No you cannot pick out music they’re horrible
I love all of them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
natalie portman and monica bellucci
@Trami Nguyen 1
I'm no celebrity but I can speak 8 languages.. I can speak French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and then 3 African languages - Swahili, Afrikaans and Xhosa
You’re a god
That's amazing. I can barely speak 2. Lol
Proof God has favorites😪
Same with me: German, English, French, Norwegian, Spanish, Italian, some Russian and Czech and I learned Latin (but this isn't a language most people really "speak" today) :D.
@@Jeahkir you speak czech so you are czech person?
One of the biggest surprises ever was hearing Viggo Mortensen speak perfect Argentinian Spanish, I would also add Anya Taylor Joy as she is fluent in Argetinian Spanish as well due to living there and her father being of Argentinian descent. As someone born in the USA there are a lot of People with Latino Parents that don’t speak Spanish at all so that’s a feat I say.
People might fight you on the “Argentinian” thing but… as a Colombian? Yeah. The Argentinians and the Chileans have their own version of this thing. Chilean is borderline a different one all together.
My biggest surprise was that 2017 was in “the aftermath of Brexit”. Here in the uk we thought brexit took place in 2020 and not pre 2017. #alternativefacts
@@Daaaanielle As an Argentinian, I have to say it's true. We mixed so much Italian with our Spanish...
One of the biggest surprises for me (for this video) was discovering that Aragorn himself could speak many languages (or at least a bit of each.)
Yes, I (already) knew that Viggo Mortensen was Aragorn from The _LOTR_ Trilogy.
He father is not Argentinian descent, he's white. White people have European descent. Her father was just born in Argentina, that's why he speaks Argentina's Spanish.
Very impressive. But I am surprised that neither the narrator nor anyone involved in the production of this video knew that "bilingual" is pronounced "bilinGWal" and not "bilinGYOOWal". And she said the word several times.
jackie chan, of course he speaks mandarin. as his movies were exported to other countries. he began learning other languages.
I didn't know some of these actors and actresses can speak multiple languages that's pretty awesome. I didn't Tom Hiddleston can speak German and Italian. That's so wow. XD
He doesn't speak German, he just knows some words. Overrated.
@@Jeahkir He doesn't speak Italian: he just know some phrases. His accent is pretty good, though.
I started learning French at the start of the pandemic and it’s tough but I’m so happy now. I used to live in Denmark, fair play to anyone who can speak Danish. I couldn’t master it 😭
I'm Swedish and Swedish and I can understand written Danish because it's so close to Swedish, but understanding it spoken or pronouncing it is hard. Especially pronunciation. I really can't bend my tongue that way.
Ingen kan master dansk, ikke danskene heller
I forgot how beautiful Jody Foster was when she younger.
Where the heck is Mariska Hargitay?! She speaks 5 languages 😳
What I learned from this top :
_ Edward also knows Japanese
_Christoph also dubs his movies in French
_Natalie actually learned many languages (I've never seen any videos of her practicing)
Harpo Marx was fluent in English, French, Italian & Russian.
How are VENUS and SERENA WILLIAMS not on this list? They are fluent in English (of course) French, Italian, and Spanish. Serena even speaks a little German and Mandarin.
You shouldn't be surprised if they are European. Most Europeans speak several languages.
As a native spanish speaker I can say Viggo spanish is perfect!!!
His Danish on the other hand is not that good 😆
I can speak English, Spainish and French and have some proficiency in Irish Gaelic and German. Also know some words/phrases in other languages but not enough to claim any proficiency in them.
I would NOT be surprised if Tom Hiddleston could speak every language in existence. He’s just that talented
No one can, because there's almost 10 000 languages!
There are so many different languages out there, I don’t think anyone could learn all of them.
@@JZJ7777 ….have you heard of exaggeration
me waiting for someone to speak greek during the whole video since it was in the thumbnail: 🤡
What people that only speak english dont understand is that most languages are extremely similar
My friend speak thai and chinese🇨🇳🇹🇭
Is this how we pronounce bilingual now? 🤔
I was cringing 😂
Im completely blown away. Wow
Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow
Viggo should be number one. Natalie exaggerates her language knowledge. She grew up bilingual Hebrew-English and learned good French in school and through her ex. Her Arabic and Japanese are just phrases.
Agreed. I could immediately tell from the video that she doesn’t not speak Japanese at all.
This countdown was ridiculous! Not because they say a line or two words in another language they automatically know how to speak it. There are celebrities who can actually speak different languages fluently: Gwyneth Paltrow's Spanish is UNBELIEVABLE! Shakira speaks fluently like 5 or 7 languages. Edgar Ramirez speaks 7 languages, Gal Gadot, Charlize Theron... Come on!
