Saevus is hands down one of the best designers and is run by a real stand-up guy who I’ve gotten to know as a friend as well. Would love nothing more than to see him continue to grow and succeed, and looking forward to all his future projects! Also a big fan of Geist Maschine and Werk Technica as well, as both of those designers have created some of the best and most beautiful designs I’ve ever seen. PS: Glad to see you continuing to grow your channel! Very well deserved. 💪
I really appreciated this video. It's nice to see someone praising these keyboards that are art, and I think a lot of the cynicism at the moment has happened because we now have so many quality boards that are sold at a low price that are not overly visually interesting; unlimited customizability but without a real commitment to visual design. However, this is the best time for people to get into the hobby, with switches that don't need to be lubed (I am using BSUN Hutt's in my F1-8X as I type this, which are the only tactile switch I have in a daily driver), and boards that sounds great without foam, tape mod, or any sort of force breaking. Where the hobby can go now for those of us looking for something a bit more interesting is towards boards where the designers are obsessive about details; our keyboards become like high end watches. What a great time to clack.
Having been out of the hobby for a little bit, I'm also happy to see wireless and other features being offered more and more often. Bluetooth used to be seen as a bad word in the community and I think it is at least less so now.
We must have the same mind because this is my list too. I have a Werk One coming when they ship in Q1 but i didn’t get the fancy Copper but variant. Still hyped because curved keyboards are the sickest thing ever.
Remember seeing a number of boards from these designers in Alexotos stream vlogs, the Sagrada in particular really grabbed me, they’re supposedly going to do another run at a lower price point, and I am hyped for the prospect! Also very much so interested in Ori’s 60% gummy o ring design. This was a stellar list. Just very impressed with how you effortlessly highlight boards at a variety of price points on your channel! The hobby is lucky to have you!
I would add MVKB's Event Horizon! Check it out. I'm waiting for this and Werk Technica to be the boards of 2024! They both need more coverage, definitely
Really liked this, always cool to see designers and their work. Next time please add at least a list with their names in the description and maybe even links to find their works.
Thanks for celebrating designers. Enjoy these style videos. I would add Max Voltar. The recent showcase of his Event Horizon keyboard is so interesting in terms of manu process (outlined on his site), and design language. And Archetype. The Minerva LX is a beautiful board and their next one looks interesting as well.
Thank you for highlighting some of the most interesting projects in the hobby currently. I personally can't wait for the gehirn, both aesthetic and sound-wise the board seems to be perfection
You've very quickly become one of my favorite, Keeb content creators. Speaking of Keeb content creators, have you considered doing a video about creator switch collabs. Especially with Glarses doing MX purples, I feel like could lead to a neat video from our favorite Keeb historian.
Loved the video but I sorta disagree with a lot of the designers here, Baion has been hella sketch lately banning people from his discord claiming that they need to “toughen up” , also not a huge fan of ori as they seem to have a lot of heat from past QC and designs. Love Laminar tho, might pick up a leviatan extra
@@Charo.mp4 fair, anyways keep up the great content, love your keybaord history vids they are fire, any plans on making one on the old makers who are less active nowadays? Would love to see a vid on Lin and Duck both the good and the bad
Hoping to see Viendi stay around. Haven't heard much about it, but design alone, the 8L was a really interesting 60+left numpad. silly bottom right area with the "/" being moved, but that's what happens when you try to add arrow keys to a 60 but still keep a 2.25u L shift instead of going to the 2u (gross). Great first board though design-wise. Would be nice to see an iteration with something better than sandwich mount and with a 65/75 main layout
Ori looks stunning! New to the hobby but i'm looking to get more sophisticated design board next year. Appreciate this list Charlie! Happy Holidays and looking forward to more of your videos ans of course keyboards
I'm actually owning a Duality TKL and it's by far the most refined board I ever had. To be completely honest, its the only reason I still use TKL instead of fully going to 65%. Maybe the copper bottom peeking out the front just convinces me over and over again.
I know they don't speak to much of the designers of the community but I was insanely impressed with how well the Work Louder Nomad did, and how Work Louder has grown as a brand this year. I'm sure they will grow to even bigger heights, and holding thumbs we can get a standardised socket amongst low profile switch manus lmao
Really hoping to see something new with an F13 no-gap function row like the hex.4b. That would be really interesting, although I don’t know how well it would sell That new geist board, th ASP? Looks really cool, and we need more lefty numpad keyboards, but it's a pretty big bummer that they didn't put all that design thought into the PCB because I tend to use my left hand for the left side of the keyboard, and it only appears to have a right-handed numpad option, but on the left, for some reason. I get it with the long stripes, but it's a form over function situation. SP-111 did this too, although at least that PCB had the option for the correct layout, even though you would have to custom cut a plate Another year comes and goes without more than 1 or 2 (new) keyboards with 4 bottom-left 1.25u keys = 1.25/2.25/2.75 split spacebar. Theseus75 may begin early 2024 so there's that. Pretty frustrating as a Mac user since the normal 3x 1.25u and tsangan both don't come over enough under the C for ⌘cmd, the most commonly used one on macs. Oh well, keeps me from spending I guess so that's alright

