I think there's some deeper truth to the whole traditional thing with Ryan where he expects his parter to compromise in the career space and drop things for him.?
Blake's acting career has faded out quite a bit since being married and her level of film output has drastically been reduced in the past number of years. She was on a bit of a career high post TV in 2012 and that eventually faded away in a few years. She was one of the few people from CW to make it big and have some career momentum.
If you are going to be a GOOD family with kids, one of the parents will have to sacrifice.
