The intake flange is not restricting anything. You can enlarge the flange all you want but the turbo inlet will remain the same size.
Hi Bruce, thank you for the feedback, we have tested this on many A45 and you can actually feel the throttle response is much responsive to your throttle input. we are willing to test this on your A45 if you bring the car to us, we will give you a free trial with no obligation. so you can feel this for yourself! @@mikeyap4159 Thanks for the reply, but that throttle response is due to the less restrictive filter and has nothing to do with flange. I don't think you can convince me that the engineers in Affalterbach that created the most powerful (at the time it was released) 2 liter 4 cylinder engine, missed a critical performance detail. We're talking about the team that up to this day, other manufacturers are still trying to catch up on.
@@autofficinaportafortuna Bruce there is no doubt the engineers at Affalterbach has done a brilliant job with the A45 engine! This engine is strong but there are weaknesses in everything and build at a price point.
We had customers that were already on a sports drop in filter could feel a real world difference in their A45 performance with this performance.
@@mikeyap4159 Built at a price point? It's an AMG, not a civic econobox, so the typical tuner theory doesn't apply to this engine? Honda and Subaru can't even come close with their Type R and S290. This engine was based out of an FIA engine blueprint and made streetable by AMG. It's possible that there are weaknesses just like most engines, but I doubt that it's the intake flange.
@@autofficinaportafortuna I am a tuner and I will always have ways to improve certain areas of a vehicle, just like the suspension, so many customer of mine is surprised that we could actually improve the ride and handling of their vehicle even though its a coilover system, as I had mention earlier feel free to drop by for a chat!

Yes still stock with catless downpipe and mid pipe

the air intake is of no use with this larger diameter! the air supply also needs to be changed