I lowkey expected Mads Mikkelsen to be on this list as well.
omg what about daniel bruhl?
Wow
Viggo Mortensen speaks even Elvish
Has anyone ever met UA-camr Lasoshu who can speak many languages? He's not a celebrity but I wish he was.
Is he the dude who passed away ?
@@donna8 Yeahhhh.
_:/_
I see Tom Hiddleston I click
That's him in the thumbnail? I never would have guessed. I'm used to seeing him dressed as Loki.
@@DavidRay39 that's him. That's what he looks like when he's not playing Loki.
Tom Hiddleston is absolutely incredible. He can do so many things. Including playing the spoons. And he is such a kind human to fans.
Ever since I saw the cringe with De Niro, I noticed how much he brags and can’t unsee it. And I doubt he can speak all the languages. His Italian in the clip was proof. Now Bradley is impressive. His French is impeccable and he learnt it late in life.
@@NForupvVO This Tom Hiddleston guy might not be fluent in Italian, whatsoever, but his accent is pretty impressive! As for this Bradley guy, he's fluent in French and his accent is good.
Christopher Lee was fluent in English, Italian, French, Spanish and German, and moderately fluent in Greek, Swedish and Russian.
That man had an amazing life. Deserves a bio movie.
How about the Elven language? I'm sure JRR Tolkien would agree.
Yeah, he was incredible. Sorry but this Top 10 isn't great.....some of the celebes is basically one sentence or poor. Esp those who supposedly 'speak' Spanish or Italian (good try but certainly not fluent nevermind fluent speakers). To finish, Mr Lee absolutely should be in this top 10!!!
Christopher Lee was a spy. It helps to know a foreign language or two.
He studied some ancient Greek but he wasn't able to speak ancient or modern Greek Still very impressive tho
Obviously Charlize Theron can speak Afrikaans, because she WAS Afrikaans in South Africa 😂😂
You mean " is" , she is still alive. .
@@peterang6912 she lives in the us - with us passport
@@abdulalhazred4224 it's about the "was", she " is" South African, she is alive and have 2 passports.
@@peterang6912 *has
(Hehe)
@@thatsalt1560 has means she gave one of the passports back.. So she have only one passport...
Venus and Serena Williams both speak French, Italian and Spanish in addition to their native English and Venus can also speak a good bit of Chinese. Actors aren't the only celebs.
Kobe Bryant knew at least a few languages, too.
Venus and serena are amazing
@@greyhorseazeri I am so glad that you mentioned him.
Alexis Ohanian speaks Russian.
I wish Freddie Highmore had been included on this list.
Freddie speaks French, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese.
I AM A SURGEON
Bilingualism in the U.S is something that’s more tolerated than embraced
My Dad who immigrated to US in the late 60s speaks 4 languages fluently and is working on his 5th. He likes to tell the joke "a person who speaks 2 languages is called bilingual, a person who speaks 3 languages is called trilingual , what do you call someone who speaks only one language?... American!😂
@@stefs3460 Sad, but true
In most of the country it simply isn't necessary to learn a language other than English. It is an academic exercise for people or a way to connect with distant roots on another continent. Outside of cities with large immigrant populations it is common to go weeks, months or even years without hearing another language spoken unless you visit a Chinese or Mexican restaurant. You can travel a thousand miles in any direction within the US and English is still the primary language. In Europe if you travel a hundred miles you are likely somewhere with a completely different language and culture, so there is a major incentive for multilingualism.
Only 20% of Americans are bilingual compared to 56% of Europeans.
Part of why I'm moving out.
You forgot Lupita N'yongo who speaks Spanish, Luo, Swahili and of course English.
I'm pretty fluent in Spanish and it's one of my favorite languages. I would also love to learn Italian, Welsh, Hebrew, Arabic, French and Scottish AND Irish Gaelic.
I'm a fluent Irish speaker. It's not that hard. It's just thr grammar that gets you
Aprenda português, é parecido com espanhol, vai ser fácil pra você.
Tom hiddleston is amazing guy he is so lovely to his fans and takes time to talk to them

If Tom Huddleston is considered speaking a language because he know one sentence, I'm able to speak about 10 different languages. That DOESN'T COUNT
Why show shakira speaking spanish? she is from colombia lmao
righ? thats what isayd
😆
What about Shakira?? She can speak 6 different languages!!!
Alicia Vikander - Swedish is her native language she can also speak Danish very fluently, English of course
Michael Fassbender - beside English he is fluent in German and Irish (Gaelic)
Salma Hayek - Besides Spanish, her native tongue, she can also speak Portuguese fluently, English, and Arabic.
Zoe Saldana - English & Spanish
Shakira - English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian
...
