Don't Overlook This Keyboard! Forever65

- The Forever65 is a premium custom mechanical keyboard by Drift Mechanics. This keyboard has a fantastic design and the finish and typing experience are top notch. There are not many left, so I'd jump on it quick. $600 is pricy, I get it, but if you missed the Unikorn 2.2 or the Kohaku, this is a great alternative, and a keyboard I will keep in my collection.
Overall, there is nothing fancy about the mounting style. It's a standard stick-on poron gasket mount. The packaging comes with just a few items, and all of this lines up with what you see in a lot of the "endgame" category of keyboards. No frills, just solid performance, and quality finish. I think more people should know about this keyboard and Drift Mechanics, as I was quite frankly blown away by it.
This video is NOT sponsored, but I was provided a review unit free of charge, as I do for all of my reviews. It does not change my opinion whatsoever.

Thanks for the video. I am tempted to try Keykobo, your build sounds great with them and your choice of switches!
Yeah I'm impressed with keykobo for sure
Great Video. I have this board and love it. I appreciate what DM did so people can get a chance to get a premium board w/o having to wait or pay a lot in the after market. Thanks!
Awesome to hear!
Smashed it. Beautiful video as always. That keyboard is 🔥
Ayo thanks Vayder!!
Really tempting board, great presentation as always.
Thanks homie! 🤜
I agree! This is a really great board that I would recommend as well!
What color do you have?
@@Clackbait Purple! It's gorgeous
Fantastic video on a fantastic board!
Thank you!! ❤️
That purple and gold is such a nice combo!
I just built my white one today. POM plate with oil kings and GMK Digital Nightmares. It's expensive, but it sounds incredible and I think it's worth it tbh. So clean and poppy, no hollowness, endgame material for sure. Quality video as always sir, but wouldn't mind the typing sound section being a little longer. Need some time for my ears to chew on it, you know? 😁
Yeah for sure bro. I'll put out the long version tomorrow if possible. The rain why it's so short is because people seem to abandon it after a few seconds
I picked up a Black Forever 65 from r/MM for $475 and then got the PCB Millmaxed at Loobed Switches for $30. The typing test in this sounds basically identical to what it sounds like in real life! I'm using a POM plate + Epsilons (stock) and it's probably the most comfortable board I've ever typed on. Broke my typing record on it first test too 😂
Yooo that sounds sick. I may need to millmax mine. It's really a dope board.
Oh wow, I didn’t know Loobed offered millmax services
@@Clackbait It was totally worth it! I LOVE the Cherry Lip too!
Does the B in B-roll stand for beautiful?! Killer footage and great review as always!
Hahaa. Thanks my bro! Hope you've been well.

