@@MikeDCWeldtrue. But I can't think of any pro racers in any category that have shown themselves to be deserving of the woodchipper. Definitely plenty of others don't deserve life though.
Haven't checked this but I heard that rally drivers have the fastest reaction time of all the driving sports. Having the ability to compute simultaneously so many factors is otherworldly.
This is what you have to do. At ARA events if the driver holds up the ok green sign then the next driver keeps going but if they hold up the red one or no sign then the driver has to stop and help. The road Marshall isnt supposed to help since the drivers help the other drivers and it can he dangerous for the road Marshalls to get on the course especially if a bystander steps on the course while the road Marshall was helping
I have the greatest respect for this kind of sportsmanship to look out for others drivers safety ! Blessings and best regards to all rally teams for this!
I've seen some horrible failures to warn other racers about a crash ahead. Love to see this crew raking matters into their iwn hands saving lives! ♥️🔥🙏
Can we all just take a moment to acknowledge the situational awareness of the Co driver?! Guys spend the entire stage looking at their notes.. their seat is as low as it can be in the cockpit as they do not need to see out the front, they feel the course and compare the feeling to their notes to know where they are. How the hell did he notice that competitor on the side of the road, mid pace notes..
They needs 100% situational awareness for everything happening in the car, out of the car and to the car. It’s their job to get the car going again if it has a minor problem and make sure it can finish the stage. The co-drivers are the real stars of the show
In WRC, cars are equipped with SAS tracking device, which is GPS with screen that knows everything... So codriver and also maybe driver can see that there is some trouble ahead of them at least 1km before...
Great job! How many times have we seen videos of multiple car pile ups and the previous people involved just stand near the pile and yell slow down, stop or just scream instead of going up ahead a ways and PRE-WARNING DRIVERS! Nope just keep letting them add to the pile!
I wouldn't say thumbs up for sportsmanship. Thumbs up for warning other drivers of the crash hazard ahead which probably saved lives. Hars off to this smart driver/co-driver 👍🏻
Rallying is hard-core. No barriers no flags. I remember standing in a stage trying to slow the next car down while spectators tried to roll a car back onto its wheels and a 6r4 appearing over the hill 😂
Standard procedure, crew to display OK board to next competing cars. Or if crew injured then Marshals are take out and display SOS board to next competing car. Next competing car is to stop and gather information and continue to next radio point in stage to inform rally control stage may need to be stopped to allow rescue into stage.
Who backed the car up and put it even more in the way? Rear tires are on the white line in the beginning, then they’re in the middle of the lane at the end.
It’s def about if anybody is injured in the wreck , possibly the race is somewhat halted if there is an injury , there was def 2 sides to the sign OK meaning the race is yours we are ok
Its still sportsmanship. Just because it's a must, doesn't mean it's unsporting... just because 1 person wouldn't do this doesn't mean most people wouldn't.
That's why rallying is a proper home of sportsmanship compared to F1, as practiced by some drivers. In rallying other drivers slow down and are prepared to stop to help when another car crashes or even comes to a halt. The SOS/OK boards are an aide to communicating to these drivers. In F1, certain drivers who have said "they will win at any cost" will not stop or even slow to see if a driver is ok, they will cause the crash, take advantage of the crash, lie about causing the crash and he and his team will continue to deny any blame. Rallying is to F1 as rugby union is to football. Played by gentlemen who follow the rules, play fair, respect their rivals and respect the referee.
Not just sportsmanship. It is, but it's also track safety. These guys and gals are part of a small family and everyone wants to go home at the end of the day.
I like how they aren’t the same car. The rear wheels on the car in the beginning are on the white line. But when the warned car comes around the rear end of the car is more in the road.
Im confused about 2 things here. 1. Shes holding up the OK sign at them but it says she held up a "slow" sign, im guessing "slow" is on the other side but the other guys got the message and its a standard sign in rally? And 2. When they get out of the car the back wheel is on the edge of the road, but by the time the next car gets there its halfway out into the road, what was the plan there? Get back in the race? But surely the driver/director would both need to be in the car and not about 100 feet down the road waving down the next guys?
That’s a mum-turned-driver right there-instinctively parked the car in the middle of the road like it was a chaotic school run in Swindon, then bolted like a newborn ostrich straight into full-on greeting mode.
Love the way they did this. Sportsmanship in a sport makes me want to watch it more. It when you lose that and the ref aren't playing nonbiases, make it less enjoyable to watch.
Funny thing is when they get out of the car it looks farther off the road then when the car drives by it but the fact they warned the other drivers is awesome