He is not fluent in German anymore. He has said he needs to brush up on his German
Shakira- Spanish (first, because it's her native language), Arabic, English Spanish, Italian and French (she's not fluent, but she speaks the language).
I know it's a fictional language but Zoe can also speak Navi.
I mean…any celebrity that lives outside of the U.S. doesn’t really surprise me.
Can't believe Daniel Bruhl wasn't on this list at all when he has several movies in many different languages.
The Barcelona-born actor's first languages are German, Spanish, & Catalan, with French, English, & possibly some Italian.
In conclusion, it’s Tom Hiddleston’s world and we are just living in it
Huh?
You forgot Trevor Noah , he speaks 7 languages
Trevor Noah is not a polyglot.
really?!!!? Shakira speaking spanish, and Charlize Theron speaking afrikaans?:)))
I wish learning a new language would have been mandatory when I was in school.
You can still learn one for yourself. It's actually a lot more enjoyable and realistic to learn a language because you WANT to vs FORCED to.
(Of course not counting people who move to a different country).
@@mile_851 I see what you're saying and you are right but I wasn't allowed to. But had it been mandated it wouldn't be their choice to make.
Here in the UK we have to learn a language. The choices are: French, Spanish and German. French is really useful considering our close proximity to France. I learned French from the age of 10.
Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU knows English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Hungarian.
I love how Natalie is here with Mila who also is fluent in Russian but not mentioned on list.
Alexis Ohanian speaks Russian as well.
Tom hiddleston can do everything...
Periodt
Except winning at Paper Scissors against the Valkyrie.
Wish he would do me.
Except shave.
What all that hype around this actor about? He's just had learned by memory some sentences that he repeats here and there. That doesn't make a person fluent or even beginner.
Tom Hiddleston is the perfection.
Some speak foreign languages, and some can only say "thank you" in a few languages.
I don’t doubt their language skills but the clips don’t really reflect their speaking abilities.. especially Tom speaking Italian lol
I wish I had studied harder. I took 3 years of French and can't hold a conversation in it to save my life.
I've been doing Spanish since I was 6... I'm 30 and still can't hold a convo.
@@jynxie17 😆 We think they talk too quickly and they say the same about us.... at least the French and Spanish people do lol. I think immersion is the only way to learn.
It's very impressive and commendable. My doctor/GP here in Copenhagen, working in our most diverse area, speaks a multitude of languages. He's from Armenia and ofc speaks Armenian, but also Danish, Swedish, German, Greek, Italian, Spanish, English, Polish, Russian, French, Kurdish, Turkish, Arabic and Portuguese. He also speaks Serbo-Croat, and maybe that should count as one or many, just like the scandinavian languages. He is also a really great and compassionate person.
Wow! Your doctor must be amazing at learning languages! To be able to speak so many languages must be incredible 😩❤️ (I can speak well only 3 languages unfortunately😓)
As a French, Jodie Foster is impressive because she sounds just like a native speaker. The rhythm, the vocabulary, the lack of accent... You can only tell this is not her first language from the very rare mistakes she makes.
it happens when she speaks italian too, it’s shocking
I would hope so that her French is perfect haha she graduated from the Lycée Français de Los Angeles :)
Where’s Shakira? She speaks Spanish, English, Italian , French , Portuguese , Catalán (Barcelona’s language) 👎🏼😬
it's always funny when they show Shakira speaking spanish in this topic. She was born and grew up in Columbia! It's like showing Christoph Waltz speaking german.
Tom Hiddleston is a real goat of idioms
You forgot Jane Fonda - she learned French when she was married to director Roger Vadim. John Malkovich went to the same school as Jodie Foster - Lycee Francais de Los Angeles - & speaks French. The Affleck brothers spent a year in Mexico when they were children & could speak Mexican Spanish. Tatiana Maslany was born & raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada & is trilingual - English, German, & French. Cobie Smulders & Emily Vancamp, being also Canadians, are bilingual in English & French.
Love Malkovich!!! His command of French is divine
Robin Williams learned Russian, Robert DiNiro learned Sicilian, Giovanni Ribisi Italian, and Tommy Lee Jones speaks fluent Spanish.
An okay list. But if I have to listen to Rebecca mispronounce "lingual" one more time, I'm unsubscribing and thumbing down every video you make until the end of time. And it's not only her - others make frequent and basic pronunciation errors that are grating to the ear. Get it together, people!
It’s so wrong and so deliberately done (repeatedly), it starts to feel like they are fishing for a response. The more reaction they evoke from their videos, the better. Positive and negative comments monetize the same way. Views, comments, likes, and dislikes all make them money. I hate to be the conspiracy theory weirdo, but this really comes across as a blatant cash grab. Pretty cheap and gross really.