The price is not for everyone, but if its in your budget, then I recommend you look at this one.
Can you give me your thoughts on the keykobo keycaps? How does it compare to GMK, how are the legends, etc? Thanks!
I'm actually really impressed with Keykobo! Legends are really good, a couple of symbols may be a bit closer to the edge than I'd like, but overall, great alternative to GMK. Sound is also very good, but I prefer GMK over all sets. And that may be how I'm programmed now.
SICK b-roll beats my guy!!!
Thanks homie!
This keyboard might be called the forever, but you’ll be the most awesome creator forever!
You did it again!!! Luv ya homie!
Not a fan of the visible screws, the solder only, and the logo but those are some clean lines.
I just built mine and I agree that it's one of the best sounding and looking boards that I have ever owned. I would put this right up there with the pc moontower. It really is that good.
What's plate/switches did you end up running with?
Nice vid mate
Thanks bro!
That Oil Kings build is something else, god damn.
Cinematically this video is leaps and bounds ahead of your ordinary. Whatever you did here, keep doing it, this was amazing.
Ayo. That means a ton coming from you man. ❤️
Does the left shift sound hollow, in Andy's video it sounds pretty bad to be honest, but in your video it's descent, I understand that it might be due to different build but still, have you done a force break on it or completely stock? Does the kohaku have similar weaknesses, meaning left mods sounding a bit off?
I didn't force break mine. I do find the left shift a bit weaker, so maybe I'll try to force break it, but honestly , it sounds pretty good as is. Kohaku mods are pretty even across the board.
@@Clackbait Would you say that Kohaku is engineered better and is still a better buy, of course considering if you can get your hands on one?
If you could have just one 65% and be done, which keeb would you choose?
@@user-br6xs1fd8u Kohaku is the one if you can get your hands on it.
What’s that ball/spherical like desk accessory you have there?
Mezmoglobe
The sound is dope.. need a licence for that!
May i know where did you get the spinning sphere that is featured in your video? Keep looking for something similar!
Yeah sure. It's my mezmoglobe. I get that question a lot!
@@Clackbait nice thanks! OMG their price increase quite a bit since they finished Kickstarter campaign
this do be fire, and pom on pom on pom action also do be fire
It do be!
This is a top 65% imo, i own two, but it’s comparable to any of the endgame boards in terms of sound and quality.
For sure bro!
How does it compare to a Nemui 65, if you have ever tried one.
Unfortunately I haven't tried one my friend
Really been looking for an end game 65% to get my hands on lately. I am between the Forever and the Orbit 65% which is in GB right now... Decisions, decisions...
Ohhhh that's a tough one.
I would personally go for the orbit, it just looks crazy nice to me, and the price for a copper bottom (which looks the best in my opinion) is much more stomachable, even more so if you go for the alu version.
@@farlig8666 yeah if I pick one up, it will be copper bottom. Super dope
sick b roll!❤
Thank you!! ❤️🤜
where do you find most of your artisan keycaps?
Many different makers! Mostly through raffle buys.
@@Clackbait is there a specific artisan you'd recommend for a black and white colorway?
@@CallMeSwoop check out Archetype on IG
This board is lit
are they really on par with singa boards?
Great question. Strip away the clout and just focus on sound and feel + quality, then it does. I'd say Singa is still a notch above, but it's the availability factor that I'm pointing out here. I appreciate you! ❤️
Nice!
clackbait is forever my favorite keyboard content creator
Ayyyeeee ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Gahhh, I need to rebuild this using my POM plate.
Indeed brother
shipping is $186.55, will they send a grand piano with that?
God damn! Where you at??
@@Clackbait Malaysia
Better than the TGR 910 ?
Haven't tried the 910 tbh. I have some friends who have both and prefer the forever sound wise to the 910 though..
Whew…. Another banger.
Yoooo what up fam! Glad you enjoyed it
@@Clackbait kohaku and Unikorn are my endgame. But I prefer all my organs lol
Hahaa. Good call
Sick color
I've taken multiple Korn and Kohaku Ls, so I picked this up in B-stock E-white and haven't had time to build it yet. The B-stock looks almost flawless too. Looking forward to it.
Yooo let me know how you like it.
Definitely will!
Clackbits are the GOAT!
I'd like to think so! Hahaa. ❤️
cool
Cool
This sounds amazing, but clackbits make everything sound amazing. I just don't love the look of this board or that price tag.
I feel ya homie
I don't really like this board, the design is alright but I've seen some suit my taste better for 300-350$, the sounds is meh and the weight(both internal and external) looks worse than somthing like the arc60. I wouldn't get this even for 400$ and that 550-600$ can be spent on a full brass neo87(9kg) or even kalam cult tkl full brass if you want to go the kalam way or even a vertex angle with that matrix lab coating tbh.
I feel ya. Price, design, sound isn't for everyone. It's about your taste.
slept on??? bro that shit ran out of stock in one week and its costs like 550 for b grade, B grade, 550 think about that. Also if singa invested some money into making the kohaku and unikorn an instock keyboard they would destroy every other keyboard maker in the market.
If Singa was in stock, it would def end everything. 😂
@@Clackbait You know I gotta wonder if Elaine hasn’t had offers to be fronted cash from investors to do a larger in stock drop, but I’d think it would just be hard to keep the QC tight enough if there were to be enough boards for sale to keep up with demand. I’d love to get a Unikorn, but am super hyped for the January (whenever it manages to ship).
its not hotswap? yeah i'm good...
The Chinese character and its font sounds and looks very lame for a native Chinese speaker. It is so lack of artistic feeling.
Glad i'm not the only one lol
There are better options with that price point imo. And they should've made hotswap version of it.
Basically all these boards are sought after because they are limited stock and unique design elements. Yiu are paying more for less. Lews material and less festures. They dont sound or feel better than any other aluminum option. They use the same poron gasket mounts, plates, etc. All that makes them sound different is your switch and foam selections. Not that sound should even be this damn important for a keyboard, a tactile INPUT device.🤦♂️
If someone is actually willing to spend thousands on these boards just go have one made. Any decent CNC shop can make these basic things.
A wee bit too pricey for a beginner.
Oh most definitely is!
@@Clackbait I think my SSD failed when the price came up!
@@informedchoice2249 hahaaaa
that blocker is mad ugly
Seems like it's a live it or hate it piece. I personally love it. 🙏
I wish drift would just re-release the Austin instead. Way better board.
@@swordreflex we're working on Clara now so keep an eye out for that one!
@@driftingbunnies LET'S GOOOOOO
@@driftingbunnies Still want an Austin R3 but I'll take anything over a 60/65 honestly
wow the in stock buy makes a big difference to the price, something like the tofu65 2.0 is a million times more worth this garbage
