az? considering going down that path for a rally project and wondering what sort of reliability you could get from a stock long block? sick video series, keen to see more
Hi i think we spoke about this in another comment section. the limiting factors in the stock bottom end are the factory match stick rods and the head lifting off the block. in both cases the engine needs to be dis-assembled so I would not recommend boosting the motor before doing the bare minimum of rods, thread inserts in the block and arp headstuds.
@@MODIFYUP i reckon i could get rods and head studs done for pretty cheap so thats really good to know. thanks so much for the info.
Anime is life 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Hey, who makes that engine support brace? That thing is pretty mint and I could use one.
its just a generic unbranded one. you can find something similar like this - toolswarehouse.com.au/products/grip-19010-450kg-adjustable-engine-support-bar?variant=21213194387569¤cy=AUD&gclid=CjwKCAjwkoz7BRBPEiwAeKw3qyKS3s1so34Xvos0aD91j9EzevaLLHFPz1aBAdOJpb-y2W_1IcRoPxoCy24QAvD_BwE
Hi! Which steel did you use for mounts?
Nice one
Thanks for watching
Hey I got a question so I’m trying to do the same thing but currently the trans isn’t with me do you think I should wait till I get the trans or could I build the mounts still without the trans ?
Hi benita, I would strongly recommend you wait till you have the trans and have both the engine and trans sitting in the car. It would be very difficult to get all of the clearances right without the physical trans and engine in to measure against.
MODIFY UP thanks just what I needed to hear
@@benitamanzanarez3520 tell me more about your swap. is it going into an ae86 also?
MODIFY UP no my car a s13 2jz swap with 300zx trans all diy just like yours!!
@@benitamanzanarez3520 very cool