I want to learn Deutsch ( German ) 🇩🇪 , Français ( French ) 🇲🇫 , Español ( Spanish ) 🇪🇸 , Italiano ( Italian ) 🇮🇹 and Português ( Portuguese ) 🇧🇷 🇵🇹
Well, I'm pretty sure Finnish would be difficult language to learn for all of them. Even us Finns can't speak it right! 😂😂
Most Europeans are multi lingual
And... Where is Freddie Highmore?
Well, if I use the same criteria as used in this video and other similar about speaking languages, then I personally speak (in no particular order): French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Galician, English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Lithuanian, Polish and Russian. That's 14 of them. Do I have to become an actor for anybody to be impressed?
Currently learning Japanese and also wish to learn/relearn French, Spanish, Italian and Scottish Gaelic 😄
Why isn't Boris Kodjoe up here he, speaks over 3 different languages ??
I'm from the UK and I can speak Swedish. It always impresses me and warms my heart to see people learning other languages
Tom hiddleston also knows British sign language
I am not a celebrity but I also speak several languages: German, Swedish, Italian, French, English and am learning Russian, Japaneese and Swahili.
What about Daniel Brühl? He has spoken numerous languages across many movies
🇬🇷 One who learns to speak and understand the unique Greek language is known to have a linguistic …superpower, on so many levels.⭐️
You PROBABLY didn't know that Latin pop singer SHAKIRA is ACTUALLY of SPANISH DESCENT, and speaks FLUENT Spanish!
Cut to Shakira: "Ley leY lEy LeY le ley!"
I want to learn 🇵🇹🇧🇷🇮🇹🇪🇸🇲🇫🇩🇪 : português , italiano , español , français and deutsch
just because they can say "hello" and other simple greetings doesn't mean they speak the language duh. only 3 of these celebrities in this list truly know how to speak other language besides english.
Yeah exactly. If this were fluency I could call myself a native speaker in German even though my level is barely a B1.
Americans hate real bilingual people, but will make an endless praise for monolingual English natives who manage to pick up some words in another language.
Savoir quelques phrases ou quelques mots dans une langue étrangère, ne veut pas dire qu'ils sont capables de maîtriser adéquatement la langue.
In US people are surprised the celebrities speak other languages while in EU it is normal to speak more than a language, sometimes even 3 or 4.
How did Trevor Noah not make this list? Seriously though, was expecting to see him at #1 or top 3 at the very least
You forgot Connie Nielsen. Apart from Danish and English, she speaks French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish and some Spanish
How are you pronouncing "lingual" ?
Thank you for mentioning it. I thought it was just me.
🤚For a video on languages, the narrator is not saying "lingual" correctly. The g and u make a "gw". 🤦♀️
I wish I could learn all the languages in the world!!! But my reality is that I can barely speak English... Lol and I can speak really good Spanish!!!!
WOW! Latin sounds like Italians to me. That last dude was so pissed off with you.
Tom Hiddleston is the definition of perfection, that man can do anything but what about Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton ???
You forgot Sorrell Booke. I understand he spoke at least five languages fluently.
I don't like these lists, they never include Shakira, she is a 6 language speaker, like Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian and Catalán.
Viggo Mortensen is superb, Shakira speaking Spanish??? It must be a joke.
I know this is picky, but the problem with the phrase "You Didn't Know" in the title is that in the intro, they include "bilingual" in their definition of multiple languages, that is two or more. Many of these celebrities are people that we already knew had English as a second language. So, we already knew that they spoke two or more languages.
Yeah, I had a “Well, DUH!” reaction to some of them.
You left off Mila Kunis who is quite fluent in Russian!!!!!
Others did we missed:
Matt Damon
Will Smith
David Beckham
Venus and Serena Williams
etc.
I'm no celeb, but I can speak english and Spanish fluently and a bit of french.. I also love singing songs in Japanese, but don't actually know the language.
I wonder if any of them sign any languages.
Monica Bellucci knows french because she was married to a frenchman and has lived in France for over 20 years (you can’t help but pick up the language that way) and “knows” english just a little more than most italians do - that’s clear from Bellucci’s (very) strong italian accent she still retains while acting. Try listening to Luca Marinelli (The Old Guard) or, better, Pierfrancesco Favino (Angels and Demons, World War Z and others)….if it was just their voices and accents, you wouldn’t be able to tell they’re 100% born-and-bred italians. I’m italian, so I would know. :)
You forgot to mention John Cena.
I am a native speaker of English and Spanish. I can speak Korean, Chinese, Russian, French, Arabic, Yoruba, Swahili, Japanese, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, German, among others.