Definitely agree with you there - and thanks so much!
Agree as well!

my lookout for 2024 is if ramaworks actually delivers on the kara
Your content is so great! especially being a sorta (I dont have much business lol) keyboard designer.
Thank you so much!!
Waiting for Triad and Keil. werk.technica definitly deserved more coverage my friend. Finally more about Ori is nice too see too!
For sure!
in werk.technica we trust

Bigggg yes to curved boards!

Except the Geistmaschine part, really enjoyed your video.
Glad I found your channel. Great taste and honestly beautiful presentation. I'm so happy that people like you make videos. Thank you.

Yes 100%!
Cant wait for more from saevus. His community is solid, and his boards are pure sex
Bro you see how heavily unmatched that ano in your ori recommendation shot was on 0:41? 😅
not my best choice of photo HAHAH

Thank you - added some links for people who are curious!
Been out of the loop with MX (busy being a topre degen) so I'm excited to check out all these designer's works in the future!
Thanks for celebrating designers. Enjoy these style videos.

Thanks Matthew, definitely agree with you there - the Event Horizon looks fantastic
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I love 65% keyboard. Actually I own Neo65 purple. Is there any new brand for 65% keyboard in 2024 ?
Thanks so much, love the Neo65! Not that I have seen yet!
Ori Genesis looks bonkers and Alice-obsessed me would've been flipping a lid... alas... I've returned to 7u land.
I feel like you could make audio a bit louder, it is really quet

Great intro to some of the more interesting projects and creators in the kb space. Thanks for the vid, have a great festive period, mate ✌️
Thank you, and to you!!
I’ve never slapped the like button faster
🖤
Really enjoyed this video! Kudos mate
Glad to hear it!
Driftmechanics, cant wait for the Clara.
Laminar is a great designer and local to me.
100%
anyone know where i can track the progress of the board shown at 5:19. I would love to see this board !
The Baionlenja or ClickClack discord are your best bet!
baion, saevus my goats
Daji with that H-town drip 💧
am waiting for custom hall-effect keyboard for 2024.
Seems to be a fair few good customs on the horizon
Nice to see laminar on this list, I am all in on the Boomerang when it drops, and have been following it for a while now.
You and me both!
i love you

geist machine isnt an exit scam?? :^O

My goodness, Geistmaschine looks amazing. Definitely gunna look up their HHKB
baion's gehirn is getting my money in 2024. astonishing board concept.
nah, he's ripping people off. you probably know this by now, though. you won't ever get your board.
did you see the parallel situation?

well tiktok daily clips do that thing growth-wise :D
Yeah that really has nothing to do with the design and more with the amount of endless advertising.
ad bombing lol
Geist is just ridiculous in the best way.
damn
