@purva shirodkar I would consider Blake as very successful on her own! But perhaps she was more willing or ready to take on the very stereotypical "wifely duties" and let Ryan shine more, and perhaps Scarlett wasn't ready to compromise or pull back in her own career in any way for her partner. Not an insult or compliment to either one of them, I guess it just means that Blake was a better match for him due to his expectations in a relationship. If I'm to read much into Scarlett's quotes it seems Ryan also didn't give her what she needed in a relationship either.
What a AWFUL situation to put someone in. GP goes on and on about how great RR is, and even says 'goals' so what could Scar Jo really say? Like even in divorces where everyone kept friendly and mutually respectful, it has to hurt that the marriage failed.
People should check out Scarlett's great performance in "The Marriage Story" abt a failed marriage and Scarlett has many crying scenes.
I've no doubt she used her marriage w Ryan as inspiration for the movie.

Why though? Just because she's a more successful actor than Blake? It's very hard to judge from the outside and know what's really going on in these celebrities' lives. But simply going from their body language and interviews (that I've come across), I would say that Blake just radiates happiness and serenity but Scarlett often gives off this stressed-out, anxious energy. Americans get married sooner and mor often than most other western cultures. So divorce is far more common. In some other cultures, people live together for decades and never get married. Question is, will you stay in an unhappy marriage because you don't want people talking about your divorce?
